I had to Google it, it's yet another terrible Disney+ show.
Apparently, Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat) played Mephisto. I kind of want to see how that worked out. He's a good actor, but pretty much the last person I would guess to be in a MCU movie or show. I don't recognize anyone else in the show.
he nailed mephisto, the show isn't that bad either but they really need better writers. hell for a successor to such beloved heroes you'd need the absolute best writers in the first place.
I didn't have Disney+ for a while but got it when the new Daredevil season same out. After that I went back and started watching some of the other shows. I did finish She-Hulk but I couldn't even get past the first episode of Iron-Heart or Ms Marvel.
Edit: Wonder Man was great though, if anyone has completely given up, check it out. It's the best Marvel anything in sometime (outside of Spider-Man, but I consider that Sony??)
interesting, found she hulk pretty underwhelming, iron heart was watchable, ms marvel can't remember any of it lol. gonna give wonder man a chance i guess
LOL, I'm not saying She-Hulk was very good, maybe it was because it was first up and I was just done with crappy writing by the time I tried the other two.
Wonder Man starts a bit slow, but that's because it sort of a good story first about a guy with super powers and they take some time setting things up, rather than super powered guy who they just put in a story. If that makes any sense.
The show was way better than I expected it to be, and better than the hate it got online. I finally watched it because my super-critical friend that doesn't like anything gave it like an 8/10. I figured if he liked it, there must be something to it.
In the MCU series she’s one of the kids who got the MIT scholarship Stark was doing way back in Civil War. She made a vibranium-finding gizmo that pissed off Wakanda, yadda yadda. She got kicked out of MIT for selling cheats, trying get money to make an emergency services armor suit. Her bestie died, so her goal is a sort of Iron Man EMT/Ambulance thing. She’s got no money or access to things, so she scams, gets in trouble with the wrong people, Mephisto shows up, to be continued.
She was one of the many "all new all different" marvel characters that flopped miserably, because they had no substance of their own, and every story told was all about shitting on the actual hero they were pretending to be, and marvel dropped nearly all of them for poor sales.
Ironman wannabe Riri Williams as Ironheart, Amadeus Cho as as a Bruce Banner knockoff, etc
Only ones that have stuck around are Kamala Khan's Ms Marvel and Sam Wilson's Cpt America
Im down for an ironman successor but they need to have some form of charisma (like Tony stark's narcissistic show-boaty tendencies), if all she has is bashing the dead guy in can see why it got negative reception
For the record, they came from that awful period of media where every story had to shit on the established white male lead because the pendulum swung too far in the opposite direction
The first scene after the flashback is her trying to excuse away helping tons of other students cheat, then when being escorted out she steals a bunch of parts from the lab including the suit she built while at MIT. She says "she built it with her own grant money" but there are tons of different ways grant money is awarded and based on her being super secretive at the beginning about taking stuff I'm gonna assume she knows it's not actually hers.
She then goes back to Chicago and joins the Hood's crew to make more money so she can finish her project. That is legit a villain backstory
