i recently 3d printed a terrapin, I'm trying my best with lenses but I'm really struggling, is there an easy way to be sure that the hole is fully centered? or better yet a way to guarantee that the holes i popping in the soda can metal are actually .3 mm like they should be? I'm looking through it and i can basically see an incredibly narrow view but i don't know if that means its too small or if id even be able to tell if its the right size by looking through it, I've never done anything related to pinhole photography until now so any advice would be appreciated. thanks all

Finally getting some good result after five tries. Do you think the image is too blurry or is it just blurry to an acceptable degree as for a DIY pinhole camera? I’ve also noticed the highlight part in my past attempts has always been overexposed (when sky is in the photo, for example), and I believe this problem has been mentioned by others too. I’m wondering if it could solve it by controlling my development next time (such as leaving the highlight part in the developer for a shorter time)?

Help. I am considering getting a Pinsta Pro. I would like, as a project, use Zebra dry plates. Zebra confirmed the tintype plate is 0.6mm. I’m trying to figure out the image carrier thickness of the Pinsta Pro. Nothing on their website and they haven’t responded to any emails. Thank you.

Hi there! I recently took my first photos using my homemade pinhole camera (cardboard, 0,36mm aperture), and went to develop the paper (fomaspeed 312, about 13 minutes of exposure) at my uni’s darkroom. However, the negatives turned out greyish and low contrast, to the point of the positives being completely white. Is there something I’m doing wrong? I know the problem is not in the revealing process, since my photography teacher helped me with it. Maybe it’s the exposure? Can someone help?

Hey all -- just trying to find a caring home for some commercially-made 4x5 pinholes I've used in the past. I got these originally for cyanotype printing but as my darkroom practice has grown, I've used these less and less. My enlarger only takes up to 6x7 negatives so my 4x5 equipment has really taken a back seat.

If anyone can make use of them then I'm happy to pass them on.

Hi folks! I’ve picked up pinehole photography a few weeks ago. I’m still making lots of mistakes but in general, I feel like I’m progressing and I know what to do next time to avoid errors I noticed in previous pictures.

However, I run into one particular issue consistently and I can’t find any answer for this one: all my pictures have a sort of stain/visual artifact where the luminosity is lower than the rest of the scene. I’ve attached some of my pictures to illustrate what I’m saying.

Does anybody know what it could be? I was wondering that maybe the product for developing is not prefectly mixed. I don’t have all the details but the one I use is a powder made of coffee byproduct that I mix with water.

Nothing like finding out after shooting a roll of 6x9 pinhole you used the wrong ND!

Thought I had a 3-stop ND on the camera. Metered for it. Exposed for it.
Get back and… it’s a 10-stop ND.

Hello everyone, I recently got into pinhole photography again and was looking for some cheap paper, as I‘m kinda running out. Right now I‘m using Ilford direct positive paper (4x5“), I don‘t mind negative paper though. Thanks in advance!

Hello! I am quite new to photography in general, and I'd like to experiment with a pinhole camera but:
- I can't buy photographic paper or chemicals right now;
- I'd prefer not to develop the photos at home as of now;
- Don't want to try it with regular film too (for now).

I saw somewhere that it's possible to do pinhole cameras but with digital instead, but I am not sure how because all tutorials I see are traditional pinhole cameras, developing the negatives at home.
I was wondering if it's possible to modify a 10-20$ cheap no brand digital camera/toy camera I can get at eletronic stores, or get and modify a 10-20$ old second hand digital camera from the 2000s, or even modify one of my spare Kodak Charmera clones from Aliexpress (G6 Thumb Camera), and try pinhole photography that way?

Any ideas?

Everything I see on the internet involves doing the development at home (which I totally understand but I can't do it at this point in my life) or using normal film and develop it at a film store (which I won't have access to right now, I wish I could experiment with outside pinhole cameras with tin cans and normal paper too, but of course it's impossible), so I'd like to know if there's anything else I could experiment with, using a cheap camera or modifying one, or point me to a tutorial?

A 95% is solar eclipse will be visible in the UK today. I can't get viewing glasses at short notice. (eBay cancelled my order last week). If I make a pinhole viewer from a cereal box, will the orientation of the box matter. If I make it long ways, pinhole at the top projecting onto the bottom will this give a bigger image than making the hole in the side? I want to make it on the side so I have a larger space to make sure the sun hits the hole and is not obscured by my big head.
