The fatigue with the campiness of all of these movies and shows also has not been addressed. Well, and it became overwhelming to try to keep up with them all - the required watching list for Doomsday is absurd

Disney wants to make as many Marvel movies as possible but there was always a specific tempo to the marvel movies. You had 3 to 4 movies that fed into each avenger film, and that was it.

I saw someone say the MCU is now engaging in the exact problem that comics have, where there's just too much to keep up with, too many retcons and alternative universe bullshit, which is why the MCU originally saw success because they had a very narrow scope and it was easy to keep up.

I guarantee most of it is just a character showing up for a scene, or saying a line that references the events of one of those things. You will still get like 95% of the enjoyment without watching all of them.

I do think the modern MCU is absurd, and should slow down (or ideally just stop for a bit).

But I expect most of these films will not particularly be required watching for Doomsday, as long as you're willing to accept some wacky character you don't know about coming onto the screen suddenly.

Right? Shang Chi isn't required viewing unless you HAVE to know his backstory. Otherwise he's just a master martial artist with magic rings that helps fight.

Yeah. It seems like some marvel movies are just way too cookie cutter. Quantumania and the Marvels in particular felt like they stuck to the "marvel comedy formula" way too closely.

I mean, it wasn't awful per se, but it was somewhat disappointing. And I'm not even including the post-credit scene.
