Righteous : Builds What build compliments a kineticists?
To give a quick summary to people who don't wanna read the full explanation, me and the BF recently started playing WotR multiplayer. He's the KC and chose to make a kineticist. What build would you recommend I make to play with him that will compliment and support him?
The longer version: I've played a lot of WotR, I'm a huuuge fan of the game. Beaten the game multiple times as a few different mythic paths and classes. And tried out a toooon of various classes at least until around lvl 12-15. When I saw the recent multiplayer mod on this reddit, I knew it was time to play through the game again. Me and the BF have played a ton of various video games together while we've been dating, recently we beat Rogue Trader in fact, a game I recommended specifically because I loved WotR and I had heard owlcat had added co op to it.
And in my experience playing things like this, for a build to really feel good I need to feel like I'm contributing something meaningful to the party. Like if I cast fireball and the BF just casts bigger, better, fireball the next turn, that isn't really gonna feel great. But if I can do something like give him haste so he can cast two fireballs, then that would feel a lot better. The only problem with this is just... Well... Kineticists are fucking busted. I was hesitant about him choosing that just for that reason. They can really trivialize a lot of the difficulty out of the game. So that leads me to my question today, what can I create to play with him that will let me contribute and feel like a valuable member of the team?
I have a few possible ideas, but I'm not really sure how good they are. Namely, witch, wizard, monk, or skald. Witch for hexes, wizard for buff spells and some occasional utility, monk to just be an incredibly tanky frontliner and maybe trip some people, and skald because they give some solid team wide buffs. The issue though is like... I'm not sure witch hexes are really all that valuable when a fire kineticist is just hitting touch AC. They don't hurt but... I'm not sure it'll be helpful enough to really feel useful. Wizard I'm pretty sure could provide stat buff spells and haste and similar things potentially, but kineticists already get some various self buffs and like... Regardless of the rest of the party, someone on the team will be able to provide haste or whatnot if we want that. So I wouldn't really be doing anything that meaningfully different. As for monk, they are super great, but running into melee is maybe questionable. Kineticists are extremely busted but one thing they don't have is the ability to be selective with their blasts and I don't want to get exploded all the time, nor do I want to make the BF have to avoid hitting me. I could just hang back and whatnot but then like... How useful am I really being? And finally my worry with skald is just... Are their buffs even going to be anything a kineticist really cares about? I haven't played much skald so I'm not super familiar with them but my understanding is that it's mostly barb rage style buffs and those are great and all but like... Don't really think giving the kineticist pounce is gonna change the situation much ya know?
So anyways, I figured I'd turn to you guys. Is there a class out there that's specifically good at supporting a kineticist? Or maybe that covers some weakness it has super well? What are y'alls thoughts and opinions?
P.S. Also thank you for reading this post and I hope everyone reading this has a wonderful day. You guys are a fantastic community and I'm grateful to have a place to ask such a question at all <3

Righteous : Builds Can't decide on a build
Thinking about doing either an oracle/angel who'll start with battle mystery using glaives and then later switch into full caster merged spellbook shenanigans, or a sorcerer (or maybe magic deceiver) Azata.
Any advice would be appreciated

Kingmaker : Modded Builds Ice caster build
I'll start my second run on kingmaker, on challenging difficulty, and want my MC to be a ice caster.
I'm call of the wild for extra classes, and the mods new companion classes. I'll be using Valerie and Nok-Nok, and won't use Tristian, but I don't know what the rest of my party gonna be.
For my build, I don't really wanna do multiclass, specially for just dips.
My main options are winter witch witch, crossblooded sorcer (elemental water + white dragon) or water domain druid.
I apreciate any suggestion for builds, party composition and gear.
Also, sorry for any gramatical error, english's not my first language.

Kingmaker : Game I don't know if I'm ready to say Kingmaker is better than WOTR
Kingmaker has a lot...and I mean a LOT...that annoys me with its game design. But I just completed the Season of Blooms and wow, that was an experience. There is so much variety in enemies and locales in this game compared to WotR's "oops! all demons" but while I enjoy the dark atmosphere of Wrath, I can't help but enjoy the lighter and political-driven story of Kingmaker. It's what keeps me coming back despite all the frustrations lol.
Things Wrath still has over Kingmaker (other than the QoL improvements) are the music and companions and class choices. I like the companions of Kingmaker but none have drawn me in like Wrath's did. Nok-Nok is funny tho.
We'll see how I feel if/when I finish as I'm still in chapter 3. Got 200 in-game days to kill, now that the main part is over.

