Well-read people have implemented other systems and they failed.
Humans aren't chess pieces you can place on a board and expect to stay in their place. Capitalism is an outlet to channel selfishness away from the most destructive options and to do some good. Pretending that selfishness doesn't exist doesn't make it go away.
Not accounting for human selfishness as an inevitability is the worst thing you can do.
What are you talking about? Even the world bank, a famously liberal institution admitted that standards of living are higher under communism. There has yet to be a communist government that's fallen due to internal instability. Hell, Cuba has a higher life expectancy than the US, and we've been attacking them for like 60 years

Cuban communism and American capitalism would both do a lot better if the US Status Quo Apparatus didn't get in the way. What the States have isn't the definition of capitalism. It's one implementation combined with an antiquated political structure that hinders almost as much as it helps.
The problem America has isn't capitalism in general. It's how it does politics, combined with plenty of attention from adversaries that stop it from fixing its own problems.
What the US has is literally the definition of capitalism. We have an owning class that runs the country, and a managerial class that's appeased by the violent exploitation of the global south, and a working class that's violently exploited slightly less.
Cuba has lower homelessness and a higher life expectancy in spite of 60 years of violent US aggression.
Besides all that, what would a Romanian onow of the USSR? Weren't you guys a satellite state for a decade after you sided with the nazis, then fell back into liberalism with Ceaușescu?
