Translation Translation check - short phrase

Upvotes

I'm currently putting together a teaching resource for primary school pupils about different scripts/orthographies around the world. The task has 18 translations of 'languages are amazing/incredible' in various languages which have differing scripts. I've checked the translations with multiple online translation tools, but I'm well aware that these do not always catch the nuanced points that native speakers can, hence why I wanted to post here for advice.

Would this be a suitable translation for Polish, or is there a better alternative?

Please help identify framed embroidered pictures. TIA.

These pictures (if you would actually call them pictures) are embroidered. I believe they came from my father's grandparents or even great grandparents. The figures in the photos are what looks to be raised plastic but I can't tell inside the frame and I didn't want to take them apart. Any insight on either of these would be greatest. Thanks so much

Translation Translate Polish marriage license

I believe this is the marriage license of Adalbertus Krzyzek and Josepha Robutka. Would anyone be able to interpret what the rest of it says? Adalbertus parents are Stanislaw and Marianna nee Krupa

Question What do these phrases mean?

I grew up in western Pennsylvania in a very Polish American community. This included going to Polish Festivals at the local church and listening to a Polka Party station every Sunday.

I don’t speak Polish and none of my living family members speak Polish, but we always say/hear a few phrases and I have no clue how to spell them or what they mean. The context in which we use these words are during Polka songs and celebrations. I always assumed they mean something like “Cheers!” but have never been able to find anything.

They could also just be Polish-American phrases or western Pennsylvania dialects(?) but would love to know if anyone else uses, hears, or knows the meaning/actual spelling.

Much thanks!!

Spelling them out how they are pronounced/what I hear using English spelling:

- woah buh nesh ka

- oh blesh ka

Co pamiętają nasze wsie? Dożynki w Kopisku

Współczesne dożynki nie są „mieszanką bez ładu”, lecz miejscem, w którym różne epoki dalej mówią jednym rytuałem.

Wieniec, msza, scena samorządowa, ludowy śpiew i melodia kojarząca się z akademią PRL nie muszą się wzajemnie unieważniać. Razem ujawniają, że wieś pamięta warstwowo: ciało pamięta pracę i żniwa, wspólnota — sąsiedztwo, Kościół — wdzięczność, a publiczna ceremonia — język dawnych systemów.

To nie podcast o „dziwnym festynie”. To opowieść o tym, że pieśń może nosić w sobie więcej historii niż jej wykonawcy chcieli pomieścić.

Request Polish customer service course/vocab?

So I’m Polish (born in Poland raised in US for 10 years now) and my Polish is broken right now but not to the point of “what the hell is she saying??”. I just got a job and my Spanish for customer service is pretty good, I can uphold a conversation and take orders but my Polish is wonky. Although I can understand more Polish than I can speak or write, I still wanna know if there are some basic phrases or stuff that I have to know.
So far I know greetings, money counting, coffee flavors what doughnuts they want and breakfast sandwiches, since that’s what my job requires.
To note, I speak Polish practically perfectly accent wise and I’m always more than happy to speak Polish, I’m just scared of messing up near a true native speaker lol.
So could anyone give some advice on what’s the best things to know? Im eager for this knowledge

Request Survey for Polish heritage speakers

Hi, my name is Karolina and I’m a student in Nice, France, currently working on my own research.

I’m looking for Polish heritage speakers (Polish people born and/or raised in a country other than Poland) who could take part in my survey! It takes around 15 minutes and consists of a self-paced reading task together with an acceptability judgment task.

I was wondering if there are people who could take this survey. It’s also important to open it on the computer or tablet as it doesn’t work on the phone. Here's the link: https://research.sc/participant/login/dynamic/1987E334-2853-403D-8811-A89B9EE46458

Thank you for help!

P.S Polish people that were born and live in Poland can take it as well! :)
