A lot of people are saying Switch 2 but I'm honestly hoping it will get a PC release. Just to be clear, I'm not part of the "PC Master Race" brigade because fuck gatekeeping, people can play their games on whatever they like. But I will praise PC for being consistent; the big problem with consoles is that they're restrictive. People like to talk about Steam like it's the only way to play games on PC but in reality PC is the only platform where the developers get a near unlimited number of options (including physical releases) when it gets to releasing their games. Steam just happens to be the most popular.

Ōkami wasn't initially released on PC and didn't get a PC release for quite a while. Plus, Capcom can be a bit...odd...regarding how they release their games. For example: Ōkami never got a physical Switch release outside of Japan.
It's one of those situations where I'm somewhat hopeful the Ōkami sequel will get a PC release but I'm going to cross my fingers anyway and hope it doesn't take as long Ōkami did. Though, to be fair, when Ōkami was initially launched the market was a very different place; throughout the years it pretty much hopped to whatever platform was popular at the time starting exclusively with the PS2 which was still reigning supreme, then the Wii, then came the HD port for the PS3, and then they pretty much went nuts and released the HD port on basically everything. With this in mind the present market seems to be console but it also looks like there's a gradual shift towards PC.

It’s been 20 years. PC is Capcom’s main platform and they haven’t skipped PC for a game in a very long time. There’s no reason to worry about this.

Probably because it's been so long since the original Okami released that it's entirely moot to even bring it up.
Original Okami wasn't released on Wii, PS3, PS4, Switch, or any other platforms either.
PS2 was a long time ago. Console games and PC games didn't have as much of an overlap in the market back then and many more games were released on one specific platform and did not get ports to everything under the sun back then.
To say the landscape of game releases has changed since then would be a massive understatement.

Capcom is really pushing PC support as of late as well in terms of their releases. The days of delayed PC releases is over I think. I'm fairly certain I read something this year about Capcom saying PC is their biggest platform as well.

The PS5 DualSense touchpad would be a decent brush. Not to mention PS5 graphics would handily beat switch 2 in resolution, textures, frame rate.

Probably. I'd reluctantly buy digital only on PS5 since that's only console I have. Better option for me would be PC which I think is likely (RE, Devil May Cry, Monster Hunter Capcom games with PC ports) even if not immediate. I'd wait.

We're going back to the console wars though so I can unfortunately see it as no longer a timed exclusive. Sony doesn't want buyers on other consoles and it's under their umbrella.

Nintendo owns Japan at this point and the first game sold more on Switch than any other platform. Switch 2 is gonna be the lead platform for it.

Nah, it will. There are other consoles out there, and Okami is available on almost all of them now. It wasn't ever going to be dependent on PS5.

square enix got in trouble doing something similar with FFXI, we need to make that story come back into the limelight to put fear into sony and microslop because square enix was actually forced to pay a lot of money to people who's accounts they deleted. Its also why now if you have like a ffxiv account, and youre inactive for years your stuff is still there.

Idk but Switch 2 now offers cheaper cartridges than 64 gb (maybe 16 gb) so when the game is small, they could choose this option. On the other hand, If the game is bigger than 64 gb (which I doubt), they will have to release a game key card, except Nintendo offers 128 gb cartridges in the future, which I also highly doubt bcs imo the switch 2 isn’t really made for over 100 gb games especially Nintendos own games which are compressed really well.

If it comes to switch 2 and Nintendo stays physical theres hope but i doubt most would want to buy a physical for a console they either don’t own or wish for a higher quality experience on ps5 or pc

Existing games will be physical, it’s just new games produced after 2028 won’t be physical. Okami started production before 2028 so it should be fine.

So does Nintendo, Xbox , steam, epic I believe only gog said if you buy a game you own it. All the other are just lending you the game for the price you paid 🤷🏻♂️

Depending on the country, but I still own any game per law. Just like movies etc. Doesn't matter for example what Prime removed or back then what Movies were removed from PS3 PS Store. I still own them, also new stuff even it is vanished from the platform it was offered.

Hate to say it but I’ll probably buy the digital copy :/ I much prefer physical copies but I have a PS5 (no PC, no switch 2) and that shit was too expensive just to stop using it for upcoming games
