Investing What's the biggest financial scam that Indians still consider a good investment?

Not talking about illegal scams.

I'm talking about things that are widely accepted as "smart investments" but often turn out to be terrible financially.

What's your pick?

Budgeting Husband likes to hoard money instead of enjoying life!

Husband and I both earn well but he is a penny pincher, his in-hand is around 3L while mine is 1.5L. Few things I understand - not buying a house another 5-7 years, a car for utility and now show. The one thing I could after numerous conversations get him to agree on is to move to a society with amenities, not immediately but when we plan for kids.

But the main category he penny pinches is on trips, either not taking any or only going on budget ones. Btw when we do go, I pay for myself, he has to pay his half. So no gold digger talks please lol.

His family is like this too, but even more extreme. From groceries to trips to even the wedding events. I get that this is where he also gets his thought process from.
But it is so discouraging, we plan to have kids in 3 years, long trips on hold for maybe 4 years after that, am I wrong to expect he agrees to spend on trips now. Btw moral of the story, if you are in AM process, the salary and networth does not guarantee a certain kind of lifestyle.

Also if this keeps happening, should I just take trips with my friends and family, I know it will not be as much fun without my husband but I can’t keep putting these off.

Budgeting Salary Day and I’m Already Anxious About Money

I’m 29, based in Delhi, and earn ₹1.23 lakh in hand each month. It’s salary day today, and at 11 PM, I have ₹25,000 left in my bank account.
I’ve set aside ₹60,000 for SIPs, paid my rent and maid, cleared my electricity and water bills, prepaid my fuel credit card for this month’s diesel expenses, and even bought my whey protein.
I’m left with just ₹25,000 to get through the rest of the month.
I’m getting genuinely jittery just thinking about it. And the worst part? I don’t even know why I’m investing so aggressively in the first place.
I feel completely lost when it comes to my finances.

Housing My home loan interest rate was hiked from 9.25% to 11% with zero notice, and now the tenure numbers don't even match what the bank confirmed in writing. Need advice.

(This post was written with help from Claude, an AI, to organize my thoughts clearly. All the details and the experience are mine.)

Hi everyone, hoping someone here has dealt with something similar or can tell me if this is normal or if I'm being taken for a ride.

I took a home loan of 20 lakhs back in Dec 2020 from GIC Housing Finance Ltd (GICHFL). It was fixed at 9.25% for the first 61 months, after which it becomes floating, linked to their Base Lending Rate. Original tenure was 240 months, EMI was around 18,318.

In October 2025, I asked them to increase my EMI, and they wrote back confirming a new EMI of 20,150 with a remaining tenure of 151 months, effective November 2025. I have this in writing.

Fast forward to August 2026, and I randomly notice my ROI has jumped to 11%. No SMS, no email, no call, nothing. When I asked them about it, they said the rate changed because my 61 month fixed period ended in January 2026, and it's now aligned to their current base lending rate. Fair enough in theory, but then I noticed something else. They are now saying my remaining tenure is 172 months, not the 151 months they confirmed in writing just a few months earlier.

I sent them a formal email on 13th August asking for the exact date the rate changed, the base lending rate and the formula used to calculate 11%, a copy of the rate revision notice, an explanation for the tenure jump, and full details of a paid scheme they mentioned to lower the rate. Two weeks went by with no response at all.

Then out of nowhere, they emailed me offering to convert my rate to 10.10% floating, but only if I sign a supplementary agreement, get it notarized on stamp paper, submit a hard copy to their branch, and pay a conversion fee of 2360 rupees. I looked at the agreement they sent and it has blank spaces for my EMI, tenure, and interest rate, meant to be filled in later by them. It also has a clause where I agree in advance to be bound by future rate resets and any resulting increase in EMI or tenure.

I'm not against paying a fair rate. What's bothering me is signing a form with blank numbers and no explanation for the tenure jump, and being asked to pay before anything is clarified.

Has anyone dealt with GICHFL or a similar housing finance company doing this? Is this normal industry practice or a shady move? What would you do in my position? Any advice on escalation, RBI ombudsman, or anything else I should know, would really help.

