Hey Conifer Collective! š²
Title Update 1.1 has officially landed on the lawn, bringing a host of new quality-of-life updates, new adventure zones, and a very frosty returning friend.
Whatās Sprouting in TU1.1?

Snow Conifer is back and is pine-ing to take on some Zombies! This ice cold Conifer can be created by merging a Jumbrella Leaf and Iceweed, who will also be available in this Plant Pass.Ā
The Snow Conifer Plant Pass goes live on September 2nd, alongside 25 new Adventure levels. Prepare your leafy defenders to take on a host of Volleyball Zombies and Flapjack Zombies!
š² A Quick Update on Plant Debuts
Starting with this update, weāre shifting how new plants make their grand debut on the lawn. We design each Plant Pass alongside new Lawn Patrol levels. Lawn Patrol is a shared community showcase, with levels and challenges built specifically to let each new plantās unique abilities shine.
To keep these launches feeling like a true neighborhood-wide premiere where everyone explores new strategies together, featured plants will now debut exclusively through their active Plant Pass (available on both the free and paid tracks). After their introductory Plant Pass wraps up, these new additions will join the standard almanac roster to be unlocked as usual, but while the Plant Pass is running, that is the only way to unlock them.

Welcome back to Dave's Test Kitchen, where we analyze experimental lawn recipes to make Neighborville a better place to defend.
Last time, we ran a test regarding which units we include in a Plant Pass. We paired a new Tier 2 plant (Buzz Choy) with two additional plants that our data showed were rarely owned by players. We also adjusted the points required to complete the pass after Milestone 17 to see if the overall progression felt more rewarding.
š¢What do the numbers say?
With the Buzz Choy Plant Pass, those who jumped in played much more intensely, leading to our highest completion rates to date! Our findings indicate that players appreciate earning a powerful new unit alongside a few harder-to-get plants they might have missed.
While this doesnāt mean every future Plant Pass will use this exact layout, it helps us understand how to balance rewards so they feel worthwhile, whether youāve been tending your lawn for years or just moved in next door.
š«µšWe want your feedback!Ā

We want to hear from you directly! We have a permanent player survey available in your in-game inbox titled "Brainz Wanted!". This survey is always open and can be completed multiple times. Please drop us a note whenever you have feedback, positive or constructive. It directly helps us see what is working and what still needs a little water.
We are introducing several quality-of-life upgrades to make defending your lawn smoother and more intuitive.

Who knew getting your brains eaten was actually a learning opportunity? In this update, weāre introducing a defeat screen that serves up personalized tips for your next round if zombies manage to breach your house.
The screen will suggest specific plants you could upgrade, unlock, swap in, or merge before your next attempt, and point out the best counter-units to use against the specific zombies that gave you trouble. You can also head straight to the Almanac directly from this screen to make quick adjustments.

Need to catch your breath mid-fight? Weāve redesigned the in-battle pause menu to provide helpful tactical hints. If you are struggling with an incoming wave, the menu will suggest effective plant merges you haven't tried yet or highlight units currently missing from your active lineup that would help turn the tide.

The Almanac and individual plant cards have received a sleek new look! Weāve redesigned these screens to make it much easier to see your plantās current level and identify exactly what resources you need for your next upgrade. This makes it clearer than ever to understand how to beef up your botanical squad.
Thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts as we continue to grow through Early Access! If you run into any bugs, be sure to report them on the Forums and check out our Known Issues list. For more updates and sneak peeks, be sure youāre following our social channels on Tiktok, Instagram, YouTube, X, and Facebook.Ā

