Discussion (PC) Planetside 3?

Will there be a Planetside 3? Recently got back to PC gaming and started remembering how much fun I had with Planetside 2.

I think a modern version could really revolutionize pc gaming.

We'll see what the chinese overlords do with it in the future.

I mean the IP just got bought by Tencent last month, you would think they're gonna do something with it eventually but either way its gonna take many many years even if they start developing it tomorrow

WARDOGS is a TACTICAL ALL OUT WARFARE FPS where one hundred players split across three teams fight over the control zone.

one hundred players

Your new planetside is a lil small

Agreed, also I’m trying to figure how 100 players splits evenly into 3 teams

Real. Should be 108 (36x3) but that doesn't sound good in marketing

Nah that’s arma koth as a standalone game.

Shares some similarities but it’s not planetside

Tencent could make a planetside 3, but it wouldn't be anything like 2 and would be designed to make as much money as possible whilst spending as little as possible. Realistically, its a toss up overall as no one knows for certain

Pretty sure planetside 2 was designed with the same philosophy, make as much money as possible.

Being owned by Tencent doesn't automatically put you in that space either. It depends on the level of control that the company retains of the product.

Edit: fixing autocorrect

Yes. Im trying to apply for the tram to make sure it lives up to planetside.

I haven't gotten any callbacks for my resume with tencent yet tho

We have to wait and see what Tencent will do with the IP. Chinese games have seen an uptick in popularity recently so I'm sure they want to keep that ball rolling with something as ambitious as an MMOFPS
