Megathread: 0.5.0 Feedback
We think there have been many threads with well-thought-out, specific, and (sometimes) controversial proposals, but also many duplicate threads with the same proposals. We'll use this thread to catalogue and group the clearest and most common ones:
- Ideally, game feedback posts should include specific examples of the problem and have new information or proposals to avoid duplicating the content of past threads.
- Game feedback can still be posted as individual threads, and do not have to be posted here as comments.
- Duplicate feedback posts that cover the same ground as the posts already in here may be removed.
- We aren't affiliated with GGG, so we have no control over whether they address these or not.
New and specific feedback
- Temple is too hard to balance and should be removed
- Delirium is not rewarding enough
- Portals are too close to map device, 2
- Highlight rare and unique monsters for visibility
- League mechanic blocks path
- Awkward wording for "Hits with Shield Skills which Heavy Stun Enemies break fully Break Armour
- Too many traveling maps needed to get to starting areas for atlas tree quests, 2

- Make used tablets not tradeable
- Runeforging deletes socketed jewels without warning
- Aldur's Legacy is too rare and inaccessible
- MTX blinking icon is annoying

Performance
- Performance optimization guide

Game Feedback A "simple™" change that could make the campaign faster without cheapening it. Map reveal radius
How many times have you found yourself revealing almost an entire zone only to discover that a 3-pixel box was covering the portal you needed? A zone you would have finished in 3-5 minutes turns into 15 as you reveal the entire perimeter looking for the way forward. If this happens once or twice per act, you could easily be adding hours to a campaign playthrough.
What if GGG increased the reveal radius of the fog of war on the map? I'm not suggesting anything massive like doubling it, but even 10% could go a long way. People have suggested smaller zones, more objective markers (some of which have now been added), or reducing monster speed and density to make the campaign faster. This is obviously subjective, but I think a slightly larger reveal radius could accomplish a lot without really changing the campaign itself. You'd still need to explore and figure out where to go, but you'd be less likely to miss an entrance you were already right next to.
The average player isn't committing zone layouts to memory, especially when they aren't completely static from league to league. This could make the campaign faster for the average player without cheapening the experience or ruining speedrunning. Campaign and zone knowledge would still matter. And I'm being generous when I say "average player" because I'm a PoE 1 no-lifer of several years and I'm writing this...
Thoughts?

Cautionary Tale Still sane, Exile?
Killed Zarokh, leveled up, died (~50% to 0% Honour), and failed fourth ascendancy trial; all at once.
I'm going to take a break and lie in my backyard for a bit. Won't try this again for another week, I'm sure.
Stay sane out there.

Fluff & Memes Geonor and Brakkus walk in to a bar...
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
They surprisingly start to fight each other while I decide to grab the popcorn and watch the show. Geonor then throws a sucker punch at me and wants to pick a fight. Luckily I have my two green imaginary friends with me, and we quickly show him who's the boss in this bar. Geonor, out of his citadel, apologizes for the trouble and gifts us with a fragment.
*Reupload with better quality (still pretty crappy tho, sorry)

Discussion What's your luckiest drop this season?
Title. For me it was Hinekora's Lock. Followed distantly by a Rite of Passage that dropped as 20 second Cat.
Perhaps not crazy compared to some giga-blasters, but the lock was major for me.
What drops made your heart skip a beat?

Discussion Return from 10 maps of breach
Hello exiles! I'm doing breach on city maps while farming for level 100 and today I made a record return. Dropped 13 refined sybilants and 6 refined reavers from 10 maps. Usually my return is around 4-6div/map, now it was almost 17div/map. Breach is meta imo for both exp and currency.

Discussion We have 17 servers and here is their rough distribution (i highlighted it in paint). Can we get few servers in the circled zone so those people dont have to play with 100+ pings?

