I’m American. I’m pretty sure most of us who have even a passing understanding of WW2 know the efforts we put in were mostly in the pacific theater. I’d replace “Americans” with “uneducated MAGA yokels” and not have any arguments.
I think this is mostly accurate. But the emphasis is definitely on our financial support and then D-Day invasion. And how the US saved Europe. Which is not like technically wrong but there was so much happening and sacrifice by Europeans it sorta mitigates the other contributions.
But in my head we defeated Japan single handedly with maybe a bit of an assist by China. I don’t know exactly how accurate that representation is but that’s the feeling I have about it.
