On occasion we, the mod team, get requests for things that would break rule 3 (no solicitation). At other times people just break the rule and we have to remove the post. So, in this monthly post you get to break rule 3 and sell yourself or your stuff (within the realm of legality).
Some reminders/ground rules:
Rule 2 still stands, nothing illegal.
Rule 4 still stands, no personal information.
More on rule 4; if you want to send someone to your house or go to someone's house and need their address then keep it in private messages. Or stick to the basic internet rule; meet in a public place.
Unless you're an actual business don't give out your phone number or email address. If you post a phone number or email address and your post doesn't show up it's because the auto-mod caught it and one of the moderators will have to approve it.
So that's about it, if you have any questions go ahead and ask.
If you want to continue advertising your business/services outside of this thread you can buy adspace from Reddit, which is usually what we end up telling people to do.

The general consensus I get is that Osborn isn't really our guy, but he is by far our best choice available. Is that the general consensus of other democrats?
- Update: Thank you all, I got exactly what I was looking for which was some consensus that we are all bandwagoning behind Osborn as not our fav politician, but by far the best option we have available.

Can Pete answer any of the questions or just say “Democrat Dan” a dozen times in one response?

I'm prepping for a cycling trip from Omaha to Lincoln soon. Looking for advice, tips and anything you think may help. Preferably from those who have made the trip or others with bike-packing experience.
I plan to hit the road at 5am and follow the route given to me by Google Maps (photo attached). I've got my bike fitted with a rack and paniers, 3 water bottles, flat repair kit, extra tubes, nutrition.
Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I am writing this with an extremely heavy heart. Due to an emergency situation involving house foreclosure and an unexpected need to leave the country in a week, I am no longer able to care for my 11.5-year-old senior Maltese. The timeframe is too tight to obtain the required international vet certifications/USDA clearance, and the travel costs are out of reach.
My top priority right now is ensuring he finds a safe, loving, and comfortable home where he is cared for and won't feel abandoned. He is a sweet senior boy who deserves peace and comfort.
I am looking for suggestions or connections for:
I am already devastated by this situation, but I want to do everything possible to make this transition as gentle as possible for him. Any leads, recommendations, or help would mean the world to us.
Thank you.

OK, I'm officially confused. I saw all of the recent headlines about the Working People's party and the Nebraska Democratic Party going against it, so why would Crystal Rhodes be behind it as they're claiming she is? I don't get why they would take votes from Osborn or Denise Powell?
I also saw something about how Machaela Cavanaugh hired the attorneys Ricketts uses to get Respect Nebraska Voters off the ballot. And the NDP says he's funding the Working People's thing. Are they working together?
Anyone have more information?

This year, multiple petition efforts across the state are being investigated for alleged signature fraud. We're investigating how this kind of fraud happens — and what it means for the petition process in Nebraska moving forward.
We want to hear from residents across the state about their own experiences with petitions and petition circulators.
Please fill out this short form or comment here to share your experience. We value your privacy and won't publish any information without your consent.

The song Convoy, which was a chart topping hit and spawned a movie, started out as an Omaha local commercial for Old Home Bread. Chip Davis of Mannheim Steamroller was involved. His first jobs were as a commercial jingle composer in Ohio, and then he was a jingle composer in Omaha.
CB culture is passe now but it really was a thing once.

These wooden posts they just finished off N. 132nd near Standing Bear look great.

I know this is a problem spot, but if you read the article, it says that these glasses were being worn by an employee in the old market. And that's not cool at all. The old market association needs to know that this is not ok.

Does anyone know where I could get fresh squeaky cheese (cheese curds) in these parts. I just moved here from Utah and I miss it.

Figured there might be a few other Home Assistant users around Omaha who would find this useful.
I’ve been working on an unofficial Home Assistant integration for Metropolitan Utilities District (M.U.D.). It logs into the M.U.D. customer portal and pulls your gas and water consumption data into Home Assistant.
Right now it:
One thing I found while building it is that M.U.D.’s billing periods don’t line up particularly cleanly with calendar months. For example, a billing cycle might run Aug. 30 through Oct. 1 and be labeled October. I added an example dashboard that estimates which calendar month a billing cycle belongs to based on which month contains the majority of its days. I also have a separate chart that mirrors M.U.D.’s own billing-month presentation. The cards on this dashboard can be created by modifying the example yaml files found in examples/plotly.

It’s still fairly new, so I’d especially appreciate feedback from anyone else with a M.U.D. account who wants to try it and see if everything behaves correctly outside of my own account.
GitHub: DuckCowMooQuack/mud_utility
This is completely unofficial and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by M.U.D.
If anyone tries it, feel free to open an issue on GitHub if you run into something weird.

Closing on a house today and our agent recommended we enroll in OPPD's Electrical Line Plus coverage.
Anyone use this or have experience with a claim?

What's Covered:

Entry/breaker box circuitry
Fuses/circuit breakers
Wire failures & shorts
Wall outlets
Dimmers
Wall switches
Connections
Attached garage outlets, switches & interior wiring (excluding garage door system)

Hello, Omaha! This is Jeremy Turley, reporter with the Flatwater Free Press. We're hoping to learn more about the new Amazon delivery drones as they roll out in Papillion and the surrounding area. If you have gotten a package from one of these drones or if you have strong thoughts on the subject, I want to hear from you. (And yes, I've seen the video.) Feel free to DM me here or email me at jturley[at]flatwaterfreepress.org.
