Its always pertinent to remember that the "Dragon" that St George slays in the story they tell about him is supposed to be an allegory for paganism. And that story ignores the actual events in St George's life and rips off the pagan/Norse myth of Siegfried and Brunhilde (I am using the Western European names because the Northern European names and spellings completely escape me).
