They're trying to make a point in the worst way possible here.

We've all played spot the difference, we're all wired to want to spot the difference.

Are we sure a Redditor didn't come up with that ad campaign? Because I've seen thousands of people try to make points exactly like this over the years.

It also says stop caring about skirt lengths right on the ad, which basically means almost everybody will be looking at the lengths.

Are they different lengths? The difference is so minute I wasn't sure.

I don't think so, it's just an ad constructed in a dumbass way. Good point, bad implementation.

Yeah it takes me a minute to spot such a minute difference.

And it appears that the one of the right is a slightly larger size than the one on the left. It looks like the waistband is bigger.

Yes, the left skirt is a tiny bit longer.

The one on the right is wider. It's fat shaming. Going to need Peter to explain why they are doing that though.

Yeah its trying to shame people for skirt lengths... as a way to sell women's clothing!? What whiplash.

If you can tell the difference between these two apple flavors you might be Satan! Buy Apples!

Also is it the lighting or is the skirt on the left a lighter color which makes the lighter fabric along the outside seem more pronounced causing an optical illusion that one is shorter and they are just the same skirt? Or is one actually shorter?

Someone said it's about some hemming thing, that's the only difference. Shading is defo lighting.

The ad literally tells you to spot the difference.

It's like Picard and the lights. You want me to pretend those are the same skirt? They're not. I'm a woman of a certain age, and I'd only even try on one of them. And not because of the stitching.

It is a very ineffective ad. "If you do the thing we are asking you to do, you're a perv!"

As someone with zero fashion sense but a dire need to know... what's the difference?

2

u/kingswaggy Jul 31 '26

From what I can see, the left is longer.

3

u/Illustrious_Nobody71 Jul 31 '26

Ah, weird they'd make the only difference length and then complain about people noticing the length is different. Anyways, thanks for explaining.

I honestly believe we could solve a lot of problems in this country if we stop teaching kids spot the difference and instead taught kids spot the things that are the same.

They're trying to make a point in the worst way possible here.

Considering this is an ad by a coupon app, "the point" is likely to generate interest and/or controversy.

Good catch, I completely missed that. I assumed it was for some non-profit or something.

Yeah, they're a coupon company in India. I'm not even sure this is real knowing that.

u/Gizogin Jul 30 '26

They're not even trying to make a point, though. Judging by the rest of the text on the billboard, they're just trying to sell some fashion app.

2

u/Neveronlyadream Jul 30 '26

Yeah, someone already pointed it out.

It's an Indian coupon company. And I don't even know if it's real. It's on their Insta, but it's like the only one in English, so it might be a photoshop or AI.