Righteous : Game Ineluctable prison mythic reaction
I had seen a post listing all the mythic path reaction, and some of them had unique ways of opening the gate to the Ineluctable Prison, like legend punchin their way through. My mythic path is Azata, and the list says that it’s possible to force the gate open by summoning the winds of Elysium. However, when I interacted with the gate, there was no option related to my mythic path, only a Trickery check, a Use Magic Device check, and the option to use the key.
In what situation would the mythic option appear?

Righteous : Mods I made a Wrath mod with more character options and changes to base classes and wanted to share it!
Do you enjoy spending 2 hours in character creation reading feats and different class and race abilities? Well then I have the right thing for you!
Jokes aside I really enjoy character creation and the build options in the game and it is what keeps me coming back to the game. Because of this I made my own mod to add more content to the basegame like new feats, spells, racial heritages, character traits and buffs to archetypes I felt are too weak.
If you want to try out the mod and dont like some of the additions you can toggle each one on and off in the unity mod menu.
Hope some of you will enjoy it!
PS: I did not test the mod with other mods so I assume things will certainly break with other mods installed that change the same things. Feel free to report bugs so I can fix them!

Righteous : Story Differences in Campaign Across Systems
Hi all
My wife and I have recently started WotR, her on XboxSX and me on PS5.
We've finished what I assume is chapter 1 and chosen our first Mythic level, the conversations in the camp a d set out into the world and noted many differences in our games.
For instance, she received a Buckle missions than led her to obtaining a Covenant of the Inheritor, has been able to convince the queen to join the crusade, discovered a mysterious elf in camp and many other changes from my own.
There was no broken buckle on my my Marker Square, and I couldn't make any choices with the queen and there was no elf, so I wondered if there are such major differences based on alignment, choices or versions?
Thanks

Righteous : Game Final Boss Spoiler
Does Areelu have any particular weakness during the final encounter? My Wizard Azata dogwalked most of the game on hard from around act 3 onward. Playful darkness, midnight isles, echo of fury arena, none of it was particularly hard but Areelu proved to be a major pain. She would only take around 150 damage from my stormbolts and her 50% concealment rendered hellfire rays pretty ineffective. Is there any strategy that is particularly effective or do you just have to hope for good rolls?

