I lost my boy this week, Draco had a stroke we think and continued to go downhill from there. I haven't even been able to mourn him properly as shortly after I rushed him to the vet and had to let him go I ended up in the hospital myself for chronic appendicitis. I just want to be home with my grief and my Carebear and her sister who miss him too. Over 15k in debt for all his medical issues and I'd still do it all over again, even as I sit here wondering how I will pay off my feet for the next several weeks, whether this is foolish or not is not something I ever pondered, I don't believe I've loved anything more than that gentle sweet boy. Please give me some kind words and wisdom or a funny/sweet/cute pic of your pom it would help me a lot this week, I'm just drowning in pain right now, can't even work to distract me or leave this place. There's nothing worse than crying in a hospital bed I think.

Hi Pom friends,

I posted recently about Finn - he had his emergency IVDD neurosurgery yesterday to repair a herniated disc and relieve another compression causing him excruciating pain with potential for paralysis.

He is 10 years old, but the surgery went amazing - as smooth as it could have gone. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to find an amazing renowned surgeon who flies in to do these procedures (living outside the US presently on a island in Honduras).

They send video updates 2-3 times a day, as he has to stay in the hospital for a minimum of 10 days in a different city, and it is breaking my heart to see him scared and confused, plus the silence and absence is crushing right now (I live alone).

I thought I was prepared, but I'm not. I know I'm doing the right thing for his long-term quality of life, but really miss him. Attaching a video from today.

If you all could send us good thoughts/energy/prayers, or a kind word, it means a lot. I don't have many friends outside of family and I KNOW this sub gets it! Hug your babies tight and never take good health for granted!