Thanks for reading this far.

Housing Will I be ever to purchase home in India ?

Post tax income : 2.4L/mo in Gurgaon
Wife : 40K/mo but don’t have long term plans(will quit after baby)
Dad : 50K/mo pension

Savings : Dad (nil as cleared homeloan in town with retirement corpus)

No kids yet.

Expense :
Rent + maintenance = 35000
Maid = 6000 (3K hometown, 2K gurugram, 1K car and bike cleaning)
Grocery = 15000
Electricity = 3000 (yearly avg)
Medicine and hospital = 10000 (unfortunately, we are insured but adhoc medicines )
Eating out = 10000
Clothing = 10000 (both of us have office so have to be presentable)
EMI = 12000 (flat in different corywhich we don’t live, society is ready need to invest 2 lakh more so it becomes rentable with rent ~ EMI)
Insurance = 5K

Savings = 50 Lakh
22 lakh US mutual
28 lakh India (stock + etf + reit + MF)

Personal emergency fund = 5 lakh

Adhoc - 20K (unseen family chores related expenses)
Which brings total expense to 1.1 lakh

My yearly savings becomes close to 16-18 lakhs. Morever there is RSU grant which is 8 lakh post tax so average yearly savings in 25 lakh. Not counting on wife income as it may stop soon and her savings are her emergency fund (~4 lakhs)

With kids I will be needing 3 bhk, which costs are 2.5- 3cr. I prefer staying within 10KM from office as our cities are not commutable.

Risk : AI based job role reduction and might have pay-cut

Housing Is there new obsession for Gated societies or luxury apartments ?

It seems everyone these days wants to live in gated societies or luxury apartments with all the so called amenities like Gym and pool and misc. obviously there isn’t a problem in this.

One problem I see is first how are people affording the houses, I assume a flat would be 50% more expensive and also you have to deal with huge maintenance bill every month. Another thing is Builders prioritising these luxury apartments more because the margins are much better, this in turn increases the cost of real estate even more.

Also one potential problem I see is what would be the maintenance issues in let’s say a 30 year old building? In 30 years you’ll be looking at very maintenance bill with all the repairs and everything. Let’s be honest it’s not like builders are using high end materials for luxury apartments, same raw materials being used but making it seem more flashy.

What you guys think ?

Investing Feeling Insecure and FOMO | 23M Software Engineer @ Top/Teir Trading Firm

Hey Everyone,

Have been following the content of this sub for quite some time at this point, and I decided that it was finally the time for me to open up and talk about a few things that have been bugging me and wanted the wisdom of the crowds.

Some context first: I graduated from a Tier-2 College and out of sheer determination, made it into my current organization. I won't rant much about work cause honestly, I really love everything that I do and I enjoy everyday. The saying is infact true that if you love what you do, then you won't be working a single day in your life.

As many might have extrapolated already, I earn pretty good. I invest equally well and I try to live frugally. Here are the approximate numbers:

Take Home: 2.3L
Investments (SIP): 1.7L
Needs: 45k
Rest is savings.

Portfolio: 55.9L (All Mine)
Debt: 0
Responsibilities: 0

Now here is the question: I have been feeling empty and devoid of any emotion when it comes to making more money. Don't get me wrong, I have aspirations and dreams to achieve great things and would love to own cool things, but that thought is not a priority tbh.

I want the wisdom from people that is it ok to feel like this? I see my coworkers "enjoy" life. They buy expensive things whilst incurring debt. Lifestyle inflation. Next question is: Where do I call it quits? I understand FIRE and withdrawal rates but I don't understand what and when to prioritize this?

I want to get myself a good wrist watch as a way to commemorate getting promoted at work this year (if it happens šŸ¤žšŸ¼).

P.S. I am like this due to family background. Dad's into real estate and I have seen what is good way and bad way to park capital. And due to this background I have no responsibility towards my family, financially speaking of course.

P.P.S. The watch in question is a Rolex Submariner No Date.

