MCP Gateway from OpenVPN

Their latest blog post announces it: https://blog.openvpn.net/introducing-mcp-gateway-one-front-door-for-every-ai-agent-your-business-runs

Looking for some feedback and OpenVPN users interested in the beta when it hits, that form is here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSePtfLbL9qD3an_k9X9VcscGTyyJwS1z5n0IDhRoScYfFv3jw/viewform?usp=send_form

I hadn't considered this direction from OpenVPN, but it makes sense.

I have thoughts… 🤔

As someone who keeps finding new things to connect AI agents to, the idea of one place where I can control what they can access (and what they can do) sounds compelling.

The audit trail is interesting, too. "What exactly did the AI do?" feels like a question we're gonna be asking a lot more often.

Also intrigued by limiting the tools exposed to an agent instead of dumping every available MCP tool into its context.

So… fewer credentials to wrangle, better permissions, less context clutter, and receipts for the robots.

I like it.

Which is probably exactly what the robots want me to say.

RUN. 🤖🏃‍♀️
