The gay frogs meme drives me crazy because Jones is correct, he just worded it badly. The chemicals were making the frogs change sex.

It was actually a local news story that he ran with, meaning it was indeed a thing. And in typical Jones fashion added flair and started hawking an expensive water purifier.
It turned into a meme but it really was a great example how his media empire worked (scoured for news stories that weren't really covered yet, threw his own bombastic spin onto it, and sold the solution)

I learned about it before it was a meme in my environmental science class in college.

Edited my comment to include it, but it's actually a use case that illustrates how Jones built his empire up. Find under - covered story, spin it up with bombast, sell stuff

Sounds pretty gay to me. Changing sex is like double, or triple gay.

He also made it into some big conspiracy instead of what it was, good old fashioned pollution

No, he wasn't correct. Because he wasn't trying to be correct, he was trying to be entertaining enough that people would listen to him long enough to hear his health supplement ads.
What he does is (either himself or an intern) is look through the news for things that are conspiracy related or could be made to be conspiracy related. Then adjusts them so they fit within his conspiracy world view (hard tell how much of that is him or a character he plays) and then he talks about it on his program.
And for each of his stories there will always be some level of truth to them because he does harvest a lot of ideas from legitimate news companies. But that doesn't make him accurate. That makes the original, undistorted source, accurate.

“People watch shows and play games I don’t like?!? There must be a big conspiracy behind this!”

Big corporations would never try new strategies to court people that don’t currently consume their products, it’s obviously the deep state pushing cultural Marxism behind the scenes.

Unrelated but thinking back on how i was a fan of steven universe and undertale and was into the indie show community in the early 2020s somewhat surprises me i didnt turn out as a super progressive communist

It's only once you start interacting with the community that the lefty influences really emerge. With Undertale, it's mostly just a story about being dumped in an unknown world, nothing really "woke" about it.
But then you go to the fandom and it'll be people gushing out like "omg is frisk a trans bipolar demisexual? Here's my 30 page thesis..."
Old media could be "progressive" while being subtle enough that all sides could watch with enjoyment.

This really depends on what you mean by lefty influences. Undertale is not exactly subtle about just how queer the cast is.

But dude didn’t you know that literally all art ever is left-wing AND is meant to make you chuds uncomfortable?

I mean, two of the main characters you meet are lesbian, and and don't forget about Mettatons whole thing. One of the reasons it was so loved was because they were able to write them without it becoming a caricature.

New media can still be (and often is) like that, there’s just more people getting bombarded with news/social media talking about how awful it is now.
That same old media would be perceived fully differently if released today.

Not true it was still woke shit and you just didn't know better.

Anyone who thinks Alex Jones was right about the gay frogs thing needs to watch this video.

He said the elites were poisoning the public with antrazine. He said it was a "gay bomb" That man is a conman. He lies nonstop. He is not nuts. The dude made a living telling everyone the elites are trying to turn you gay so you buy his testosterone pills and shit