Employment 31F. Need advice on whether I can leave my job

I am 31F living in Bangalore with my husband, a 6 months old baby girl and parents in law. Both of us work at an IT company. I earn ~2.5L per month and my husband earns ~3.6L per month excluding yearly bonuses and stocks. (Husband has a huge chunk of salary in stocks too). I am quite into savings as well and have managed to have a portfolio of ~2-2.25cr (including unrealised P&L). We don't splurge a lot except on food & groceries. Monthly rent (of 40k) and maid, cook and potential upcoming nanny expenses this monthly fixed expenses may be ~1L and rest majorly baby and groceries expenses (Maximum of another 1L). Rest all goes in savings. I save ~1.8L per month and husband might be the same or more. We have no debt. Have parental own 1bhk house in mumbai and living in Bangalore on rent for opportunity cost and convenient change of location till settled. Planning to buy a house in future in blr/hyd/pune.

Now the real question. I am scheduled to go back to work after maternity leave and lately facing a lot of mental health issues like anxiety, depression and extreme thoughts due to a lot of personal reasons. I have lost a lot of mental bandwidth to process things, take decisions, multitask etc. I am contemplating going back to work but also not sure if I will be able to manage it. I have lots of help and support though but due to my condition I am struggling with even the basics of tasks. Also thinking about having an identity crisis if I leave the job and uncertainty of whether I will be able to ever join back years later even. But nonetheless even after a lot of convincing from husband, I am not able to get convinced that we will be financially well equipped with the same lifestyle if I leave my job. I wanted perspective from this sub if I should leave the job for my mental peace and not worry about finances?

P.S. I didn't and in no way wanted to boast about income and wealth. But as I understand those details are necessary for anyone to evaluate and suggest, hence the need to post.

Auto/Car Can I afford a Toyota Hilux

32 M, single, to be married soon. Inhand 3.6Lakhs per month (excluding stocks and bonus); partner to quit job (initial few months as I will be the sole earner), can expect her to make 50-60k per month after that. In tech, layoff fear is real.

Current EMIs: ~40k. Month expense ~80k (single).

Equity: ~1.5cr. FD/PPF: ~25-30 lakhs.

Hilux is more of a passion choice than a family car. But costs almost 50lakhs onroad. But this will be my primary car as I do not have another one.

Debt 28M earning ₹1.5L/month, family wants me to take a ₹20L loan for land. I’m confused and mentally exhausted.

I’m 28M and have been working for around 4 years. For the last 2 years, I’ve been working at a very early-stage service-based startup. We’re only 4 people, and my current in-hand salary is around ₹1.5L per month after deductions. Apart from a yearly bonus, there aren’t really any extra benefits.

I’m the eldest son in the family, and my father’s business took a big hit after COVID and still hasn’t fully recovered.

Ever since I started working, I’ve had some responsibility or another. I helped pay off my two elder sisters’ marriage loans, cleared some of my father’s debt, and I currently support my two younger siblings as well. One is in Class 12 and the other is in the final year of her master’s. Last year, I also spent money renovating some parts of our house.

After all this, I finally felt like my liabilities were reducing and maybe I could start focusing more on my own financial future.

But recently, we had a land-related issue. We sold our agricultural land for around ₹22L and bought another piece of land for ₹25L, and I contributed the remaining amount.

The problem is that the agricultural land was originally bought by my grandfather, and he is very emotionally attached to it. That land is now worth around ₹32L, and he wants me to buy back at least ₹20L worth of it.

That would most likely mean taking a loan of around ₹20L.

And this is where I’m getting really stressed.

My father feels that since I earn ₹1.5L in hand, I should be able to manage the EMI comfortably. But I haven’t fully explained to him how unstable my job actually is. We are a tiny startup, and I don’t have the kind of job security where I feel comfortable taking on a huge long-term loan.

If I had a stable job, maybe I would have considered taking the risk. But right now, the thought of carrying another big liability for years genuinely scares me.

At the same time, I feel guilty because I understand my grandfather’s emotional attachment to the land.

My mom and I were also planning to renovate the upper floor of our house gradually, and she is worried about my marriage as well. Personally, I was hoping that after four years of handling family expenses, I could finally save properly and maybe buy a car for myself sometime in the future.

