I am playing a randomizer nuzlocke on the 2.04 edition of Heart and Soul. I have a Pokemon that sets hail already (snover), and I found a Mime Jr. I wanted to evolve it into the Galarian Mr. Mime. When I checked the documentation, it says that it needs to level up with the move mimic and “in Galar”. Does anyone know what this means? I know there is a good chance it just does not work, but I wanted to ask here first.

You will have to get very late game to evolve into Galarian Mr. Mime, so it won't be available in the main game before E4 without trading with another player who has done so.

You will need to use an emulator which supports GBA Multiplayer functionality.
We've seen it working on original hardware and mGBA on PC and Mac.

The heart and soul docs say that a leaf stone is obtainable after getting 1st in the bug catching competition. I've only gotten sun stones and moon stones. Has anyone gotten a leaf stone?

You can make a savestate before you get to the rating and reset until you get the stone you want. Haven't gotten there in 2.0 release version, but I farmed all of the stones a lot in the betatest the week before and they all dropped.

Yes, Leaf Stone is a randomised reward from the Bug Catching competition.

Trying to get warp to work Advance Map for Sapphire rom in a cave I've added the warp and put in the warp no, map bank, and map, and put the warp on the other map, put the type as underground. It won't work in game. It's just a blocked wall at the tunnel part.

Your troubles started when you said you were using AdvanceMap... And then continued when you said you were using Sapphire, haha.
Have you made sure that the collisions are set up properly so the player can actually walk onto the tile?

If u mean in movement permissions, the cave entrance on the other map is set to c like the rest of cave maps. the opening facing up doesn't though. I copied that part from other part from other cave maps with the same cave entrance tile.

Also I loaded the map from another save that had the errors that happens for some reasons sometimes

Use HMA instead of AdvanceMap. It's far better, lets u do more and has less bugs
I'd also recommend hacking Emerald > Sapphire, and decomp > binary, as binary Hoenn has the least support available out of the Gen 3 games, making it the hardest to hack

Did anyone else get a nasty surprise in their first BBVW2 Redux playthrough that the Hoenn gym leaders are missable? I love everything else so far but this is a baffling restriction for a hack that has increased player freedom as one of its selling points.
Especially when there's no warning, and I don't recall them being missable in the original hack, although I played that years ago.
Now that I know, obviously I've fought Brawly and will fight every subsequent one, but the fact that I missed Roxanne because I assumed I could fight her after Cheren just makes it feel like there's a piece of my playthrough permanently missing, its permanently tainted. Might sound dramatic but that's the feeling it gives, which sucks because I'm genuinely excited to see everything new in Redux.

Is there any way to fix console's (dsi) freezing when running romhacks? More specifically I'm playing Pokemon Definitive Heart Gold using an R4i.
Besides that, is it a common issue? It's my first time playing a romhack

My Togetic doesn't want to evolve in Heart and Soul. I've evolved it multiple times during the day while holding a heart scale and at full friendship. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Evo's were changed in 2.0. It's written in the documentation and the in-game pokedex.
It's a Shiny stone. Someone even asked the same question like 3 lines down this same megathread lol

Is there a way to get Paldean Taurus in pokemon Heart and Soul? Unless I am missing a whole other region (I’m at 475 pokemon seen and caught), Paldean Taurus (#467 on the doc) should be the last mon I need, but it doesn’t look like there is any way to get it?:(

Randomizer mode most likely, the hack is Gen 1-3 with future evolutions unless you play on Randomizer mode

Is it possible to play blaze black 2 redux on my 3ds? I have black 2 downloaded to my modded 3DS and am aware that blaze black 2 redux is a patch to the game but am unaware of how, and if it is even possible, to download the patch to my 3DS. I know about blaze black and volt white, but I’m wondering if there’s any ROMs that are just the normal Gen 5 pokemon games (B&W as well as B&W2) with all the events added in.
Some google searching makes it seem like I can download the ROMs for the games and then specific event files or something to include, but I don’t really know anything about that and can’t find a whole lot. Any advice/help?

Hello, I have been playing Heart and Soul and everyone I attempt to enter Seafoam Islands caves, the screen just stays black. Is this a known issue?

Curious what this sub considers the "best" hack for each generation. It's completely subjective, but I would love to know what I should be playing per era.
- Red/Blue
- Yellow
- Gold/Silver
- Crystal
- Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
- FireRed/LeafGreen
- Diamond/Pearl
- etc.
Doesn't have to be the most popular. Just think of it like whatever you'd tell a friend is the best hack for that era. Bonus points if you say why.

It comes down to personal taste, but I'd take my picks from this list.
Keep in mind, hardly anyone hacks the non-definitive versions of the games. So there's almost no Ruby/Sapphire hacks, but loads of Emerald. Same with Diamond Pearl and Platinum etc

Personally I'd say:
- Red++
- Yellow Legacy
- Spaceworld '97
- Polished Crystal
- ROWE
- Radical Red, FR Extended, Pokemon Classic or Aesthetic Red depending on preference
As for DS upwards, whatever's in the list that analmintz linked

Gaia was the one that felt to me like an official game when I played it. Amethyst also gives me a bit of that feeling too.

Gaia is the go-to suggestion for a hack that feels like an official game. I believe Ambrosia and Grape fit decently too

You're stuck inside a Pokemon game for a year, rules to follow, which game do you choose?
NPC's only have their exact in game lines (they are voice) but if you walk up and they have one line, that's the only line they're going to say. You can say whatever you want but it just simulates pressing A while facing them. If Youngster Joey originally said I like shorts, he's going to say it every time.
You can restart the save file.
Nothing happens, that doesn't happen in the original game. It doesn't spring to life like you're walking through the anime. Scripted events happen, encounter percentage chances, it's like playing the game hack except you're in it. So if you're going crazy because it's your seventeenth playthrough and you have every line they're going to tell you memorized, you can't get any variety outside of what the game provided originally.
How long after "beating" the game until you start over, do you walk around the towns aimlessly, do you actually complete the dex, do you level every pokemon to 100, do you start breeding? How do you occupy your next year?
If you could choose a ROM hack, which would you choose as well?

I'd pick something with loads of pokemon. I'm sure I could fill time by catching the entire 1000+ dex. Take my time, taking in the sights of the pokemon world, passing through all the locations. I assume it's not like... pixelated? Like it's an imagined reality of the game, like Tron.
Anyways, maybe Radical Red or ROWE. RR since it's challenging enough I'd get to really learn and take time training, not breezing through level 5 ratattas all day.

Yes, it's not pixelated it's more early gen anime artstyles, but you can clearly feel the limitations of the base games in that you can't really have a conversation with NPC's you just simulate pressing A by talking and they spit out their normal line.
That's what I think the tough part would be is you're in the game but it's not really alive. So if there's a rom hack that adds dialog trees similar to Morrowind I think that would go a long way. But it would be funny you would end up memorizing all of their lines maybe having a daily route talking to certain ones.

I'm looking for a ROMhack that has:
- All generations of pokemon (preferably with regional variants)
- Modern combat features (physical special split, mega evolutions, z-moves, etc.)
- Can be randomized
- From a DS game or below (PC is a potato)
- Not a difficulty hack
- Doesn't change the story/map too much
I can only seem to find these features in difficulty hacks like Radical Red or Emerald Crest or full revamps like Unbound. Thank you