Righteous : Builds Critweaver: Caster-to-Gish Legend Build for Unfair
Dual-Cursed Oracle 20 / Sorcerer 2 / Dragon Disciple 4 / Mystic Theurge 4 / Eldritch Knight 10
Path: Angel merged with Oracle, then Legend
Role: Pounce gish: divine engine, arcane self-defense, crit-triggered swift casting
Main weapon: Fauchard progression - Mighty Blow of Good for safety, Bearer of Sorrow situationally, Rushlight at endgame
Build status: Research-checked for the unmodded PC main campaign; mathematically legal, but not yet personally playtested through Unfair
Build premise
New to WotR, but with nearly 1,000 hours in Kingmaker.
I wanted to build something new, but ended up 'upgrading' my existing Critweaver build.
I originally intended to do something new: a pure blaster transitioning from Angel to Legend as Oracle 20 / Loremaster 10 / Hellknight Signifer 10. Research rather than testing changed the conclusion. Caster level 40 does not create additional spells per day beyond ordinary spell progression, and the signature Angel justice spells ignore spell resistance. Extra caster level therefore improves damage and duration more often than breadth or endurance. Even allowing for repeated Bolt or Storm of Justice, that did not compare cleanly with the sustained output of a melee or ranged Legend. The result is this upgraded Critweaver: Oracle-Angel first, then a level-40 pounce gish with a second level-9 spellbook.
The build below is research-checked for the unmodded PC main campaign, not personally playtested through Unfair; the Spellbook and Feat Selections are particularly preliminary, and I am only about two hours into WotR. Dedicated Legend builds are sparse, and the Oracle/Sorcerer Mystic Theurge examples I found differ materially from this chassis. Comments and corrections remain welcome.
| Caster -> Gish: Final BAB 31 produces seven BAB-derived attacks; Haste makes eight. Oracle Battle's level-20 capstone brings pounce online at character level 20, while Eldritch Knight 10 eventually turns a confirmed critical into a swift spell. Before Legend this is primarily an Oracle-Angel; the complete Critweaver engine arrives only at character level 40. |
|---|
The arithmetic
| Metric | Result | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Base attack bonus | 31 | Oracle 15 + Sorcerer 1 + DD 3 + MT 2 + EK 10 |
| BAB attacks | 7 | +31/+26/+21/+16/+11/+6/+1; Haste adds one |
| Oracle casting | CL 24 | Oracle 20 + four Mystic Theurge advances |
| Sorcerer casting | CL 18 | Sorc 2 + DD 3 + MT 4 + EK 9; reaches level-9 arcane spells |
| Key capstones | Pounce + Spell Critical | Full attack on charge; confirmed crit primes a swift spell |
| Final base CHA | 34 | 20 creation + ten level boosts + Legend's +4; before equipment |
| Base AC | 22 naked; 25 vs. melee | Final CHA 34 gives +12 through Nature's Whispers; Aasimar Wings adds +3 dodge against melee, before gear or spells |
Reality check: this is not a guaranteed solo or blind no-reload clear. Unfair accuracy, crit confirmation, charge geometry, concealment, and scripted encounters can all break the ideal loop.
1. Character creation
The stat line is deliberately extreme: CHA drives casting, AC, slots, and saves; Angelkin and Dragon Disciple ungrades STR, while CON 16 protects the Last Azlanti run. Before Nature's Whispers at Oracle 3, naked AC is only 8 - let the wolf take first contact.
| Choice | Selection |
|---|---|
| Race / heritage | Aasimar, Angelkin (+2 STR, +2 CHA); take Wings at character level 11 |
| Alignment / deity | Lawful Good; Iomedae or Sarenrae are clean thematic choices |
| Background | Pickpocket (+2 initiative). Martial Weapon Proficiency is taken explicitly before Eldritch Knight. |
| Oracle | Dual-Cursed; Nature primary; Battle from Second Mystery at Mythic 1 |
| Curses | Powerless Prophecy progressing; Plagued secondary. Freedom of Movement later neutralizes the opening stagger while the initiative and uncanny-dodge benefits remain. |
| Companion | Wolf. Excellent early trip/Outflank body; capped at 20 and not the endgame main tank |
| Arcane entry | Standard Sorcerer, Draconic (Gold) bloodline; then Dragon Disciple 4 |
| Weapon | Fauchard. The exotic feat is justified by reach and the full item progression, not by Bearer of Sorrow alone. |
Ability scores
| Stat | Point buy | At creation | Final base | Job |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| STR | 16 | 18 | 26 | Attack and damage; +2 Angelkin, +4 DD, +4 Legend |
| DEX | 7 | 7 | 11 | Initiative/Reflex only; Nature's Whispers replaces DEX for AC |
| CON | 16 | 16 | 20 | Deliberate Last Azlanti buffer; do not trade it back into an odd STR score |
| INT | 7 | 7 | 11 | Lean early allocation; Legend's +4 supports the post-20 skill budget |
| WIS | 7 | 7 | 11 | Will/Skill levels only; Bestow Grace later adds CHA to saves |
| CHA | 18 | 20 | 34 | DCs, slots, AC, and Lawful Good save package; all ten level boosts go here |
Revelations
| Oracle level | Revelation | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Animal Companion - Wolf | Immediate tank/trip body; strongest early safety gain |
| 3 | Nature's Whispers | CHA modifier replaces DEX modifier to AC |
| 5 | Misfortune | Immediate-action reroll control; save it for decisive rolls |
| 7 | War Sight | Multiple initiative rolls; offsets dumped DEX |
| 11 | Weapon Mastery - Fauchard | Weapon Focus and Improved Critical immediately; Greater Weapon Focus at Oracle 12 |
| 13 | Fortune | Emergency reroll support |
| 15 | Friend to the Animals | CHA-based save bonus for animal companions |
| 19 | Battlefield Clarity | Immediate-action retry against disabling effects |
| 20 | Battle Final Revelation | Pounce plus critical bonuses; automatic capstone |
Do not take Oracle level 7 before Mythic 1 if you want War Sight on schedule. Second Mystery broadens the revelation list; it does not grant extra revelation picks. Current unmodded behavior grants both mysteries' final revelations, but verify this in your build test.
2. Level-up plan: character levels 1-20
Campaign phase: Oracle-Angel. The arcane and crit engines do not exist yet, so play for initiative, spell tempo, and wolf-assisted positioning.
| CLv | Class | BAB | Books | Selection / checkpoint |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Oracle 1 | +0 | O 1 | Improved Initiative; Nature; wolf; Powerless Prophecy + Plagued |
| 2 | Oracle 2 | +1 | O 2 | Mystery spell progression |
| 3 | Oracle 3 | +2 | O 3 | Bolster Spell (provisional M2 package); Nature's Whispers |
| 4 | Oracle 4 | +3 | O 4 | +1 CHA |
| 5 | Oracle 5 | +3 | O 5 | Exotic Weapon Proficiency - Fauchard; Misfortune |
| 6 | Oracle 6 | +4 | O 6 | Finish Gray Garrison / obtain Mythic 1 before the next Oracle level |
| 7 | Oracle 7 | +5 | O 7 | Outflank; War Sight |
| 8 | Oracle 8 | +6 | O 8 | +1 CHA; Weapon Mastery later grants Improved Critical retroactively |
| 9 | Oracle 9 | +6 | O 9 | Power Attack |
| 10 | Oracle 10 | +7 | O 10 | Keep divine buffs current |
| 11 | Oracle 11 | +8 | O 11 | Wings; Weapon Mastery - Fauchard |
| 12 | Oracle 12 | +9 | O 12 | +1 CHA; Weapon Mastery adds Greater Weapon Focus |
| 13 | Oracle 13 | +9 | O 13 | Spell Focus - Conjuration; Fortune |
| 14 | Oracle 14 | +10 | O 14 | Bestow Grace of the Champion comes online around this band |
| 15 | Oracle 15 | +11 | O 15 | Spell Specialization; Friend to the Animals |
| 16 | Oracle 16 | +12 | O 16 | +1 CHA |
| 17 | Oracle 17 | +12 | O 17 | Persistent Spell |
| 18 | Oracle 18 | +13 | O 18 | Level-9 divine spell access |
| 19 | Oracle 19 | +14 | O 19 | Heighten Spell; Battlefield Clarity |
| 20 | Oracle 20 | +15 | O 20 | +1 CHA; Battle Final Revelation - Pounce; current game also grants the Nature capstone |