For some personal finance context, I invest around ₹20k per month in mutual funds and another ₹5k towards gold. Since my job is mostly WFH, my own expenses are relatively low, so I do manage to save. But most of my savings over the years have ended up going towards family debts, education, house expenses or some unexpected responsibility.

I don’t have an issue supporting my family. I’ve been doing it willingly.

But I’m starting to feel like every time one liability ends, another one appears, and I never really get the chance to build financial security for myself.

Am I being selfish for not wanting to take a ₹20L loan?

Would you take this risk in my situation just because the land has emotional value for the family, or is it reasonable to finally draw a line and say I can’t take on another major liability?

Investing How do you manage freelance income when your income is uncertain?

I'm 23M and have been freelancing for around 2 years, making ₹3-4 LPA until now. Now I'm making around ₹60k-₹80k every 2 weeks as a contractor for a US company. The person I work with wants to work long-term, but I'm not sure how consistent it will be.

How would you manage this kind of income? How much would you pay yourself, how much would you save/invest, and would you use a fixed amount or percentage?

My expenses are around ₹5k/month, and I was thinking of keeping ₹15k/month for myself for travel, buying things, etc. I currently don't have any savings or emergency fund.

I also have ₹2 lakh of my father's money that he wants me to invest in mutual funds, and I have some experience with MFs.

Some months I might make an extra ₹50k from freelance work. What would you do with that extra money, and where would you invest the money you save?

Basically, how much would you keep as an emergency fund, how much would you invest, and where?

Housing Broker asking for renewal brokerage after agreeing not to charge it

28F, living in Chembur, Mumbai, in a 3BHK with two other flatmates.

I moved in last May. When we signed the rent agreement, we specifically negotiated with the broker that there would be no brokerage for renewal next year, and she agreed.

The agreement expired in May this year, but both we and the broker forgot to renew it. We continued living there and paying rent normally.

Now in September, the broker has remembered and says we have to pay brokerage again (35k) for renewing the agreement.

Is this legal? If we have WhatsApp messages showing that she agreed there would be no renewal brokerage, can we refuse to pay it?
Any advice on how to handle this would be appreciated.

Saving/Banking Anyone having problems with the Union Bank?

Cannot make transactions over a week (also happening to several people I know), also while trying to transfer money through net banking, it shows insufficient balance (same happening while trying to make a transaction by ATM) and the account certainly holds a sufficient amount of money.

Moreover, after approaching their branch, the staff were first denying the accusations and upon showing proof, they quickly changed to their faulty server excuse, btw an old lady who also visited the branch was also currently going through the same problem. What should I do in this situation?

Debt SP Jain MBA: The ₹50L Education Loan Reality, Bank Tie-Up Risks, and the ₹65,000/Month EMI Nightmare

I need urgent advice from the community on how to handle an impending loan default and restructure a massive education loan without dragging my family into financial ruin.

1. The Loan & Financial Situation

  • Principal Borrowed:Ā ~₹45 Lakhs to fund tuition, mandatory housing, and living costs across Dubai/Singapore/London. ( SP Jain School of Global Management MBA)
  • Current Rate of Interest:Ā ~9%
  • Accrued Simple Interest during course:Ā Compounded/capitalized during the ~16-month study and moratorium period, pushing the effective principal to ~₹54L+.
  • Current Mandatory EMI:Ā ~₹65,000 per month
  • Collateral:Ā Unsecured
  • Family Context:Ā My father is the sole earning member with a modest income, and I have zero personal emergency reserves left.

2. The Ground Reality (Why Cash Flow Collapsed)

I took this debt believing the admissions pitch ofĀ SP Jain School of Global Management (Global MBA):Ā "You will easily recover the investment within 1.5–2 years through international placements."

