1980s Successful Polish private farmer, 1980

Post image

Agriculture was never collectivized in communist Poland, so private farms could exist. Those lucky enough to have fertile soil and good market connections could earn very good money through hard work and smart investment decisions. This farmer owns a house, a car, a dishwasher, and a color TV, and could even afford vacations in Hungary.

My grandpa had a Polonez with maybe 20k-km on it, sadly he passed and my grandma sold it for pennies.

Be thankful, they break when you drive them, and break even more if you let them sit

Had one for years and it was not as bad as you say. Honestly not much different than the Ford, opel or VW I had later.

It was much cheaper to repair though...
