XP screen UI

This screen makes me absolutely livid. It functionally serves no purpose. It counts from tier 1 to the tier I'm at every. single. game. You can't see the XP you have earned if you didn't complete any challenges. The whole look of it is way too full, but also there's that huge empty space on the right??? If I wanted to see the rewards for the tiers completed I would just go to the battle pass. And all the rewards show up even after you claim them, further adding to the clutteredness. I just want to see the amount of XP I earned for playing a game, is that so hard? Was there a reason for this change?

I understand wanting to communicate how much BP progress you made, and I think that should be kept, but the fact that it starts at tier 1 is ridiculous.

I would like to see the most recent/claimable BP rewards at a glance, but having claimed and locked rewards all on there is a lot to look at.

I assume it's for any additional event they might be running at the same time. That space is exactly the size of the Meka event card (plus margins & screen edge gutter), so they can probably slot in another card the same size in that space.

Also, I find pressing the "View Challenges" button at the bottom gives slightly better info, but it's still mostly useless as it still lists challenges I completed ages ago, not just from this match.

IDK why they shipped this, TBH. This feels like a first pass proof of concept where none of the tracking/display actually works. None of it works.

The info is never accurate. Almost all of its parts are bugged out in one way or another. It's just straight up unfinished.

It's confusing, messy, unreliable, and the layout just doesn't work honestly. And it's not like it's a big long-awaited feature that HAD to come out this season. I really don't get why they didn't just take a few extra weeks/months to actually make it work AT ALL before shipping it.

Yes. As somebody who almost went into UI stuff this screen is so visualy useless it's super aggregating.

New UI team since Overwatch 2s release make a functioning UI challenge. (Yes it's been 4 years of this inconsistent change) And Overwatch 1 barely had any changes and it was just perfect.

My understanding is that these are still bugs. When the xp bar finishes climbing, it still repeats some weird chime of the bar reaching its end. Additionally, I imagine the Event card should go away after it's completed, and if it isn't a bug, it's just one of the glaring problems with this end page.

If I wanted to see the rewards for the tiers completed I would just go to the battle pass.

Hands down my biggest complaint, too. It should default to showing the challenges with an option to swap to the BP fodder rewards. If you want to see the challenges you completed, you can currently hit 'F2' on that screen for the better, expected page, that's still lacking a lot of utility (why only 3 challenges per category?).

Change for the sake of change. They want the game to keep feeling fresh. They like to make big changes every February and August. Sometimes it's UI, sometimes it's a progression system update, and most of the time, the experience is worse off for those changes. Stadium's new icons ruined the game mode from its already crumbling state.

Hopefully, we'll see the bug fixes for this end page with the midseason patch next week, then we can hate it for whatever parts of it they left as an objectively worse experience.

Did you realize that they show you the daily challenges progression too in this screen? You might not saw it because it flashed in a second and you can not go back to review them. You need to go to challenges page.

I hate the entire new Overhaul to the UI. It is utterly atrocious. Nothing beat good ol OW1's simplicity, italics, and no nonsense UI

UI changes are often tied directly to the backbone of the game's functionality, so it takes more than a simple hotfix to cleanup. They likely got to work on this during week 1 when they observed the problems, and the fix then needs QA and approvals before it gets into the final build that will be ready for midseason.
