Screenshot I just noticed the Deku Tree stares directly at Link's house ALL THE TIME.
"Hmm.... put the 'chosen one' in my direct line of sight for the next 9-ish years or so!"

Hello! And welcome to r/OcarinaOfTime, the subreddit for the discussion of the game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a game produced by Shigeru Miyamoto for the Nintendo 64, Gamecube, 3DS and Switch from 1998 - 2021.
Now, you may be wondering why this subreddit has suddenly been made public after laying dormant for over 9 years. As of today, this subreddit is under new ownership, after being abandoned by it's previous owner.
In future I hope to grow this community, and I look forward to doing so.

The Kokiri are the eternal children of the forest. And one detail that I’ve never really seen discussed is what that would have meant when Link first arrived.
According to the backstory, Link’s mother, gravely injured while fleeing the Hyrulean Civil War, brought her baby to the Great Deku Tree. If the Kokiri remain children indefinitely, then some of the Kokiri we meet in the game could have already been there when this happened. Mido, Saria, and possibly others may have actually watched Link grow from a baby into the child we play as at the beginning of the game.
And that makes me look at Mido a little differently.
We already know there are plenty of reasons for Mido to be jealous of Link. Saria clearly cares deeply about Link, despite Mido having feelings for her. The Great Deku Tree also seems to favor Link, which Mido openly resents. But there’s another thing Mido constantly holds over Link’s head: he doesn’t have a fairy.
To everyone else, Link is the strange Kokiri boy without a fairy. But what if Mido knows the actual reason? What if he remembers that Link was never a Kokiri in the first place?
That would give a little more weight to Mido constantly telling Link that he isn’t “one of us.” Even after Link finally receives Navi from the Great Deku Tree, Mido still refuses to accept him. The fairy was never really the problem. In Mido’s eyes, Link was an outsider from the moment he arrived in the forest.
His hostility could still absolutely stem from jealousy, bullying, and his feelings for Saria, but underneath all of that could be something much older: Mido remembers where Link came from.
I think the remake could do something really interesting with this without changing the original story at all. Even a small line, memory, or interaction acknowledging that some of the Kokiri remember Link being brought to the forest could add a surprising amount of depth to Mido and his relationship with Link.
So, what do you guys think? Does the remake have the potential to expand upon something like this to give Mido more depth?

Over the last couple months, I've been reimagining Ocarina of Time in Minecraft. I'm 3 episodes in at this point, having recreated all of Kokiri Forest, the Lost Woods and Sacred Forest Meadow, with the most recent one focusing on Inside the Deku Tree. I've been avoiding the typical 1 for 1 recreation of Ocarina of Time that has been done so many times before, and am reworking details to feel more alive. Let me know what you think!

What a charming experience OOT has been, showing very few signs of its age, in fact even though it’s a few years older than me and my experience with early 3D games is limited I was surprised by how familiar Ocarina felt, realising Id seen these concepts in some of my favourite modern games that must have taken at least a little inspiration from this game. The soulsborne games are one example for me but there were many other games that I felt reminded of during my playthrough.
Onto Majoras now, but will miss Ocarinas opening title screen which I think may be the single best video game start menu.

Após assistir a um vídeo no YouTube de um usuário corrigindo a nota de Ocarina of Time, eu notei um fato curioso: as reviews que ele considera, embora sejam de mídia especializada, eram majoritariamente pertencentes a revistas anglofonas. Isso me deixou curioso: qual seria a nota de Ocarina of Time, considerando a mídia especializada mundial?

Whoops, completely forgot about Gohma! This is actually my SECOND major boss. The Deku Tree feels like a lifetime ago. My bad!

It gets 12+ rating in Korea, which is probably the only official information since its teaser announcement in June!
When do you guys think it will be coming out...?

I'm absolutely loving this game so far! But I have to admit, that eye-switch room definitely stumped me for a bit. (Phew!)
So, here I am, at what feels like the end. I've been slightly spoiled that a boss is right here, but I'm still incredibly excited!
What were your biggest challenges in this dungeon?
No major spoilers, please, I want to experience the fight! Also, any quick, non-spoiler tips? Wish me luck!

I’m leaning toward them being placed by Ganon, but I’m less certain about the Bottom of the Well and Shadow Temple, since it’s been established that those were already places of evil.

just started my first ever play through of OoT. I grew up as a Nintendo girly born in 2001 with an older sister and dad who were always on mario on the N64 and even tho i’ve never played it before my god does this game have an aura of nostalgia! the music, fhe graphics and the style!
i’m loving playing it so far just thought it was interesting that it felt nostalgic. anyone else feel this?

I recently began playing Ocarina of Time. I'm currently in my first hour, but I'm not really into the game yet. What recommendations can you give me to see the love that everyone sees?
