Nico was attacked by his mama at 3 days old. She bit half his ear off and caused several deep lacerations in his back and shoulder. He couldn’t go back with her, so I bottle fed him for the amazing Underdog Rescue Ranch in Detroit. He was adopted around 10 weeks old, and I can’t believe how huge he is now, at 7 months old. It’s always so cool to see fragile little newborns grow up to be so big and strong.

It’s been two months of dealing with an aural hematoma.
Last Friday, we had the strings pulled again. 🥳
The healing process is going well.
The vet said Nila could take off the hat for short periods of time.

AND NOW?
Well…
Now, we have to deal with a pib who’s absolutely not happy taking the damn hat off. Sitting there staring at us “are you guys serious?!” Or even jumps away by the time I’m opening the Velcro fastening.
She got absolutely used wearing the hat.

To be honest, it’s kinda hilarious.
But to the ones who dealt with similar like an aural hematoma or else: Did your dogs show the same behavior after the long time of eating the hat?

Kimchi and Karoo claiming an entire sofa.

Took her back to the emergency vet for her 2 week follow-up since her last exam. She finished the 2nd round of her antibiotics tonight. Vet agreed her seroma has gotten noticeably smaller but wants to see what it does without the antibiotics. She did an ultrasound and said there was scar tissue underneath. We have a phone follow-up next Monday to see how her seroma is progressing and if we need to proceed with other options. She is now 41.2 pounds.

I rescued him when a neighbor moved out and left him behind. We've been together for almost 10 years now. He's my best friend

He's very smart, and sweet, and silly. He has soft fur like a puppy, probably because he's part chow (lion dog) !

hes 2 now had him since he was five months he weighs 55 pounds

everyone loved his underbite teefies yesterday so I figured I would share his little vampire fangs and smile today

He is the sweetest! We’ve only had him for two days but he’s been a lil cutie. He seems to be potty trained and loves to give kisses 🥹 just wanted to share ♥️🫶🏾

His name is Rexford!

Today Marvin had to go to daycare. When I picked him up, I asked the person at the front desk how he’s been doing. Because he’s had some trouble in the past, and I want to make sure that he’s getting along with all the other dogs. She tells me that he’s doing great and never has to be separated any more than the other dogs that go there.

She then goes on to tell me, “We really only had to separate him when another dog would bother Earl. He was really protective.” Earl was his brother that we had to put down in April. I could have cried right there. Of course I want Marvin to get along well with other dogs and avoid the “reactive” tag that many of our dogs get labeled with. But to say that I wasn’t proud that he always looked out for his brother would be a lie. We don’t deserve these awesome animals.
