It's still boring, at least in the MCU context. We already had Iron Man with a super gizmo suit. And Rhodey. And technically whatever Pepper is. Do we really need another?

And we have like 6 supersoldiers now, isn't it boring?

Yup. Just because that's boring that doesn't mean having a Discount Captain America/Iron Man hybrid with none of what made those characters interesting is any better.

Sam Wilson isn't a bad character--he's got an interesting enough background and his whole pilot shtick is okay, even if it feels not different enough from Rhodey. But he sure ain't leading man material.

It’s better than watching a normal human go up against super villains.

Tony and Rhodey are normal humans, and doing just fine. But Sam isn't?

Not comparable. Iron man’s whole thing is a super armor suit. Hes the original.

Sam is more comparable to Hawkeye.

Lol, not at all. Sam is comparable to Rhodey, and now has higher tech than him. He is literally flying in vibranium suit on supersonic speed, lol.

Again, a “super suit” is iron man’s thing and by extension, war machine. That is not captain americas thing hence the overall dislike as Sam. Giving Sam a generic super suit takes away from his character and goes against him not needing a serum. It’s all generic, mid writing.

Sam is like Iron Man (cool flying suit) but better (wings, more exciting, physical fighting style instead of just shooting laser beams).

He’s like Hawkeye (unenhanced but athletically perfected human with skills and cool gadgets and weapons) but better (can fly!).

And he’s like Steve (physical fighter, cool shield) but better (can fly, has gadgets [Redwing]).

And he’s distinct from all of them because his first reaction isn’t “I’m going to kick it in the face” but “let’s talk about this.”

I really don’t understand the complaints. 🤷‍♀️

The problem is: He's boring.

It doesn't matter if you make a superhero sampler pack or not if the character themselves is boring on screen and from actor to writing to directing, he's boring.

Also Hawkeye really pushes the boundary of being a human or not. In an MCU with mutants, it's very hard not to think he has some mutation.

Okay. If you think a guy who was a pararescue chosen for a classified super tech project who survived tragedy and became a counselor, who then adopted Captain America when the whole country was against him, became an Avenger, opposed the Sokovia accords, and sacrificed his freedom so Steve and Bucky could escape that airport skirmish, then gave up his life for two years (for starters) is boring, then so be it. 🤷‍♀️

(And also is the funniest Avenger by far. And likes cats.)

I hate to break it to you, but boring is boring. It has nothing to do with the character backstory or a laundry list of accomplishments--plenty of children make up incredibly boring heroes who are ninjas but also can fly and also can read minds but then also are aliens and also are the chosen one and zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Conversely, it's why something like Better Call Saul was able to make amazing drama from two lawyer brothers beefing, which should be boring as shit on paper. It's not the why, it's the how. Writing 101.

Sorry bud. Falcon (at least in the MCU) is boring as shit.