PSA: Given the recent issues with people losing their profiles (often associated with updates), please, get a screen shot of your Player ID. You can find it by tapping the āSettingsā (wrench icon) button and then selecting āBuild Versionā (on Android) or "Download Preferences" (on iOS). Using it the EA help desk can usually restore your profile if you ever lose it.
Ā
Special streak rewards: #5 Reinforce-mint family piƱata.
Reinforce-mint family (14+2 plants): Wall-nut, Tall-nut, Infi-nut, Pea-nut, Sweet Potato, Chard Guard, Endurian, Primal Wall-nut, Aloe, Holly Barrier, Pumpkin, Gumnut, Blockoli, Bean Sprout, Guard-shroom, Scorchoak
Note: Reinforce-mint āseedsā are also included in the piƱata. Reinforce-mint still needs to be unlocked for 100 mints no matter how many seeds you collect for it.
Note: Guard-shroom and Scorchoak are not included in the piƱata.
Ā
Locked plant:Ā Scorchoak āĀ Fandom Wiki, Wiki.GG (this page is not yet complete)
Sun: 1500 at the start. Note: Sun drops will be a little faster than adventure mode normal and an additional 250 sun will drop with every second zombie wave. There will also be a lot of sun available from gravestones. A sun producer is probably not necessary.
Plant Food: 1 at the start. Note: Up to 23 plant foods will be available from Gravestones during the match.Ā
Time: 3:00.
Ā
Plant Cooldown Times are Halved!
Ā
Buffz: Reinforce-mint (+100%)
Bruisez: Appease-mint (-50%)
Ineffective: Bombard-mint (-100%)
Ā
Banned: Grave Buster, Blover, Hot Potato, Thyme Warp, Bramble Bush, Levitator
Zombies: Ancient Egypt (Ra), Lost City (Parasol, Bug), Far Future (Bug Bot Imp), Neon Mixtape Tour (Glitter), Modern Day (Basic, All-Star, Super-Fan Imp), Summer Nights (Bug)
Ā
Starting Lawn:
Daveās Mold Colonies on C7-9
Three green Power Tiles on C1 R2/4 and C2 R3
Three yellow Power Tiles on C3 R1/5 and C4 R3
Three blue Power Tiles on C5 R2/3/4
Three pre-planted Scorchoaks on C5 R2/3/4
Visually the lawn will look like the below:
| PT-Y | M | M | M | |||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PT-G | SO+PT-B | M | M | M | ||||
| PT-G | PT-Y | SO+PT-B | M | M | M | |||
| PT-G | SO+PT-B | M | M | M | ||||
| PT-Y | M | M | M |
Spider Rain: Starting at ~2:32, Spider Rain will drop Bug Bot Imps onto anywhere from column 3 to 9 on the lawn.Ā The first Spider Rain event will drop 5 Bug Bots followed by a second Spider Rain event ~8 seconds later dropping 6 more Bug Bots. These two Spider Rain events will repeat approximately every 25 seconds throughout the match.
Ā
Gravestone Spawning (No Necromancy): Approximately every 8 seconds, five Gravestones will spawn in C6, four of which will be Sun Gravestones and one will be a Plant-food Gravestone. Putting plants in C6 is not advised as they will be displaced (or destroyed if there are no nearby free spaces on the lawn) when the Gravestones appear.
Ā
Power Tile Resets: Approximately 30 seconds into the match (and repeating approximately every 25 seconds thereafter), the power tiles on the lawn will be reset, changing to five yellow Power tiles on C1 R2/4, C3 R3 and C4 R1/5.Ā This will wipe-out any power tiles you may have created with Tile Turnip.Ā Using Tile Turnip is NOT advised.
Ā
Note:Ā All times quoted and plant food estimates are based on my practice rounds and game experience are entirely dependent on how quickly youāre killing the zombie waves.
Ā
Zombot Dinotronic Mechasaur
Summons Jurassic Marsh Zombies: (Conehead, Buckethead, Fossilhead, Amberhead, Imp, Bully, Rockpuncher, Gargantuar). I think all summoned zombies will appear on C7/8.
Summons Dinosaurs (Raptor, Pterodactyl, Stegosaurus, T.Rex, Ankylosaurus)
Fires 1-3 missiles onto random tiles from C1-C6. The missile destroys the plant on that tile and damages plants in the 3x3 area.
Fires lasers that will destroy all plants/zombies and scorch tiles on 1 row.
Note: Primal Wall-nut can withstand Zombot attacks. Plant Food boosted plants on the target tiles can interrupt missiles, but not the lasers.
There is a health bar with a base score and a number in a circle in the lower right corner. The number in the circle is the level of your Zombot. Level 1 = 10,000 score, Level 2 = 20,000, etc. It's kind of two numbers for the same thing.
You get the score when you deplete the health bar. In Jade you get 5x the base score shown in the health bar. Iām not sure if the actual Zombot health increases per level, or stays flat.
Don't think about losing your plants (there are penalties in Arena matches, read Battlez/Arena FAQ, link below). Most scores come from Zombot and its level is not influenced by penalties. Also, if you do a lot of damage then Zombot gets interrupted before doing anything.
Ā
Maximum Opponent Scores:Ā This is one of the Zombots that allows players to reach the magic āguaranteed winā point threshold. The game will only give you opponents whose scores are below a maximum value.Ā These are league dependent as shown below:
| League | Max Opponent Score | Zombot Health Bars Needed |
|---|---|---|
| Soil | 15,000,000 | 25 |
| Wood | 15,000,000 | 25 |
| Brick | 20,000,000 | 29 |
| Iron | 25,000,000 | 33 |
| Bronze | 30,000,000 | 36 |
| Silver | 35,000,000 | 38 |
| Gold | 40,000,000 | 41 |
| Jade | 45,000,000 | 43 |
In the actual match youāll also be getting some points from Zombie kills so you may be able to get to the point threshold for your league with one less Zombot Health Bar.
Ā
Possible BOT Layouts:
[Scorchoak, Peashooter, Rotobaga, Kernel-pult, Frost Bonnet, Shine-vine],
[Scorchoak, Threepeater, Pepper-pult, Blast Spinner, Sunflower, Rotobaga],
[Scorchoak, Rotobaga, Pea Pod, Tomb Tangler, Mega Gatling Pea, Twin Sunflower]
Ā
Minimum info about your strategy: league, plant levels/mastery and score. Or you can post screenshot with the score. Otherwise it's hard to understand whether your strategy will work for other players with different plant levels/mastery and in different leagues.

