Discussion (PC) What wrong with Fortification update ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iwJvc7YDoUOne thing the team behind the Fortification update failed to grasp is that the Anti-Aircraft Turret was originally designed to operate via an automated AI module, given the AI's 100% firing accuracy. However, once the AI module was removed, players found themselves unable to effectively control the turret to deter aircraft.
Remember i'm top 1 A2G of PS2, i can beat any things no matter what anti air method they use. But the only things i can't beat is Anti aircraft turnet firing by Module

I read ‘what’s wrong with the fornication update?’ and was like “GoodNESS the dev team is getting desperate.”

The issue with the construction update is it didn't remove construction.

As much hate the construction system gets, taking the A.I. module away was the worst change they made. Made the infantry turret semi useless and the air turret completely useless, forcing builders to try and hide their entire base under the skyshields for protection.

Taking the A.I. module away was the
worstbest change they madeFixed that for you
Made fighting in enemy construction as infantry not complete dog shit
No longer punished for simply existing near enemy construction
Made flying A2A more rewarding by removing "Run away and let turrets do heavy chip damage to anyone who chases you" as a tactic.

The old modules were super weak, all damage types hurt them. I used to take a Cannister Harasser into bases, find a dead zone for the AV turret and just start wrecking stuff. Of course people who don't build are gonna hate everything about construction, but I both build and blow up bases and the old system was better for all involved.

The AI was horrible. If you hit one construction item on accident while fighting other air all construction, regardless of faction, will now shoot at you accurately across the entire continent. Not fun at all. Other than for people who just play Minecraft in a shooter of course.

I think the worst part was the modules requiring back and forth constantly. Removing AI would be fine if the Fortress Shield was a toggle.

removing the AI module gutted the AA turret. manual control against aircraft is a nightmare, and the top A2G players know it. construction already had enough headaches without making base defense even weaker

If you want to defend against A2G and the turret is really that hard to control just get your own ESF.

AI module was mainly for anti-personnel turret to protect your vehicle terminal from getting hacked, which when removed, the vehicle terminals are unprotectable and unusable. The AV version did not work. And the AA version was broken and unfair.
But the AI module is unnecessary, and rather construction needs low turret versions of anti-personnel and AA turrets.
Everything is wrong with fortification update. Especially devs taking away your ability to lock silo, instead giving you module lock, and allowing griefers to deplete your silo from full to nothing in an instant, most probably with scripts.
I can explain every detail of construction but ultimately when you get into the core... It has to be removed from the game. It is incompatible. Only mounts complications for the devs, and I heard the modification to game engine traded off certain essential qualities of the game, such as sound effects and performance, all for something which is once again, incompatible, has no correlation with the core game, can never have unless game is redesigned entirely into something which cannot work with an MMO.