The reality on the ground completely broke down:

  • The "Tri-City" Visa Friction:Ā The 3-to-4-month fast-track stops in Dubai ,Singapore ,London gave us short-term visitor visas . There were zero post-study work rights or legal avenues to transition into local work permits.
  • Placement Collapse:Ā In our cohort (95 students), the institutional placement conversion was barely 4-5 students. Over 90% were left unplaced to apply cold on LinkedIn/Naukri.
  • Income vs. EMI Deficit: Off-campus opportunities in India for this profile are either sparse or hovering around entry-level corporate packages (₹4–5 LPA or lower), where after living expenses, the salary does not even cover the ₹65k monthly EMI. In many cases, applications on LinkedIn/Naukri simply get ghosted.

3. The Roadblock with the Bank

During admissions, bank representatives worked hand-in-hand with college counselors to sell the loan as a "risk-free investment." he was like SP Jain Grads easily grab 20-24 LPA, stupid of us who believed in them.

Now that I have graduated without an institutional placement:

  • I approached the bank requesting an extended moratorium or a tenure extension to lower the monthly outflow.
  • The branch manager flatly denied restructuring, citing rigid policy since the standard moratorium window ended.
  • They are threatening notices that they will ruin our CIBIL scores.

Questions for the Community:

  1. Loan Restructuring:Ā How can I escalate within the lending bank to formally get the loan settled at some figure like 20-25 lakhs ?
  2. General Advice:Ā For anyone who has navigated a massive ₹40L–₹50L debt trap from private business schools with low initial salaries, what is the best roadmap to stay afloat without defaulting?

Any guidance on banking escalation, legal nuances, or practical repayment strategies would mean a lot to my family right now.

Debt I’m 22, ₹2.5L in debt, and trying to fix the mess I got into after my dad’s stroke.

I’m a 22F, currently working as a tech freelancer, and I’m in a situation I honestly never expected to find myself in. I started college in 2022 and was supposed to graduate this year. Everything was going relatively normally until August 2024, when my dad suffered a stroke. I was away at college at the time and had to rush home. Because of everything that was happening with my dad and my family, I ended up missing a significant number of classes and was debarred from the subjects I was taking that semester. I thought I would be able to get back on track once things settled down, but things got much worse. Even after returning to college the following semester, I couldn't bring myself to attend classes properly. I couldn't get out of bed or function normally, and eventually I was debarred from another 6 subjects. By the end of it, I had 13 backlogs.

My college charges ₹8,000 per subject if you're debarred, which meant I suddenly owed the college ₹1,04,000 just in debarment fees. I never told my mom about this because with my dad gone and her not working, I couldn't bring myself to add another huge financial burden on her. I tried to handle it myself. I took out loans to pay the fees, but when I couldn't repay those loans, I took out more loans to pay them back. I kept thinking that once I got back on track with college and started earning, I would be able to clear everything. Instead, the debt kept piling up, and I'm currently around ₹2.5 lakh in debt.

The frustrating part is that I'm not sitting around doing nothing. I genuinely want to work and get myself out of this situation. Because I haven't cleared my backlogs yet, I'm currently unable to get a regular tech job. I still have to re-register for the subjects I was debarred from and attend classes again. Only a limited number of these subjects are offered each semester, so realistically I'll be able to clear everything by next year. This has put me in a weird position where I have the skills to work in tech, but I don't have my degree yet, and most companies aren't willing to hire me for a full-time role without it. So I started freelancing. Initially, I was doing small projects worth around $100 to $200. I was genuinely excited about getting my first few clients because I felt like I was finally doing something that could help me become financially independent. But most of that money went straight into managing household expenses and dealing with the financial situation I was already in, so I haven't really been able to build up any savings or a safety net.

Right now, I'm working on my first genuinely large project. The total project value is ₹2 lakh. I've already received an advance of ₹50,000, and the remaining ₹1.5 lakh will be paid in three installments based on milestone completion. I'm also currently in talks for another project, which could be a good opportunity, but I don't want to count on that money until the project is actually finalized. For the first time in a while, I feel like there might actually be a way out, but I'm also scared because the ₹2 lakh from this project isn't simply money I can put toward my debt. I still have household expenses, existing loan payments, and other financial obligations, and freelancing is unpredictable. One month can be great while the next can be completely dry.

