September is the start of a new golden age of gaming. This is the era we've been waiting for.
From this point on, there amazing games coming out almost non-stop, all the way until summer of 2027. You guys already know everything coming, so I don't need to list them, but this is wild, almost like it's 2007 all over again where every gaming publisher is putting out their best work to date. It's an amazing time to be a gamer and I don't think we'll forget that September 2026 was a special month that kickstarted a new golden age of gaming. This is pretty much the new defining era of gaming most of us have been waiting for, we had a little dead air after the new 007 game for a little while, but now we're going to have so many games from here to middle of 2027 that we won't know what to do with them all or how to find the time to play them all. Despite all the hate, negativity, and trolls on here, I hope everyone, even the haters, have the time of their lives and get the chance to really indulge in their favorite hobby because I know that will take the misery away when you get into a new game that lives up to or exceeds the hype. Enjoy yourselves fam

Maybe is an asinine question, but…
Is the Pro worth it if I always play in Quality Mode on the base PS5?

If you have a Series X, is it worth buying a ps5 pro and an OLED for gta 6
My understanding is the cpu is only 10% more powerful, but the GPU is quite a bit more powerful. Realistically how much better do you think the game will look/run? Just seems like a massive investment if the game just runs/looks marginally better. I really wish they put a more powerful CPU in the Pro.

The Pro is coming a long way from all the hate it received on launch
It's crazy that now its sold out everywhere and you can only buy the console from scalpers at 1.5k.
When it launched it was pretty hated on because the support was lacking, but Sony and some developers actually made it worth it with pssr 2.0, which was promised at launch but came 1 year later. now with gta6 trailer and hype, its considered the best option but in the past it was the worst. 1 year made a big difference and im happy i made this purchase before all this hype. I made the upgrade from xbox series S in May 2025.

[opinion]Why 30fps on GTA6(and the games following it) may be the right choice
As more and more information comes out about GTA 6, it seems increasingly likely that the PS5 Pro version will run at 30 FPS, with only a small chance of a 40 FPS mode. I’ll discuss why that may actually be the best decision Rockstar could make—not only for GTA 6, but also for the games that follow it.
- What Exactly Does the PS5 Pro Improve?
The PS5 Pro’s SoC consists of a whopping 21 billion transistors, compared with the base PS5’s 10.6 billion. So where did those extra 10 billion transistors go?
Well, almost none of them went toward improving the CPU. The core count, microarchitecture, and cache structure are all largely the same, except for an 10% clock rate boost. Instead, nearly all of those additional transistors went into the GPU, including more compute units, improved ray tracing capabilities, and AI-related features.
The extra memory bandwidth also benefits the GPU significantly, but it provides little advantage to the CPU because memory latency remains mostly unchanged. With these changes in mind, we can expect the PS5 Pro to deliver a major graphical improvement over the base PS5, and a slightly better frame rate.
- How a Game Frame Is Rendered
To produce a game frame, both the CPU and GPU are needed. First, the CPU runs the game logic and decides what needs to be drawn. Then it sends draw calls to the GPU, which renders the final image.
For example, suppose a frame takes 8 ms of CPU time. At 60 FPS, each frame has a total budget of about 16.7 ms. That leaves the GPU only around 8 ms to finish rendering the frame. At 30 FPS, however, each frame has a budget of about 33.3 ms, leaving the GPU around 25 ms to complete its work.
So why can’t developers simply reduce the CPU time to 4 ms for 60 FPS instead of adjusting GPU load around the CPU? The problem is that CPU workloads in games have several important characteristics:
a) They are difficult to reduce.
You can’t simply cut out a small piece of game logic to fit a tighter frame-time budget without affecting the game itself.
b) They are difficult to split.
Large chunks of CPU work cannot always be easily divided into smaller pieces because the game must respect causal relationships. Certain calculations must happen before others.
As a result, each frame often has a relatively fixed amount of CPU work. When a game targets 60 FPS, the GPU gets only a fraction of the rendering time it would have at 30 FPS.
Things become even more complicated because CPU load is usually less predictable than GPU load. In some frames, the CPU workload may spike to, say, 15 ms, making a stable 60 FPS virtually impossible without significant sacrifices—which often means reducing the complexity, scale, or interactivity of the game.
- From the Developers’ Perspective
AAA games are expensive and risky to make. When a studio develops a game, it has to make sure the game works well for most players in a reasonable and consistent way. Because of this, developers usually choose the base console as the baseline when designing and testing the game’s core features.
That means the core design is decided early and generally does not change much across different hardware. This includes the main gameplay systems, core mechanics, rendering pipeline, asset design, and world complexity.
If developers are forced to target 60 FPS, guess what, the 60 FPS mode becomes the baseline! That means they must make compromises and spend development effort meeting that performance target—effort that could otherwise be used to make the game more interesting, more beautiful, and more ambitious.
This can limit developers’ ability to explore new possibilities, such as more complex interactions, deeper rendering pipelines, denser environments, and more lifelike game worlds.
In that sense, forcing every major game to target 60 FPS can become a lose-lose situation for the industry. Players may get a smoother frame rate, but at the cost of richer, more ambitious game design.