| Oracle 20 timing Take Oracle 20 immediately. Older community reports have occasionally alleged that prestige advancement can misbehave after a spontaneous base class reaches 20, but that is not solid enough to delay Pounce by ten character levels. On the copied save used for the Legend transition, simply confirm that Mystic Theurge 1 moves the Oracle book from CL 20 to CL 21. |
|---|
At character level 20, BAB 15 gives three BAB attacks, or four with Haste, and Pounce is already online. Before Legend you are still primarily an Angel caster who can charge into melee; the Sorcerer defenses and Spell Critical engine arrive later.
3. Level-up plan: character levels 21-40
Fixed order. Build the arcane book through Dragon Disciple and Mystic Theurge, then take Eldritch Knight straight to Spell Critical. Conjuration is the priority because its best controls ignore spell resistance; Spell Specialization may be reassigned at later spellcasting levels, so move it to whichever qualifying Conjuration spell currently benefits most.
| CLv | Class | BAB | Books | Selection / checkpoint |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 21 | Sorcerer 1 | +15 | O 20 / S 1 | Selective Spell; Draconic Gold; learn Shield + Grease |
| 22 | Sorcerer 2 | +16 | O 20 / S 2 | Second Sorcerer level supplies the BAB point required for final BAB 31 |
| 23 | Dragon Disciple 1 | +16 | O 20 / S 2 | Martial Weapon Proficiency; no arcane advance at DD1; natural armor |
| 24 | Dragon Disciple 2 | +17 | O 20 / S 3 | +1 CHA; DD bonus feat: Cleave; +2 STR |
| 25 | Dragon Disciple 3 | +18 | O 20 / S 4 | Cleaving Finish; arcane advance |
| 26 | Dragon Disciple 4 | +19 | O 20 / S 5 | +2 STR; DD block totals +4 STR, +3 BAB, +3 casting |
| 27 | Mystic Theurge 1 | +19 | O 21 / S 6 | Great Cleave; both books advance; arcane level-3 spells now qualify for EK |
| 28 | Mystic Theurge 2 | +20 | O 22 / S 7 | +1 CHA |
| 29 | Mystic Theurge 3 | +20 | O 23 / S 8 | Improved Cleaving Finish |
| 30 | Mystic Theurge 4 | +21 | O 24 / S 9 | Both books secured before Eldritch Knight |
| 31 | Eldritch Knight 1 | +22 | O 24 / S 9 | Lunge; EK bonus: Dazzling Display; EK1 does not advance casting |
| 32 | Eldritch Knight 2 | +23 | O 24 / S 10 | +1 CHA; arcane level-5 spells |
| 33 | Eldritch Knight 3 | +24 | O 24 / S 11 | Quicken Spell |
| 34 | Eldritch Knight 4 | +25 | O 24 / S 12 | Arcane level-6 spells |
| 35 | Eldritch Knight 5 | +26 | O 24 / S 13 | Critical Focus; EK bonus: Shatter Defenses |
| 36 | Eldritch Knight 6 | +27 | O 24 / S 14 | +1 CHA; arcane level-7 spells |
| 37 | Eldritch Knight 7 | +28 | O 24 / S 15 | Dreadful Carnage |
| 38 | Eldritch Knight 8 | +29 | O 24 / S 16 | Arcane level-8 spells: Seamantle + Mind Blank |
| 39 | Eldritch Knight 9 | +30 | O 24 / S 17 | Greater Spell Focus - Conjuration; EK bonus: Weapon Specialization - Fauchard |
| 40 | Eldritch Knight 10 | +31 | O 24 / S 18 | +1 CHA; arcane level-9 spell; Spell Critical |
4. Mythic path, retained picks, and skills
Mythic ranks are story-gated. Banking one or two character levels does not create extra Angel progression.
| Rank | Pick | After Legend |
|---|---|---|
| M1 | First Ascension: Close to Heavens; Second Mystery - Battle | Retained; Battle revelations and capstone are the foundation |
| M2 | Extra Mythic Ability -> Favorite Metamagic (provisional: Bolster) | Retained; Last Stand is the maximum-safety alternative |
| M3 | Angel; merge into Oracle; Abundant Casting | Generic ability is lost on Legend; learned merged spells are the important residue |
| M4 | Extra Mythic Ability -> Improved Abundant Casting | Lost |
| M5 | Greater Abundant Casting | Lost |
| M6 | Improved Critical (Mythic) - Fauchard | Lost; do not include its multiplier in final Legend math |
| M7 | Abundant / Enduring utility of choice | Lost; do not build the final rotation around it |
| M8 | Choose Legend | Angel active path features go; M1/M2 selections remain in standard current behavior |
| Do not delay ordinary levels for Angel Merged caster level is driven by the divine spellbook plus mythic rank, while mythic ranks come from story milestones. Banking character levels does not manufacture Angel ranks. At the M8 Legend decision, this Oracle cannot rely on reaching merged CL 28 and learning level-10 Angel spells first. |
|---|
M2 remains the one genuine build decision. Favorite Bolster is the provisional offensive choice: on a one-die-per-CL spell, CL 24 produces +48 damage per target rather than the +80 of the abandoned CL 40 caster - a real 32-point trade-off. Favorite Extend is mostly convenience because Extend rods can be used before combat and swapped out. Favorite Selective is the control alternative, strongest if friendly-fire geometry dominates. Last Stand remains the objectively safest Last Azlanti selection. If choosing Extend or Selective, take that ordinary metamagic feat at level 3 and move Bolster to level 21.
Skill allocation
A Legend reaches character level 40, so the maximum rank in any one skill is 40. INT 7 becomes 11 through Legend before most post-20 levels. The increase should be retroactive, so enough ranks for Persuasion, Perception and some other skill to be maxed out. Prioritize
| Priority | Target | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Persuasion | Max whenever possible. |
| 2 | Knowledge (Arcana) | Reach 5 ranks before Dragon Disciple 1 at character level 23. |
| 3 | Lore (Religion) | Reach 3 ranks before Mystic Theurge 1 at character level 27. |
| 4 | Perception | Class skill of Mystic Theurge. Spend the remainder here. It still governs traps, hidden loot, ambushes, and secret checks. |
5. Oracle and retained Angel spellbook
The divine book wins difficult encounters. Arcane casting exists chiefly to supply personal defenses and no-SR control.
| Spell level | Priority spells | Use |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Divine Favor; Bless; Shield of Faith; Remove Fear | Early accuracy, defense, and fear insurance |
| 2 | Lesser Restoration; Resist Energy; Barkskin | Condition repair and long-duration defenses |
| 3 | Prayer; Resist Energy, Communal; Delay Poison, Communal; Archon's Aura | Party swing buffs and hazard immunity |
| 4 | Divine Power; Crusader's Edge; Death Ward; Freedom of Movement | Core melee package; FoM also solves many control effects |
| 5 | Righteous Might; True Seeing; Spell Resistance | Size, DR, vision, and encounter-specific defense |
| 6 | Eaglesoul; Heal; Greater Dispel Magic; True Seeing, Communal | Major STR/holy buff, recovery, and dispelling |
| 7 | Bestow Grace of the Champion; Greater Restoration; Resurrection | CHA-to-saves for LG self plus major condition/death recovery |
| 8 | Frightful Aspect; Holy Aura / Shield of Law | Default melee form: size, reach, fear aura, and natural armor. It does not combine with Fiery Body. |
| 9 | Mass Heal; Winds of Vengeance | Wave recovery and apex defensive buffs |
Spontaneous known-spell pressure is real. Mystery and Angel spells are added automatically; avoid spending manual known slots on exact duplicates unless the interface requires it.
Angel spells to secure before Legend
| Spell | Why it survives the build concept |
|---|---|
| Bolt of Justice | Single-target delete button; use Spell Specialization on it when it is both selectable and currently the best CL target |
| Storm of Justice | Large-area wave clearer; no spell-resistance check for its damage in the current implementation |
| Aegis of the Faithful | Compressed defensive buff package |
| Fortress of the Faithful | Party-scale defensive package |
| Ward Against Weakness, Communal | Broad status protection |
| Sun Marked | Powerful on-hit rider for the pounce routine |
| Level-10 spell warning Final Oracle CL is 24, not 28. Do not sell this chassis to yourself as an Army of Heaven build. Angel -> Legend commonly retains merged spells already learned, but the exact retained list and post-Legend slots remain version-sensitive. Record the spellbook on a copied save immediately before and after choosing Legend. |
