I need help preparing physics 1 exam
I’ve got the exam on Friday but I’ve got difficulties understanding the part of the dynamic and mechanics of rigid body and also thermodynamics. Can someone help me pls?

One of the rare times I'd suggest using AI. Screenshot sample questions you don't understand and tell it to break them down explaining the physics behind the problem and how to solve it.

Don't use chat GPT. You might have to pay for access to Claude or something else. It'll be cheaper than a tutor.
Occasionally there are mistakes but spotting them is part of the learning

So you recommend Claude? I never used it, I usually use Gemini

Gemini is fine for most basic problems tbh. What textbook are you using? What practice problems are you working on? What solutions have had errors that you knew were wrong?

I’m not using a specific textbook becouse my professor explained things of physics 1 and ok so something of rational mechanics and thermodynamics. I’m trying to solve problems with impulse and so on. Gemini use a superficial way of resolving problems and uses simple formulas but they give a wrong result

Rotation, thermodynamics and impulse etc are all simple formulas, how do you know it's the wrong result?

Yeah I know those are all simple formulas but our professor teach them in a rigorous way and want this in his exam. The problems he gives us doesn’t permit to apply directly formulas

What? Forumas are just math to solve problems. Any problem can be expressed in a formula - can you just share a problem here, and what you got from Gemini and why you think it is wrong? I don't really understand what it is your professor is asking for physics 1 problems that can't be solved with formula

Un semidisco di raggio R ha una densità superficiale di massa dipendente dall'angolo polare θ, data da σ(θ)=csinθ(con c da determinare in funzione della massa totale M). Il semidisco è incernierato ne suo centro di massa G a un perno fisso ideale su una parete verticale. Il diametro rettilineo del semidisco è collegato a un suo estremo a una molla orizzontale di costante elastica k, il cui altro estremo
è fissato alla parete.
1. Calcolare il raggio di inerzia del semidisco rispetto al perno.
2. Trovare l'angolo di equilibrio stabile formato dal diametro del semidisco con la verticale.
3. Al sistema in quiete viene applicato un impulso orizzontale J sull'estremo inferiore del semidisco.
Calcolare l'impulso minimo necessario per far ruotare il sistema fino a comprimere la molla della metà della sua lunghezza a riposo.
4. Trovare l'equazione delle reazioni vincolari impulsive orizzontali e verticali sviluppate dal
perno in G.
5. Calcolare il periodo delle piccole oscillazioni attorno alla posizione di equilibrio.