Finally bought Crimson Desert after being on the fence for ages (PS5 Pro early impressions)
I picked up Crimson Desert less than a week ago (it was recently on sale in the UK, might still be!), and I’ve been totally hooked from the first minute. I’ve never really experienced a game with this kind of grand scale. As soon as I started playing, I just knew this was gonna be something I wouldn't be able to put down.
I was on the fence for a long time about buying it because I kept hearing how performance issues plagued the PS5 Pro version. Obviously, it does have its issues. The pop-in is atrocious, and certain things like puddles and shiny surfaces look very, very odd depending on the angle you look at them.
But performance-wise? It does have its drops, but I’m not gonna catastrophise it like everyone else on here seems to do. Like any game, it has its issues, but with my setup, it actually feels insanely smooth most of the time. For context, I’m playing on a PS5 Pro hooked up to a 27-inch 4K Mini-LED monitor.
If you have a good monitor capable of outputting good HDR, definitely turn it on for this game. Try these settings if your setup matches mine!
PS5 System Settings:
120Hz: Enabled
ALLM: Enabled
PSSR: Enabled
VRR: Enabled
HDR: On When Supported
In-Game Settings:
Preset: Balanced
PSSR Sharpness: 80
V-Sync: Off
Fixed 4K Output: Off
120Hz: On
Night Tone Mode: On
HDR Settings: Tweak yourself to suit your screen
Particle Effects: 50
Camera Shake: 0
Chromatic Aberration: Off
Depth of Field: Off
Blur Intensity: Off
Graphically, the game is fantastic. Playing on a Mini-LED, the colours and lighting are super potent. I’m also finding the story really engaging at the moment. I think jumping in right as the new Enhanced version dropped definitely helped, since it expanded on the main questline and added those extra story moments.
If you’re still on the fence about buying it, I’d say just do it. It really does deserve a shot.

Pulse Elite first impressions + one question
I've been playing World of Warships Legends for quite a while, and for most of that time I didn't really have many people to play with.
Recently I've started making some new friends and getting into division games more often. and that's when I realized:
Apparently, if you want to yell FOCUS THE CRUISER! at your teammates, a TV speaker isn't enough. 😂
I went through a ridiculous number of options and eventually decided to go with the Sony PULSE Elite. My thinking was pretty simple: since I'm on PS5, I figured staying inside the PlayStation ecosystem would probably give me the least amount of bullshit when it comes to compatibility, settings, connection etc.
I went to MediaMarkt yesterday and picked up the W Case version. Got home, set everything up and jumped straight into WoWS Legends.
And honestly... first impressions are really good. the 3D audio actually surprised me. I can clearly pick up things like ship engine sounds, ocean ambience, main battery firing, ricochets...
It makes the whole game feel a bit more alive, and I can definitely tell where some sounds are coming from. then I jumped into a division with the guys. They said my mic sounded clean, and I could hear them extremely clearly as well. So far, zero complaints. pretty happy with the purchase.
Of course, it's been like... one day. 😂 Ask me again in six months when I'm sitting there holding a piece of plastic in my hand wondering where the rest of my headset went.
Which brings me to my question...
I've seen quite a few people on reddit mentioning that the plastic around the area slightly above the ear headband connection can eventually develop cracks. Has anyone here actually experienced this with the PULSE Elite?
I'm particularly interested in people who have been using theirs for 6+ months or 1+ year.
Was it a real issue, or is Reddit just doing its usual thing where three people break something and suddenly everyone owns a ticking time bomb? 😂

TV requirements
Is it true that all you need is
4K LED (how many led is there ffs? Qled, led, oled?)
120hz or more
VRR and ALLM
HDMI 2.1
To get the most out of the ps5 pro?
TCL 50C6K, is the one I want to buy or do you guys have any good or cheaper alternatives? I could spend a little more but rather not.

Is my TV good for ps5 pro?
Hey everyone I recently ordered a ps5 pro and was wondering if my 4K HDR QLED tv with 120hz and vrr is good enough for my pro, or should i upgrade to an oled?

Help me decide: Should I upgrade to the PS5 Pro?
I currently have the PS5 Slim CFI-2000 and an LG G6 OLED 65". I’ve been thinking about upgrading to the PS5 Pro, mainly because it might be the last PlayStation console with a physical disc drive and PSSR.
But I’m still torn about whether I should upgrade now or just wait for the PS6, even though I have a feeling Sony might release the PS6 as a digital-only console.
What would you do in my situation? 🤔

[Discussione] Ho speso 880€ per PS5 Pro + GTA 6 e me ne sto pentendo.

Have I been scammed by Sony? I bought a PS5 Pro, but my LG OLED only displays 'PS5', which is the exact same as my base PS5.

VRR makes a huge difference
I've been playing my Pro on an older OLED (Sony A8h, I think) that does not support VRR and I've been pretty happy with it.
Last night I finally got around to hooking up the Pro to my new LG 39" Ultrawide PC monitor and I was shocked by the difference it makes. My TV just really isn't doing this system justice.
So, I guess I have to buy a new TV. 😃 I'll tell my spouse that it's a necessity.

Lets Go Dawnwalker
Bin ja mal sehr gespannt drauf, zumindest bekomm ich jetzt auch einen Eindruck wie das Spiel ohne Day One Patch läuft und freue mich dann auf den 60 FPS Modus.

Halo Campaign Evolved on Pro
I’m thinking about buying the Halo Campaign Evolved for my pro. For those who have it how is it? I also wanna play co-op with my partner
Anyone here who has played Hogwarts Legacy on the Pro?
I bought a PS5 Pro for GTA 6 mainly and before this i had a Slim Disc PS5 base, the difference was very noticeable when I compared games like TLOU, Ghost of Yotei etc. I just started Hogwarts on the Pro and I am not sure how I feel about it. I played on Performance but I do still see occasional FPS drops or like micro stutters.