I'm trying to balance finishing college, clearing my backlogs, keeping my freelance clients happy, finding new projects, contributing to household expenses, and somehow getting myself out of ₹2.5 lakh of debt. I know that some of the financial decisions I made along the way weren't smart. Taking one loan to pay another was obviously not sustainable, but at the time I was just trying to keep things from falling apart. I also don't want this post to come across as me looking for sympathy. I'm more interested in hearing from people who have been in a similar situation, especially people who had significant debt in their early 20s, had to delay graduation, or built a career through freelancing without having their degree completed.

What would you do if you were in my position? Would you focus almost entirely on freelancing and try to maximize income until the debt is gone? Would you prioritize clearing college as quickly as possible even if it limits the amount of time I can spend working? And how would you approach paying off ₹2.5 lakh of debt when your income isn't stable yet? I know I'm still young, and ₹2.5 lakh isn't an impossible amount of money to recover from in the long run, but right now it feels enormous. I'm just trying to figure out the smartest way to get myself out of this hole without digging an even deeper one.

Planning What to do now ?

Hi everyone,

I am 32M working for IT. I have been making ~40 LPA for the past 3 years and I have taken a personal loan of 20 L and have been paying 38k as EMI (72months) and I would have paid 24 EMIs so far. Recently my position got impacted and I have 15L as bank balance right now. I also have gold loan of 10L (8% interest). I do not own any assets like home/land. I have RSUs worth 40L and I don’t plan to touch them as of now. With the current 15L balance am confused on what to do. Options I have
1. Buy a land (not sure of the timeline when I will get one deal)
2. Preclose personal loan and get done with it.
3. Close gold loan
4. Continue paying EMIs(hoping that I get a new offer of at least 30 LPA) and invest them in FD/fixed bonds/Stocks/Mutual Funds

What do you suggest ? Given the circumstances ( stock market is down and should eventually pick up )

Your sincere advises are highly appreciated. TIA

Insurance Policybazar has no plan without 'Full refund of premium'?

Hi guys, I was looking for a term insurance on Policybazar. Youtubers say not to get the plan with return of premium. But all plans have a 'Full refund of premium' on the policybazar, and it doesn't even cost too much.

Am I missing something? Or I will get the benifit of premium refund without paying high cost (looks too good to be true).

Debt Credila not permitting me to refinance to a US based lender

• Upvotes

For context, I graduated in May from a university in the US and currently have around ₹50LĀ outstanding in aĀ Credila education loan. I am working in the U.S. now and wanted to refinance the loan into a USD based student loan to access U.S. repayment benefits / employer assistance, reduce interest rate (half it actually) and simplify repayment

MPOWER waitlisted me, but I was able to find a U.S. credit union that is at least open to refinancing the loan, provided Credila gives them a proper payoff statement with:

  • USD equivalent outstanding value
  • exchange rate used
  • good-until date
  • SWIFT / inward remittance details

Getting a U.S.-based bank or credit union willing to refinance should have been the main obstacle. But right now,Ā Credila is the blocker.

Credila is saying they are now a non-banking financial institution and that theyĀ do not accept USDĀ for foreclosure. This is frustrating because my loan was facilitated through the HDFC ecosystem in 2024, and now they are saying they cannot support the type of international refinance documentation that a U.S. lender needs.

When my parents went directly to one of their offices, they were told thatĀ RBI guidelines prevent a non-banking financial company from accepting USDĀ for loan foreclosure. I have not been able to find any publicly available RBI/FEMA rule that clearly says this. It may be true, but Credila has not provided the exact circular, notification, or clause. They also have not clearly confirmed whether this is actually an internal Credila policy instead of an RBI restriction.

So far, I am getting vague answers like ā€œforeclosure will be in Indian Rupeesā€ and ā€œwe cannot accept USD,ā€ but not the documentation needed by the U.S. lender.

My questions: 1. Has anyone gone though this process and seen success 2. Should I escalate this through RBI Ombudsman, or is this just a dead end?

Investing Need advice on investing

I’m 33 years old, salaried, and starting this September I’d like to save around ₹60,000–70,000 per month.

I’m looking for guidance on where to invest this — mutual funds, stocks, gold, silver, or any other suitable instruments.

