This has never happened to me before, even during really long gaming sessions. Today I started a new run of Elden Ring, and after less than an hour of playing, my PS5 suddenly shut itself off, almost as if the power had been cut.

I normally play for several hours straight, so I don't think it's an overheating issue. I clean the fans every month, and the console is kept in an open, well-ventilated space. I've also played for much longer on days that were significantly hotter without having any issues.

When I turn it back on, it repairs the database and tells me that the console wasn't shut down properly. I have the base model.

Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks a lot for the help!

Recently got a PS5 for its upcoming drops. Using my main monitor I keep getting these lines appear across the top, I’ve changed settings in normal and safe mode to see if anything works and nothing has. It’s not the HDMI ports or cable, I’ve tried 3. My PC doesn’t experience this either. Any suggestions would be lovely

I've bought both PS5 Pro console and Disk Drive today from a reseller, CEX (like gamestop).

Error reads "Can't use your disc drive. You can't register any more disc drives to your PS5. To use your disc drive contact Customer Support."

I've tried pretty much every single option found online, from wiping the PS5, rebuilding database, restoring licenses and everything in between, nothing worked. When resetting the PS5, a message even appear saying it was deleting paired drives, but the problem persist.

Online it's hard to find a straight answer, will I need to deal with Sony's customer support or is there an easier way?

I know this isn't really a huge issue or anything and i don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but the Crunchyroll app on the Ps5 is broken, at least for me, everything else, Youtube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc. Works exactly as it should, but the Crunchyroll app locks the quality on 480p-720p and it has literally no manual way of changing it, before you ask, of course i tried every possible solution i could think of and search on Google and yes, my network connection is sitting at around 600 mbps coming and 300 mbps going, so that's more than enough for simple full hd video streaming. I've tried both WiFi and Ethernet, and other devices handle Crunchyroll flawlessly, it's only on the Ps5 that i've got this issue, that's why i believe the app is broken, simple as that. or idk, Crunchyroll's servers are weirdly interacting with Sony's? don't ask me, anyway, what's even more upsetting is i tried contacting Playstation support and they literally told me to manually change the quality, which is not an option on the Playstation app but anywhere else. Ugh.

Yesterday, I noticed when trying to boot from rest mode, my controllers had lost their connection to the console. The current fix has been to do a full reboot of the console, but the time between being connected and disconnected is shortening and becoming more frequent. I have tried wired connections, resetting the controllers, deleting the cache, and I'm on a wired LAN connection with no wireless connections. I am at a loss for what to try next. I changed the controller communication to be through USB, but I feel the problem is more with the console and not the controllers.

I deleted the game a while ago to make room for others. Now I want to play it again it's not in my library, hidden or otherwise, and the PS store has the price listed instead of "download" which implies that it wants me to buy it again.

Can I do anything or is Sony really gonna make me give them more money?

Hi, like many others my controller has started drifting cause this trash hunk of plastic is a clear downgrade to the ps4, but thats not what im here for, I have been using dualshock calibration on github, solid program, but late in the night as I was trying to fix the stick drift again the controller didn't connect to the PC like usual and my pc refused to read any inputs or fix the calibration on either stick, for some reason its like the pc is reading the connection differently despite me not making any changes, so in other words I cant fix the stick drift as long as my controller moves my mouse, i need help

This started a few months ago where my ps5 would occasionally show a black screen and about 3-4 seconds later the power would cut out on monster hunter wilds. Switching the power on and off would fix it but after some time it got worse and I couldn't play most games and even the home screen would cause this. Gave it to a technician to repair, he changed the liquid metal and deep cleaned it but the issue it still the same but a bit better now. Wondering if its the PSU but wouldn't the power cut instantly and not after 3 seconds

My current PlayStation has begun having immense problems so I purchased a new one, I would like to make my new PlayStation my main one, I heard online that in your settings you can only have 1 PlayStation with the console sharing and offline play feature? And this is where my question lies

What are the steps (for dummies please lol) I would need to take, to most safely and securely make my new PlayStation my main one, as in which settings must I disable on my old one, and enable on my new on, so that I have all of my games that I can play offline and never get kicked out of my psn

I’ve had my PS5 for a few months now (April, I believe) and it refuses to read discs as of yesterday (multiple games and 4k blu rays have been tried). I’ve tried rebuilding the architecture and disconnecting and reconnecting the drive. A disc icon shows up on screen, disappears then the eject button no longer works and I have to turn the whole console off to get the disc out. Is this just the drive? Or a larger issue? I’ve submitted a repair request with Sony but if there’s an easier way I’m open to suggestions (I tried a laser cleaner but no luck).

This has been an issue I noticed last night and assumed it was just temporary however each time I've tried to play today I've has issues again, my phone has great wifi connection and stability as well as my laptop, downstairs tv and streaming applications on my PS5 but it's just the games I try and play that struggle?

Siege and Fortnite are where I recognise the lag the most, it's consistent throughout the whole game (siege says "packet loss" in the corner and Fortnite shows the wifi symbol with a Red Cross indicating connection issues). I try and move and it teleports me back a couple steps over and over again I also have delay issues when using gadgets etc, when I test the internet it has an average of 255.5 download speed, 15 upload speed this was around 320 download speed and 125 upload speed before the issues started.

Can anyone suggest what may be happening? Or how I could resolve this? Thank you in advances.

Hi everyone, I need help. I'm having an overheating problem on my 30th anniversary PS5, it happens while playing Spider-Man 2. If it's cold I can play, but the ventilation goes really loud, if it's hot I either get the warning message or the console shuts down by itself as it happened this morning.

I did my research also in this sub Reddit and as I understood it's probably a liquid metal issue. I have my slim vertical even though in a well open spot and I avoided playing while the temperature was super hot, but here we are.

I tried to open it, I cleaned the outside but I'm not expert and I don't have the screw to take out the fan and clean it properly. Thing is I saw the fan and they didn't seem very dirty.

The PS5 is under warranty until the end of November, so I can ask Sony to help me solve the issue. My question is, if I do so, will I receive the same model? It's the limited 30th anniversary edition and I really like it so if there's even the slightest chance of getting the standard model back without warnings I'd rather pay someone to fix it in my area. Does anyone know how it works when you send a limited edition console to be fixed?

The fact it happens when it's hot and it doesn't when it's a bit more chill means that the liquid metal is not completely gone or are there other explanations for this?

This brand new ps5 controller already got stick drift. If i even gently touch the right analog stick it slowly makes the screen go upwards. So damn annoying. It started yesterday i believe. Any idea why? Is there anything I could do? i cant just buy a new one, i had to sell my old one to get this.
