Miscellaneous Driving in Peoria
Is it a law or something here that if you encounter me on the road and are in front of me you have to drive like a coward, and if you are behind me you have to drive like a psychopath?
Is it me? I guess I am the common factor here.

It's amazing how many people have to drive faster than you until they are in front of you.
There's also a ton of drivers who simply can't operate their cruise control.

There are a ton of drivers who go slower than the speed limit until they're being passed by someone doing the speed limit and accelerate to match.

All you need is a brake, a steering wheel , an accelerator, and patience. It’s not that big of a deal

Do the speed limit, follow with a safe distance, don't lane switch unsafely and selfishly. You don't deserve to drive if you can't do these simple things.

Absolutely noooooone of this compares at all to the multitudes of you mindless zombies driving while on your cellphones. I challenge anyone while driving a typical commute to arrive at your destination finding zero women with their head down rotting out their skull while behind the wheel.

So, lol. I think pointing out specifically women was a choice, but I think women are more obvious about phone usage. They will have it at the top of the steering wheel and furiously type then drop it in their lap. Men just keep it under the windows sight line in one hand and misspell everything

Yes it was absolutely a choice. Choosing to point out a group of people who are the majority of violators in a crime that kills innocent people as well as injures and disrupts is definitely a justifiable action. Women vastly outnumber men in general phone usage and this sadly translates onto the roadway.

Actually........it doesn't translate at all. Look it up, please.
FARS: "For nearly every year from 1975 to 2024, the number of male crash deaths was more than twice the number of female crash deaths. From 1975 to 2024, male crash deaths declined by about 13% and female crash deaths decreased by about 9%"
Dispathi Law Group on distracted driving: "According to the Insurance Information Institute, distracted driving accounts for 3.6% of all fatal crashes. Whether texting, talking on the phone, or engaging in other distractions, both men and women contribute to distracted driving accidents. However, data suggests that men are more likely to engage in other risky behaviors in addition to distracted driving, which may increase their overall crash risk."

What you’re not counting in as far as the data is much more than distracted driving, risky behavior and/or any other category is the fact that men operate the overwhelming vast majority of motor vehicles on the roadways worldwide. By far. Farm tractors, semi trucks, road going construction vehicles, heavy load pullers, delivery vehicles, medical transportation, first responders, commercial vehicles, tow trucks, impound vehicles, maritime transport…I could go on and on till my fingers go numb, all operated 90%+ by men. When you adjust for all of this you’ll actually find men navigate much better, safer and more efficiently than women as men are the 90+ percentile in experience when it comes to roadway traffic and civic duties in general.

Make that make sense please. Personal attacks are the choice of someone who has nothing left to stand on but yet still make everything seem okay. Don’t cry it’s just a debate

I thought it was only me and I was in some weird social experiment. Every day I come to Peoria for work, no one knows how to just do the speed limit. And when you inevitably get up on their butt cause they're doing 5-10 under, they slow down even more.

This just sounds like you hate having someone riding your ass but also love to ride on people's ass.

Oh, no. I definitely don’t speed. I tend to get stuck behind people who themselves are stuck behind someone else. I feel like I should just change my commute schedule to be crazy early and late.

Pro Tip: Just speed. Traffic is much easier to manage when its all behind you.

100% subscribe to this theory. Especially if there's a cop car in front! We can do with a few less drivers on the road.
