Remains of the D.T. Sheridan, a 383-ton tugboat towing coal barges that ran aground in fog of a Maine lighthouse island in November 1948, as seen today (Sept.1, 2026).

Despite the life preserver and cross in the final pic, no souls were lost on that day as a local fisherman helped the entire crew find the safety of land.