A couple of things to note:

1.I haven’t saved or invested anything so far.
2.I’m completely new to the stock market and investing in general.

I’d really appreciate your advice on how to get started.

Thank you.

Auto/Car Car loan pre closure

Hi everyone.

I took a car loan from SBI in Feb 2025 of around 11.5 lakh.

I have paid off the loan amount early, only 30k is pending.

I talked to SBI guys and there is a loan foreclosure charge of 2%.

So 2% of theoretical balance which is approx 7.2 lakh. Approx 14k, add gst to it 18%, so total 17K approx.

Point is paying off before 2 years attracts a penalty of 2% on the remaining theoretical balance.

My question is if there is any way to avoid this?

I read somewhere to pay off remaining balance and keep only 100-200 rs in the end. And after 2 years close the loan. How true is it? Would it affect my cibil score.

Or is it better to just pay the charges and close it.

Thanks in advance!

Other I want to open a second bank account which bank should I opt for??

So as the title suggests that I want to open a new bank account, which bank is good and I should open in??

More details about the situation for you guys to understand properly:
I am fresher like got job 4 months ago, have a hdfc savings account which I have been using from last 5 years with a MAB of 5k which with respect to bank services and support is pretty decent....

Now I am looking to have another bank account, the only reason for this account would be to hold a part of money like an emergency fund so that I don't spend it as it is setting in my bank account....
My requirements for this acocunt:
1. No charges or as low as possible
2. No need for debit card, cause it will be used to transfer money to my primary account only.... so i think just netbanking would do
3. Reliable service like in case of emergenices I should be able to transfer money to my primary account as soon as possible and not stuck in times like bank is facing issues, or down times or net banking is not available....

Would really appreciate your input and suggestion on this matter.... Thank you

Edit: thanks guys for all the suggestions, will look into SBI, Slice and canara Bank to see which one seems more suitable... Thank you all for the help.

Investing Stealth Wealth in Arranged Marriage: I make ₹1.5 Cr (declaring ₹50L), refuse to buy an inflated Gurgaon flat for "optics", and want a temple wedding. Am I doomed?

I’m a 28M IT professional living in Gurgaon, originally from a middle-class family in Haryana. Financially, I’m doing very well—I make about ₹1.5 Cr annually and have built a liquid net worth of around ₹2 Cr.

My parents are officially kickstarting the arranged marriage search. Honestly, I don’t have the energy left to grind on dating apps or organically find a partner, so I am fully on board with the traditional route. But my financial reality and the expectations of the arranged marriage market are colliding hard.
\- We don’t own a "status symbol" house; my ancestral home in Haryana is quite small. To attract better prospects, my parents are heavily pressuring me to buy a property in Gurgaon so they have something tangible to showcase to families. I understand their intentions—that’s just how this market works. However, Gurgaon real estate feels massively inflated right now. I refuse to make a terrible, FOMO-driven financial investment just for matrimonial optics.
\- For our own peace of mind, we’ve decided not to disclose my actual salary. We plan to declare my income at around ₹50 LPA to filter out the wrong intentions.
\- I absolutely do not want a grand, showy wedding. I want to marry in a temple or host a very intimate gathering of 50-60 immediate family members and close friends. This isn’t about frugality; I simply refuse to blow my hard-earned money to entertain hundreds of people I don't even know.

I have the money to secure my future, but I’m intentionally presenting a heavily downgraded profile (₹50 LPA, no Gurgaon flat, demanding a tiny wedding). I know this makes me a highly unconventional prospect in the traditional market, and finding a likeminded match with this specific filter feels almost impossible.

\- How do I navigate the parental pressure to buy an inflated Gurgaon property purely for marriage optics? Are there practical workarounds to satisfy them?
\- Is under-declaring my salary a smart filtering strategy, or will it backfire and create trust issues later?
\- How do I successfully pitch a 50-person temple wedding in a typical arranged marriage setup without the other family assuming I am just being cheap?
\- Has anyone successfully navigated a similar "stealth wealth" arranged marriage? How did you find a partner who aligned with your actual values?