Basically the title. I know that the servers go into locations that have a lot of players, but i feel like few servers within this circle would give nice quality of life for a substential amount of people.
If i were to give an example from myself and friends, we have minimum 60 ms ping from Turkey. That number itself isnt big but it forces you to play predictive(for poe1, i dont think they added lockstep to poe2 yet) which means huge risk in hardcore and frequent annoyances like rubberbanding and client/server desync. And Turkey isnt even that far from Europe, pings in Middle-East, Central Asia, and Africa would be even worse.
TLDR: Would be nice if we had few servers in the circle shown in the image.

Game Feedback Wife and I are starting the game this weekend
Any tips and or trick to start with would be great. Neither of us really got into PoE 1.
Edit: when I start a new character it gives me a ton of starting locations. Is one better than the other or does it even matter?
Thanks all

Information 0.5.5 Quick Guide on Atlas Soft Brick Nodes

Hi there, I was trying to find a more comprehensive guide on soft brick nodes that should be avoided on 0.5.5 but couldn't find any really "extensive" list, so here is a list mostly focused in farming & XP with a few mentions on difficult scalling nodes as well for the ones that want to avoid those.
Group 1 - Do Not Pick
- Reactive Hiveseeding - Adds Hives on nearby maps which block the map from having unstable breaches. Survival of the Fittest - Improve Effectiveness on Desert packs but reduce the number of rares to 1.
- The Lost Architect - Enables Zantipi's Medallion to the medallion pool, reducing the chance to get the other medallions.
- I Know Your Chilhood Fears - Adds Ancient Liquid Emotions to the loot table, most of them are garbage so you will have a better divine/hour in Simulacrums without this one.
- Escalating Rivalry - Gives Rogue Exiles 5% chance to flee to an adjacent map, particularly bad if you farming Abyss + Rogue Exiles early in the league.
Group 2 - Should Not Pick/Situational
- Living Metal - Allow Azmeri Spirits to seek out and possess Strongboxes, bad if you're trying to send your wisps to the boss, can be useful if you want to farm Hare or try to get Rite of Passage from Possessed Strongboxes (Very low drop chance anyway).
- Man Trap - 10% Chance for Essence Monsters to be Rogue Exiles, if you're farming Essences this will make your farm much slower.
- Secrets of the Ancients - Adds biome-restricted temple room outcomes, reducing the chance to spawn global lineage gem rooms (A hotfix was made in 0.5.3 so I don't know if this is still necessary).
- Any +Item Rarity Nodes - Bricks negative rarity farming.
Group 3 - Difficult Scalling Only
- Bring Me Your Leader - Ritual Summoning Circles have a 5% chance to spawn a citadel boss.
- Hunt the Apex - Lets Azmeri Spirits possess map bosses, can make bosses dramatically harder
- Uncommon Alliances - Rogue Exiles can appear in pairs
Hope that helps.

Fluff & Memes I beat arbiter of ash on HC!!!
Hi everyone . So I’m super new to poe2. But been playing Diablo my whole life so I do have a lot of experience in the genre . I finally grinded my essence drain to level 90 and I figured this will be as strong as I can possibly get to kill arbiter of Ashe . I got a softcore character to 90 and I died about a million times on this fight . So I fully accepted my fate here seeing I got to 90 and that’s a very good accomplishment. Well after almost dying 3 times , i actually killed him !! I I was full on shaking and scared lmao . I have no one to really share this accomplishment . But hopefully you guys can be proud of me <3

Question How do people achieve high crit?
I'm playing ice shot deadeye, and while the clear is great, I've reached a bit of a DPS/survivability plateau and I'm not entirely sure where to go from here. Reading through commentary, I see folks talking about how important it is to grab as much crit damage as possible while getting to 50% crit (before Garukhan's). The in game tooltip has me at 114k DPS, 26% crit chance, +275% crit damage in my hideout ( https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/Morgoth314-0509/runesofaldur/character/Lordea ).
The issue is that when I look at upgrades, any given replacement w/ +10-30% increased crit chance is VERY expensive for a small(?) 1-3% increased crit chance. Am I missing something or have I reached a point where every upgrade is 50-100+ div? Is there another place that I am missing out on a lot of crit? Or is crit a false lead for me at this point, and I should be looking for damage elsewhere?