|---|
6. Sorcerer spellbook at effective level 18
Both books use CHA. The arcane book fixes the Oracle's personal-defense gap and supplies controls that do not care about spell resistance.
| Spell level | Default locks | Alternatives / note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shield; Grease; True Strike | Expeditious Retreat; Magic Missile. Shield is non-negotiable. |
| 2 | Mirror Image; Sense Vitals; Glitterdust | Blur. Mirror Image is your cheapest personal anti-hit layer. |
| 3 | Haste; Displacement; Heroism | Stinking Cloud if your party is poison-proof. |
| 4 | Greater Invisibility; Dimension Door; Greater False Life | Personal protection, positioning, and a temporary-HP buffer. |
| 5 | Echolocation; Hungry Pit; Geniekind | Icy Prison is stronger only when SR and saves are manageable. |
| 6 | Chains of Light; Acid Fog; Sirocco | First two avoid SR; Sirocco is Selective multi-round control but checks SR. |
| 7 | Legendary Proportions; Waves of Exhaustion | Dragonkind II is the transformation alternative; weapon use may make it unattractive. |
| 8 | Seamantle; Mind Blank | Frightful Aspect belongs in the Oracle level-8 book, so do not duplicate it here; it stacks with these defenses. |
| 9 | Tsunami | Better than Clashing Rocks because it doesn’t require ranged touch attack. Doesn’t require SR check vs. Persistent Selective Sirocco. Fiery Body can be acquired via the Red Salamander ring. |
No-SR control shortlist
1. Grease and Glitterdust: early control with no SR; Heighten/Persistent keeps them relevant when saves permit.
2. Hungry Pit: repeated area denial; Selective does not solve every terrain/forced-movement issue, so place it carefully.
3. Chains of Light: Reflex-based single-target lockdown with no SR.
4. Acid Fog: no SR, no save for much of its control value, and excellent wave shaping. [requires testing]
5. Tsunami: level-9 finisher that bypass SR.
7. Pounce and Spell Critical engine
The build is fearsome because it compresses a full attack and a spell into one round - when geometry and confirmation cooperate.
| Step | Action | Failure point |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Prebuff Haste, personal defenses, size/reach, accuracy, and Sun Marked | Dispel, surprise, or short-duration buff timing |
| 2 | Charge a legal target; Battle capstone converts it into a pounce full attack | No straight path, difficult terrain, body blocking, minimum-distance issue |
| 3 | Make seven BAB attacks; Haste adds an eighth | Unfair AC, concealment, mirror images, attack penalties |
| 4 | Confirm at least one critical | Threat is not a crit; confirmation can still miss |
| 5 | Spell Critical primes the next spell within two rounds as a swift action | Only one swift action per round; spell still consumes a slot |
| 6 | Cast Storm / Chains / Clashing Rocks or a Heightened control as appropriate | Spell Critical behavior with divine or full-round metamagic spells is patch-sensitive |
Threat-range math
| Weapon | Current threat range | One attack | At least one threat in 8 attacks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fauchard (selected) | 15-20 | 30% | 1 - 0.70^8 = 94.2% |
| Scimitar / falchion rival | 15-20 | 30% | 1 - 0.70^8 = 94.2% |
| Grave Singer greataxe | 17-20 | 20% | 1 - 0.80^8 = 83.2% |
These are raw threat probabilities, not confirmed-critical probabilities. The table proves that fauchard cannot be selected on critical range alone: scimitars and falchions reach the same 15-20 without an exotic feat, while current Improved Critical leaves Grave Singer at 17-20.
Weapon verdict - Fauchard. The exotic feat purchases reach throughout the campaign and a coherent named progression: Finnean / the Act 2 shock fauchard, Mighty Blow of Good in Act 3, Bearer of Sorrow as an optional Act 4 burst weapon, and Rushlight from Final Veil as the endgame gish weapon. Rushlight is +5 radiant and nullifying; a successful charge grants spell resistance equal to 11 + character level, which is SR 51 at Legend 40.
Bearer of Sorrow is not the reason for the feat. Vicious inflicts 1d6 damage on the wielder for every successful hit; eight hits plus the fifth-hit bonus attack average 31.5 self-damage. Use it only when buffered and when its extra attacks justify that erosion. Mighty Blow of Good is the safe default until Rushlight.
The strongest no-tax rival is the good Dawnflower's Kiss: a 15-20 scimitar with holy damage and a one-round extra-attack proc on a confirmed crit. It arrives in Act 5, lacks reach, and the extra-attack proc is unreliable and often effectively nonfunctional in vanilla turn-based mode. Touch of Mercy is a useful bleeding-target execute rather than a general engine; Interceptor is an AoO rapier and does not exploit this STR two-handed chassis. Neither overturns the fauchard decision for this particular pounce/Spell Critical build.
Action-economy rules
1. Spontaneous metamagic normally turns a standard-action spell into a full-round cast; Favorite Bolster removes the slot surcharge, not automatically the casting-time issue. It is also materially weaker at Oracle CL 24 than at CL 40: on a one-die-per-CL spell, +48 per target instead of +80, a 32-point concession from abandoning the pure caster.
2. Quicken rods bypass that problem for planned rounds; equip a few before combat.
3. Test whether Spell Critical accepts Oracle/Angel and full-round metamagic spells on the latest patch.
4. Keep one unmodified high-impact fallback spell ready.
8. Defense, equipment, and battlefield use
| Layer | Source | Stacking / use |
|---|---|---|
| Ability to AC | Nature's Whispers; Wings | CHA replaces DEX. Final naked AC is 22, or 25 against melee with Wings, before bracers and spells. |
| Armor bonus | Bracers of Armor +8/+10 or a named bracer | Does not stack with Mage Armor; choose the stronger armor bonus/item effect. |
| Shield bonus | Shield | +4 personal shield bonus; one of the Sorcerer book's core reasons to exist. |
| Images / miss chance | Mirror Image; Displacement; Greater Invisibility | Layer these because Unfair attack bonuses eventually outgrow ordinary AC. |
| High-tier personal | Frightful Aspect; Seamantle; Mind Blank; Echolocation | Use these together. Fiery Body replaces the size form when critical/status immunity matters more than reach and STR. |
| Saves | Bestow Grace of the Champion | Lawful Good self uses sky-high CHA; avoid duplicate CHA-to-save stacking assumptions. |
| Emergency | M2 retained choice | Last Stand is maximum safety; the provisional Favorite Bolster line instead relies on prevention, Fiery Body, Heal/Mass Heal, and positioning. |
| Status package | Freedom of Movement; Death Ward; Aegis/Fortress | Prevent action denial - the real Last Azlanti killer. |
Equipment priorities
1. Weapon: Fauchard line - Finnean / shock fauchard -> Mighty Blow of Good -> Bearer of Sorrow only when its self-damage is acceptable -> Rushlight endgame.
2. Bracers: highest armor bonus or best named offensive effect in your DLC/version.
3. Head/Belt/Cloak: [to be completed]
4. Rings/amulet: [to be completed]
5. Rods: Quicken first for decisive in-combat action economy; Extend for prebuffing and then swapping out; Greater Bolster for high-level damage casts when Favorite Metamagic is not carrying that role.
Wolf and party expectations
1. Give the wolf Outflank early. It is a superb trip/body-blocker through level 20, then stops scaling.
2. Endgame wolf is utility/off-tank, not the sole Unfair tank; withdraw it from bosses when needed.
3. Mercenary (for endgame experience without starting over) candidates: Kinetic Sharpshooter [to be completed].

