Ohio has too upturned recent precedent with its law changes.
We have always existed. We will always exist, with and without accurate documents.

Hi all, I recently moved to Columbus and am looking for a clinic to get laser hair removal at. Does anyone have any suggestions on where has the best prices? I'm MTF trans so bonus points if any other trans people have experience in places they know are welcoming and safe. I'm looking specifically to finish off my full face/neck and legs, and considering other parts like my abdomen/chest.

Hi all! I’ve been looking at Marketplace health insurance plans for this November, and so far CareSource seems like one of the few that meets my criteria (preferred surgeon is in-network, outpatient surgery coverage is reasonable). Does anybody have experience with CareSource covering/denying hormone therapy or surgeries?
I know they have specific rules/guidelines for Medicaid coverage, but my question is regarding Marketplace plans specifically.
TIA! 🩷

Hello! I was wondering if there are any like Trans or LGBTQ thrifting groups? If not would anyone like to start one? I live in central OH and would love for some people to go out to thrift stores and lunch with maybe once a month or so.

Hi all! My name is Ariel, and this is my attempt at looking for some queer friends in the Columbus Ohio area (would also love to chat with people outside of Columbus but I unfortunately don't drive 🥲 so meeting up might be harder)
I'm 28 years old (turning 29 soon) and identify as a cis, bisexual/queer woman of color. I spent a few years studying in Canada as an international student, met my partner (who's from Columbus) there, and now I live in Columbus Ohio!
I love films, series, music, and any other forms of art made with kindness and heart. (Especially the series Our Flag Means Death 🏴☠️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️)
I also love singing, writing, reading, doing photography, making bracelets, coloring, and spending some calming time in nature. I also have a cat named Juju who is my sweet lil angel <3
I have been dealing with chronic depression, anxiety, CPTSD, etc. for 13 years and ongoing. My body has been through a lot of trauma, which means sometimes it takes me longer to respond to messages or feel safe/secure enough for IRL meet-ups. Also I Recently realized that I might be AuDHD, but no diagnosis yet.
I would love to make more queer platonic friends who I can talk to and share daily life with. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who might be interested in chatting : )

Hi. I am a gay male in my early 40s, happily married, and looking for some new friends. It'd be cool if they lived in my area, so we could eventually hang out in person. I'm in South West Ohio.
I'm looking for friends who can sit in a coffee shop and forget about the time while having conversations that wander to various topics. People who enjoy driving around, listening to music, and ending up somewhere random just to explore a new shop, or park, or diner. People who try to make any situation turn into a positive experience.
It's important to me that whoever responds is an open-minded individual, someone who cares about how their actions affect others, someone who believes kindness matters, and people should be given the opportunity to live their life as they choose, as long as it's not harming anyone else. Also, believes animals and nature deserve respect.
I try to reduce my screen time, but will make an exception to start a connection through chat or email. It'd be cool if the friendship eventually moves to texting or phone calls, and eventually to meeting in person when both sides feel comfortable.
Anyway, hopefully this works. Thanks for reading my post.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only gay person in Ohio. Where I live no one’s gay.

I thought I had what I needed but I got a call this morning saying for insurance to cover it, I need a letter from a second psychiatrist.
I wouldnt know how to approach this, do I need to establish at a second place to have a second psychiatrist to get this done, as in this could take several months more to get an approval from the second one? Im not even sure if my insurance would cover a second psychiatrist..

Friend and I are going on a date to officially become a couple in September!!! :D (yay queer love heh)
We're either going to NightJar or the Bop Stop. We are also planning a dinner beforehand.
Would love any queer/trans-friendly recs for places to get dinner around either of those places. Furthermore, if any queer ppl on here could please shed any light on how comfy NightJar/Bob Stop may be for a visibly queer T4T couple, that'd be great!
Thanks <3

I am an 18 year old enby, and ive been growing my hair out ever since my mother allowed me to, and ive always been terrified to do anything with it (my hair is like the only thing keeping me looking somewhat femme 😭) but ive always wanted a hairstyle like the one shown in the images, does anyone know a place i can go that wont fuck me up? Ive never gone to a salon or anything before so im quite nervous.. Also like maybe wont break the bank of an unemployed college student...

So her step father passes away. Everyone told her no one wants him bc he pisses and shits on everything. I was told I’m not allowed to train him. She won’t let me use the dog cage to train him at all, which is crazy right? Like can’t use no cage no shock collars no nothing like i don’t care about nothing else this dog they allow to piss on my bed a they laugh about it dude. Like I have no idea what to do with this dog! Like I want nothing to do with it an I take him outside with all the time he won’t use it outside bc his owner doesn’t want to take him outside she takes him out when she wants to an that’s crazy 🙄 like every time I call out on her bad owner ship she like what ever I feed him I love him 😑 an u wonder why your step fathers house smelled horrible. It’s sad when you can’t have a good smell house shit always gotta get ruin by the people who doesn’t know how to train they’re animals. Like I’m so mad I came home to my bed being pissed on any advice on how to get the smell off my bed or should I just toss it out?

The past two months, the HRCF has withdrawn unathorized donations twice a month from my checking account. I'm wondering if it's a wider pattern or a sole directed mistake.
I've stopped future payments because while I support the cause, I can't trust their financial practices. I'm a gay senior citizen on a fixed income.

See my cross post. Basically I'm visiting Cbus, as a trans person, for work in a few months.
I'm actually native to Ohio, but it's been a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllly long time since I've been back. And my egg didn't crack until I left Ohio. So this is all new territory for me. Would love to hear perspectives and advice.

Hey y’all. In light of Ohio’s supremely annoying and f*cked decision to remove the ability for trans folks to change their drivers license without a passport or birth certificate, I’ve decided I think I want to update my birth certificate to male. Not something I really cared to do but if they’re going to be annoying, I’m going to do this to spite them and just have all my shit match just in case, I guess…. All of my other docs have been changed for ages including updated passport I took the opportunity to do last year while the injunction was active for that executive order.
Having to do this in Lucas Co since I’m unable to do it in my home county of Hamilton, and looking to see if anyone has any guidance on filling out this paperwork for LUCAS county.
Also curious if you’ve had your application restricted from public access, what you included as exhibits/evidence for that—- and if you were able to restrict public access to the change purely due to the political climate or something similar. I’m not exactly someone who’s attracted to being stealth for safety reasons normally, or been affected by DV or anything else relating to my transness that would impact my safety more obviously, but I’d love to have this sealed to prevent future headaches and I think we all have a good case to seal it with the political climate.. just not sure if that’s realistic legally as a defense.
Anyways. Thanks for reading! If yall know any info I’d appreciate it.
