First time ever. My in-game team did a lot better than I thought. They were semi-ev trained. My shiny Squirtle knockin out a Regirock will always be a special memory. Lol

From battles 1-50, I let Squirtle and Beedrill (aka the hasty bros cos they share the same nature) lead. After that, it was the Jynx and Tauros show. I've never used Jynx seriously, so I'm surprised how clutch she was. Not just in Mt. Battle, but when I fought the Elite Four, too. Not sure I like her enough to put her on my main roster, tho.

I picked Totodile as my prize mon and will be takin him to ZA for his own playthrough so he can go mega.

Too bad I didn't do this when Legends Arceus came out. Could've took the Cyndaquil from here and made it my starter in that game

Quite possibly the best wall I've had in all my years of playing Pokemon, and it doesn't even have Stockpile yet. Though I'm noticing that as trainers get more Shadow Pokemon to snag, my initial strategy of "Toxic one slot then focus the other" is becoming less viable over time, which is why Yawn is there as a possibility.

Rain Dance is going to be such an important move for dealing with Shadow Sky, but it also makes Thunder bypass accuracy, helps deal with Fire-types, and buffs Vaporeon's STAB. Throw in Thunder Wave and Light Screen, and I think it'll be a solid support Pokemon.

I don't have a 6th member decided, but it's almost definitely going to be a Flying type, considering half my team is weak to Ground. I'm thinking either Dodrio, Altaria, or Salamence would be good to have. There's also some moves here that I'm not sure I'll be holding onto long-term, like Vaporeon's Bite and Houndoom's Charm.

The Heart Gauge had like one third of the third bar left, then Gulpin went into Reverse Mode. Unfortunately the little guy took a hit, so I had to CALL on the next turn. Upon calling, his Heart Gauge now has one third of the second bar left and I'm scratching my head because that's way too fast for the Heart Gauge to be draining.

So are certain Shadow Pokemon easier to purify? Or is that the normal rate that all Heart Gauges drain?

So I bought a North American case for my gale of darkness disc and I seriously can't tell if it's fake or not because while everything about it tells me it's authentic, the only thing that gives a red flag is the all white part on the back of the cover artwork. I've seen different things about this with some saying that it's supposed to have the semi-gloss sheen on it while other sources have stated that Gale doesn't have it and is just a matte white because of the holographic effect on the front side(which mine has). Please help me answer this question for my own sanity, thank you and I appreciate you 🙏

With the news of back shutting down I remembered I had these somewhere and finally found them at my parents House. You can get shinies from these right? I might try some shiny hunting to transfer up. Will also transfer the old partners I had as well

Tl;dr I have spent the better part of an hour and a half of my life resetting for a pokemon at a poke spot.

I'm trying to complete as much "old" pokemon as possible before bank closes. This includes all forms, hard to get pokemon, underlevelled, in game traded pokemon, special event (where possible), etc.

So naturally, I boot up my childhood GameCube and pokemon XD. Finding out Gligar is at a poke spot, I save and restart my console to try and get both genders. I have spent an hour and a half resetting the single encounter, trying to get that dang symbol to change from red to blue. To the point where I just killed it and will wait for another one.

This brings up a good question on my end, how boned am I in my second playthrough where I am resetting for all of the other gender different pokemon that I didn't get before? Because the Gligar's level changed. So I know it was rolling new pokemon based on that. And I also know that if you know what you're doing with the RNG (which I do not) you can force it to be certain things. But I just hit the reset button and tried again.

So either I should go buy a lottery ticket for failing a 50/50 gender roll for almost 2 hours, OR, the gender is set when it spawns and not on encounter. With the only thing changing is the stats (IVs, nature, level, held item maybe).

Please tell me I'm not going to have to spend the next 6 months resetting an entire playthrough because LORD MAGNUS SHMENGLE at the end of the game cost me a 25/75 gender roll that I lost.

I know this is probably an overreaction but I just cannot get over how (potentially) unlucky I was with losing that so many times

Hey, I'm starting my first ever play through of Gale of Darkness & I was wondering if it's possible to keep resetting battles until I can get certain natures/genders of Pokémon that I'm interested in adding to the team?

Title. Can’t figure out how to enable cheats or otherwise get rare candies in the game. The game has a million encounters and much harder fights, so you kinda want to level everything up, but then 90% of the gameplay is mt battle grinding. If anyone knows how to get candies in the game (on mac) i’d appreciate it!

I’m using a nintendont version of pokemon XD, with a save file from gamerfaqs. The save file is on the memory card. I have an OEM gamecube/gameboy adapter. I have a gameboy sp. I have a copy of sapphire with the game beaten saved in the pokemon center. I try and load it and it doesn’t work. The gameboy loads like normal. Ive tried lead green with a file of over 100 pokemon caught and the national pokedex unlocked and nothing. Ive tried transferring to colosseum and it works perfectly fine. I dont know what to do or what im doing wrong.

Hey so I know the shadows are shiny locked. I have been trying to farm for a shiny trapinch but I don't have any codes does anyone have one that works? The only one I found is one that turns all pokemon, even ones I already own mass shiny temporarily and after I turn the code off their back to normal. It's confusing me as I all I want is 1 shiny trapinch.....I do have a code that claims to unlock the lock on shadows so I may want a shiny Gardevoir and spheel but the only one I really care about is trapinch.

Mostly just the title. I am playing Colosseum and XD lately, and I haven’t been able to get XD to work unless it’s in my actual gamecube. It’s my understanding that XD should work in the same wii as my other gamecube games, maybe it’s different though?

Our Gen. III tournament at Long Island Retro Gaming Expo was a success! 26 players (3 were disqualified) competed using the Journey Across America (JAA 2006) rules on the 20th anniversary of the 2006 Pokémon Video Game National Championships! All battles were played on XD or Colosseum.

We were fortunate to be joined by two competitors from the 2006 National Championships: Nick Harper (Miami champion) and Peter Jimenez (Nintendo World champion). It was great meeting them and meeting people who traveled from other states to play Pokémon in New York.

There have been a surge of retro Pokémon events worldwide, especially in New York, Ohio, and Japan. If you're interested in attending an event like this, be on the lookout in relevant Discord servers and on social media. Hello! Playing Pokemon XD and has been smooth sailing so far. Cut to entering Kranes Lab (I presume for the master ball) and he gets stuck in the staircase, fully softlocking the game into the cutscene. Anyone experience this? how can i progress this with him tweaking as such (no inputs, gamespeed no changes, animations and music still playing, no cheats enabled)