Kingmaker : Modded Builds Help with Magus progression?
Truth be told, I tried many of my fantasies (most died since I understand nothing of how this game works and I'm playing in last azlanti mode) but, after reading all the classes I can say for certain that my favourite ones might be either the Summoner (added by Call of the Wild) and the Magus (all the versatility is really cool).
To the point then: I'm going to try and see how long I can get With a Magus and then try a Master Summoner. But something bugs me, how do I start my stats? I mean, if I start with 16 int I get all spells; that's a no brainer. But Magus, eventually, gets medium and then heavy armour.
On paper I love the progression of my guy getting the hang of armour and being able to cast spells on it. But I really don't know what to prioritise. Or of I should prioritise at all.
I know elf is a very good choice but the coolest fantasy (imho) is a human.
So I figured I could go:
14 STR [+2 human] - 16 str
16 dex
12 con
16 int
10 wis
7 cha
I don't know if it makes sense or I should take another route. Could anyone help me?

Kingmaker : Modded Builds Dawnflower Anchorite Witch Build
Hi, so I'm playing kingmaker with call of the wild and favored class mods, and I wanted to try give this a shot but since I'm not the best at building at I want some input.
Basically it would be CC/Debuff with enchantment and evocation spells with some healing spells on the side, also serving as the party face.
(I know a sorcerer would be better for CC but i just really liked the dawnflower anchorite class)
I picked the Ley Line Guardian/Hex Chaneller archetype and went with Half-Elf with the Agility patron (mostly for hate since I'm only getting to witch level 10)
Stats: 7/16/12/18/10/15
For feats I mostly went with:
1- Spell Focus: Enchantment
3- Greater Spell Focus Enchantment
5- Metamagic: Persistant Spell
7- Spell Focus: Evocation
9- Spell Penetration
11- Metamagic: Heighten Spell
13- Greater Spell Penetration
15- Metamagic Selective Spell
17- Greater Spell Focus Evocation
19- Split Hex or Perfect Spell
Hexes - Evil Eye, Misfortune and Cackle
So I'm looking for suggestions and also wondering if there's anything i should change, I don't really know if all the spell focus and spell penetration are really important.

