Promotional Interested In a Poetry Server?[PROMO]

Interested in a poetry server?

I don't want to self-promote so I won't be giving the links out but basically my friend has a kind of idea.

He wants to connect poets, writers, beta readers, WorldBuilders, artists and other people of various medium together! It sounds interesting and he has start working on it!

So was curious can people join it? I don't know what other subreddits to target but my friend is suffering from a tough phase and it's been so long since I have since seem him happy.

I am managing the server, so I am asking from the poets what do u want for in the server?

There is a dedicated category to poetry and would love to see u guys interact with my friend.

\[I would add the link if I am allowed to otherwise dm me for it!\]

There are so many so powefull poems of his. This one seemed appropriate for today.

As I am want to do, it comes with a rendition on the ol' radio.

It's strange. It made me think of that powerplant somehow. The smokestacks towering so tall you could see them for miles around, dismantled and gone. The Landscape strangely altered in an unfamiliar way. Something that always was there, though at times not really pretty to look at, mind, now missing from the world.

Poem [POEM] Excerpt from The Contrariness of the Mad Farmer by Wendell Berry

‘Dance,’ they told me, and I stood still, and while they stood quiet in line at the gate of the Kingdom, I danced.

‘Pray,’ they said, and I laughed, covering myself in the earth’s brightnesses, and then stole off gray into the midst of a revel, and prayed like an orphan.

When they said, ‘I know my Redeemer liveth,’ I told them, ‘He’s dead.’

And when they told me ‘God is dead,’ I answered, ‘He goes fishing every day in the Kentucky River. I see Him often.’

Help!! [HELP]The quiet beauty of spinsterhood

Title says most of it. Looking for poetry, long or short, about how lovely it can be to be single and wild. or the opposite, the struggle deciding to be single can cause, but not wanting to give it up regardless.

thank you

Help!! [HELP] Solution for trying to write a long narrative poem?

Upvotes

As the title says I find myself struggling to write the poem in iambic pentameter, yet I am skilled enough in the formal form to just improvise a lyrical short poem with little guidance, just a theme and character. With this narrative poem I started by writing it as prose first. Doing this first step enables me to focus first on the narrative: potential plot holes, and issues with causality: potential issues with the timeline of events. But trying to translate the prose into formal poetry I have difficulty writing. Is this a common problem with poets of the past and now that tried to write narrative poems? Do you have any solutions to this issue?

Looking for [opinion] s on works on deep grief

Hello all!!

I’m looking for some good bodies of work or collections of poems by authors that really talk a lot about grief. I am more specifically wanting to try to get into Mary Oliver.
Thanks for any and all thoughts/suggestions:)