This tourney is nearly identical to the Sour Shot tournament from September, 2025. The only changes from that tourney to this one are the Buffz/Bruisez/Negations and pre-planted Scorchoaks instead of pre-planted Sour Shots.Ā Both of these tourneys are very similar to both the Sundew Tangler Zomboss tourney from October, 2023 and the Sweetheart Snare tourney from March, 2025. Hereās my post from the Sundew Tangler tourney, and my post from the Sweetheart Snare tourney. In them you can find some of the strategies that worked during those tourneys.Ā
Ā
Here are the notable differences between the three tourneys:
| Scorchoak | Sour Shot | Sweetheart Snare | Sundew Tangler | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buffz | Reinforce | Appease / Contain | Spear / Enforce | Enlighten / Appease |
| Bruisez | Appease | Spear | Reinforce | none |
| Negated | Bombard | none | none | Spear |
| Banned | Same as Sour shot Ā | Grave Buster, Blover, Hot Potato, Thyme Warp, Bramble Bush, Levitator | Blover, Hot Potato, Electric Blueberry, Perfume-shroom, Shrinking Violet | Thyme Warp, Lily Pad, Tangle Kelp |
| Starting Sun | Same as Sour shot Ā | 1500 | 1850 | 1850 |
| Zombie Wave Sun Drops | Same as Sour shot Ā | 250 | 50 | 50 |
| Period Sun Drops | Same as Sour shot Ā | Fast | Very Fast | Very Fast |
| Starting Plant Food | Same as Sour shot Ā | 1 | 2 | 2 |
| Evil Potions | Same as Sour shot Ā | No | Yes | Yes |
| Initial Power Tiles | Same as Sour shot Ā | Yes | No | NO |
| Pre-planted Plants | Scorchoak in C5 | Sour Shot in C5 | Sweetheart Snare in C6 | Sundew Tangler in C6 |
| Zombie Wave Repeat Time | Same as Sour shot Ā | Minimum of 24s | Minimum of 36s | Minimum of 36s |
kGame is a former YouTube content creator. While theyāve retired from doing PvZ2 strategy videos, their videos are still available as a reference. Here are the vidoes from the Sundew Tangler tourney.Ā They may still be viable, but Appease-mint plants were buffed in that tourney and theyāre bruised this time:

Its basically a nuke, with a full 2 minute recharge, it kills both plants and zombies, but it costs 25, so its a ālast resortā plant

It states that he delivers the biggest punch on the lawn and even lets us run the numbers. I ran them and it turns out Mortar-shroom deals 100 damage while melon-pult deals only 80. (this is a joke)

I just finished my hypno shroom take,,, would it be cool if like she's the "good" twin of the doom shroom i made? Xd (kinda intentional)
r/PlantsVSZombies • u/papishu • 5h ago
My version of doom shroom w the art trend of pvz! It's my first time just jump straight to painting and not doing lineart xd I think I'll do this process more often. Might make hypno shroom next

I want to make the Sun-shroom from Plants vs. Zombies humanoid, and I think it turned out well, as it is my first time animating a character!
If you have any suggestions for which plant (or zombie) to make next, please let me know.
r/PlantsVSZombies • u/FlakyMidnight5526 • 37m ago
This is a little embarrassing, but I never noticed puff-shroom's second eye. I always thought it was just its side profile and the second eye was behind its head, like Cob Cannon. It's probably because the resolution on GOTY is really low, and the screen on a phone is super tiny. I only noticed it on replanted because of how big and detailed the seed packets are, but I think I like the plant a little less now

Not as fine looking as the previous but she's good enough, also tried a new ref image format and such, not making another one for a while but glad to get two out at least
(Also I got a boatload of plants to make zombotany OCs of buuuuttt if anyone wants to chime in with a plant suggestion go for it I suppose)