Righteous : Story Was there a moment in the story where Arueshalae did something significant enough to earn redemption? Could you give me a spoiler, please? Spoiler
I can accept evil characters like Regill—whose wickedness makes sense given the logic of the brutal world of Golarion—but what I can't stand is the flimsy excuse of bureaucracy that devils hide behind, as well as the irritating existence of the Abyss. I need to know: does Arueshalae ever perform an impressive feat of self-sacrifice or overcome a challenge to protect others in a way that earns her redemption? So far, all I’ve seen is her crying about her own nature and her fear of getting close to mortals; frankly, considering she devours mortal souls, that constant weeping just makes me loathe her even more. Is there a moment where she actually takes action to earn that redemption, or not?

Righteous : Fluff Niche/small headcanon I thought about. Spoiler
When I transmogged the Blood Red Cleaver to look like the Numerian Greatsword through the prestigipainter, I thought in my head that the effects of the B.R.C kind of fits more with the Numerian Greatsword.
For the main reason, the Vicious effect from B.R.C is 2d6 magic damage against your foes, while 1d6 damage against you. This feels somewhat fitting for the Numerian Greatsword because it makes me think that this bad boy is overloaded with so much energy for a technologically advanced greatsword, that you and your opponent are basically being shocked by interacting with something equivalent to a electric wire.
I don't know why I thought of something a bit insignificant as this, probably because I feel like the Numerian Greatsword was done dirty by not having anything really unique and it's abilities that you activate it with are so lackluster and easily replaced by other gear or spells, so I thought why not slap the greatsword's appearance on to another greatsword with better effects.
Also, the B.R.C is an "Oversized" weapon, basically giving you another damage dice to you. So it goes from 2d6 damage to 3d6 damage and it can even stack with enlarging effects, so you can get 4d6 damage.
In essence, you can imagine your Numerian Greatsword being a weapon so overloaded with energy that it hurts you and your foe, while also being a freakishly big glowing green greatsword compared to even other greatswords.
That is so freaking cool!
I wonder if there's other gear that might fit better appearance-wise with another piece of gear...

