Hi all, using a throwaway account because I'm not a frequent reddit user but I'm not sure where else to ask. I finished my associate of arts degree in the summer semester, the 2nd 6 week session, and have been trying to get a hold of anyone up there who might have answers for about a month. I started a new job that's 8-5 monday through friday so going up there hasn't been an option, but I might take a day off to do so atp. I've tried emailing multiple advisors, calling, emailing graduation@polk, they either don't answer or simply tell me yes I have all the necessary credits and nothing else. Point of the post: I just spoke with an advisor now who said I won't receive the actual diploma until DECEMBER because it's rolled out with the fall graduation ones. Is there any way at all I can pick it up, email the company who prints them, anything? I really need that to start applying for colleges. It took me 5 years to finish this degree. I'm proud of my efforts and it's kinda heartbreaking I don't have anything physical to show for it.

Hey all. I’m looking to apply for next fall for the nursing transition program. Has anyone taken it and is there any advice? I have a 3.0 gpa and just got an 81 on the TEAS so I’m hoping that’s good enough. I’m also a 15 year paramedic. What is the workload and schedule like?

I can't find any posts anywhere about the GPA or the TEAS score of accepted students. Is anyone a current DMS student or knows any students who have been accepted? What were their GPA and test scores?

I am having a horrible time trying to get my student loans approved. I have submitted the loan request form and it was accepted, I have been to the financial aid office about 5 times in the past 3 weeks. I know the new bill that was passed has changed a lot but I feel like our school is really struggling to figure it out. Anyone else having trouble with their student loans going through? I have not seen anything about my loans anywhere on my portal. Any advice or information I may not have? Every time I go to financial aid they tell me something completely different.

This bus system is so confusing to me, and I want to make sure I understand it. Can anyone please explain to me how this works? And would it pick me up at the nearest bus stop and drop me off at Polk State? I've tried calling this place, and apparently they told me I need to be old or disabled to ride the bus. I'm so confused. I also tried booking a trip, and apparently I need a client ID to book a ride. They told me I have to wait a week to be approved. It's been a week already and nothing. I start school tomorrow, so any help would be appreciated.

Hello i am currently trying to get into spring 2027 i finished all my pre reqs at valencia college and plan to move them on polkstate uni 30credits prereqs for the asn and i also did 21 credits for pre reqs in bsn so it would just all be nursing would it be possible to apply to polk state college

Stats: 84% teas and 4.0gpa (asn pre reqs and bsn pre reqs or gen ed)

Does anyone know or have experience with how competitive the Radiography program is at PSC?

HCC and PHSC require a 4.0 gpa are highly competitive, but PSC says there’s only a 2.0 gpa req online so I’m curious to know if it’s competitive despite the lower gpa requirement?

Does anyone have any stats for acceptance? Like average GPA or TEAS scores? Or where I can even find that info?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if its me or of its everyone else too. I get alot of spam/phasing pretending it's someone from administration from Polk State , do you guys get these as well?

I plan to start my summer semester in person, and I realized it may be a problem because I have no reliable transportation. I've heard that Polk State offers Citrus Connection, which provides students with transportation. My question is how the route system works. Does it pick you up from anywhere, or would I have to walk to certain bus stops? Another question I have is, do they pick up students who have evening classes? This will be my first time taking the city bus so that any advice would be appreciated.

I’ve been told by some staff and some others that I can skateboard around campus (Winterhaven) but I’ve also been told I’m not allowed to by the sheriff but that’s when I was doing tricks. So does anyone know if I’m allowed to just ride around to get to class and back?

I should’ve asked the sheriff if I could just ride around but I forgot to and he was already riding off when I thought to ask.

I’ve also looked all over the rules and regulations on the website and found nothing at all telling me if I’m allowed to.

Hi! I am thinking of applying next year for the radiography program and willing to do all the classes needed to get in. Can anyone tell me about your experience in the program or in this college overall? I appreciate any tips too!

Is anyone else having this issue? I plan on calling the school tomorrow but I’m hella eager to graduate. I’m enrolled in my final class (doesn’t start until March 6 though). I thought today was the day we can start applying for graduation but when I log in, I get this error message. My degree choice hasn’t been updated since they switched from Passport to the new system; does that have anything to do with it?

Like I said I’ll call tomorrow but I’ve sent so many emails and my advisor said i should be all set to graduate this spring. Any and all advice is welcome!!!

So I finally got got all my Transcripts transferred covered over and when I go do a Degree Audit it said I don't have a major selected. Which is strange because when I enrolled i selected Respiratory Care as my major and now I can't see it. I sent an email to the registrar and they told me that I haven't been enrolled since 2021...to reenroll...which is crazy because I enrolled at the end of 2025, I have the emails. Anyways, I want to see if I need any other prerequisites cleared before actually applying for the actual program itself... ive been trying to enroll into this school since October of 25' but damn this school just doesn't take their students serious or what?"