Question Should I create a guild if we mainly play co-op?
We are really loving PoE2 and when the three of us were playing together last night (one XBOX couch co-op and one PC in the same room), the question came up as to whether or not we should just buy guild stashes to make sharing stuff easier.
Currently, couch co-op on the XBOX uses my account with all stashes purchased there, and the PC has their own stashes (none purchased yet as he's just starting).
Thoughts?

Game Feedback Elemental spells are undercooked
I play Chronomancer exclusively and generally avoid elemental spells. I didn't think they were amazing in 0.1, and after the infusions update, they felt even worse. The big problem is almost every spell build is some form of Spark + CoC Comet. Spark is sometimes substituted for another high area coverage spammable fast-hitting spell, but the build concept is the same. I want to provide some personal insights as a 3k hour Chrono player who has hundreds of hours on different spell builds. These are subjective observations in bullet point format, so nothing revelatory, and how much each point contributes to the problem varies.
- Comet isn't the problem, just a symptom, and continuing to nerf it won't help. The issue is there aren't any other spells like Comet. Every other spell with similar impact has a long cooldown, so they're pretty unusable with Cast-Ons.
- Everyone wants Cast-Ons in their spell build because it's the most fun way to amplify damage. You can run a different spell than Comet as your payoff to make a different-feeling build, but when you ask yourself, "Why am I not playing Comet instead?" there's usually no answer.
- Lightning Conduit and Eye of Winter could be great competitors to Comet if they had no cooldown. The cooldowns could be replaced with another restriction like a long cast time to keep them as payoff skills rather than spammable ones.
- Every spell build relying on the same few infusion-generators contributes to how they all feel the same to play. Powered by Verisium helps, but it requires further stretching your build to accommodate for runic ward as another mechanic.
- Mirage Archer can auto-use channel skills, so why can't Cast-Ons? Incinerate and Flameblast would be great Cast-On candidates since you could avoid the slow movement from casting them, just like Comet.
- Spells with limit are decent on Cast-Ons, but they can't compete with Comet because spamming them is useless. More sources of "Elemental Spells have +1 Limit" would go a long way.
- Repeating, echoing, and cascading spells is awesome, but most spells can't echo or cascade. Ice Nova, Comet, (and Bone Cage) the only spells that fully take advantage of echoing and cascading without having some restriction like limit.
- Spark is the only main-spell that doesn't feel useless when non-infused.
- Living Bomb feels terrible in every way. It's tiny, has 1 limit, requires a target, and needs to meet a damage threshold to work.
- Frost Bomb is required on every build because it applies the most exposure, and it's the only spell that applies exposure at all.
I hope they address some of the big issues with elemental spells in 1.0. Even a bit of quality of life would go a long way. I'm hoping it's not another season of Spark + CoC Comet, but nerfing these two spells into the ground would also feel bad. Spells have so much potential, but they currently feel so awkward, almost every player sticks with the least-awkward two spells.

Question Varashta or Gemling in 0.5?
Im struggling to decide which league start i should start. Never tried Varashta and never tried Gemling. I have many chars on Monk, druid, amazon. For Gemling im thinking maybe grenades or gas grenades? I have read that Gemling can transition into other builds in endgame, but Varashta looks very fun as well. Any experience or recommendations are appreciated.

Discussion I finished my first ever poe league yesterday ask me anything.
An awesome and fun experience aside from a handful of gripes and learning curve. Having never played poe1 it felt like poe2 at the launch of early access would be the best time to try and its quickly become my favorite of the genre. This was the first league ive ever tried due to the fear of lack of knowledge but quickly found anything I needed because of the community that loves this game.