Righteous : Game Trickster persuasion 3 not working at the start of battle
Hi everyone,
I picked the persuasion 3 on my trickster playthrough, and I noticed that it doesn't proc at the start of battle.
The persuasion 1 work as intended, and honestly I never really looked if persuasion 2 worked.
So I know that foes can succeed their will save, but when they failed it just the first level.
If I do the demoralize action my foes do suicide themselves a lot so I don't think my roll are bad.
Any thoughts?

Righteous : Game Babarian's rage and Vicious weapons
I'd need someone else to try to confirm it (to make sure it isn't an isolated bug), but it seems that barbarian's rage makes you immune to the Vicious property's backlash. After some more tests, here is the breakdown:
Do you take Vicious backlash?
- Out of rage: Yes.
- Barbarian in rage or companion of a skald under Inspire Rage: No.
- Skald under Inspire Rage and Bloodrager in Bloodrage: Yes.
I haven't seen any mention of this, so I thought I'd share it.
Pic: Trever respec'ed as a barbarian, using Midnight Flail and Painful Remorse during rage.

Kingmaker : Game Pathfinder Kingmaker | session 15: Welcome to Viemonde
I finally have Bag of Tricks so I can fix the spelling mistake I made earlier on the kingdom name. I get my ass kicked during this recording batch in the lead up to Troll Trouble
