Work in town, was able to catch him and get him safely out of the truck's engine. He's pretty smaller though, maybe 8-9" without his tail. Big enough to let go in the woods at home?
Update: we took him home and released him in the forest behind our house.

Found this little bugger while walking around the University campus! Just picked him right up and he was chill.

I thought a cat was coming to eat the leftover canned food from mine...
Last night I put it out late and there was a little 'possum a couple of steps down from my porch, clearly waiting for the food to come out ❤️
Since they are so young, am I harming their learning to find food by feeding?

My boyfriend and I put food out for a few stray cats that come nearby. Over that time we have had a few opossums come occasionally over the past month or two, but we had this baby start coming by very often i’d say every other day for a few weeks and then suddenly he stopped. None of the other adult opossums would really stop routinely. It’s been about two or three weeks since we have seen the baby and we seen this full grown one pop up tonight. I think it may be the baby fully grown because the other opossums didn’t really know where the food was located. I cannot tell if this is the same opossum as our little baby, whom we got so attached to we named sesame. If anyone can tell by certain characteristics please let us know I’d be really happy to know he’s alright and growing up.

Hello all I’m an artist who focuses on nature themes and with the first few markets I’ve done I’ve gotten a few requests for stickers and I’m hoping yall can help me out.
Opossums have been a big request. And I hate just using Google pictures for reference. And the ones in my neighborhood are quite elusive and I haven’t gotten any decent photos.
Sooooo if anyone has any good opossum pics or know anywhere they tend to frequent I’d be eternally thankful and will give you a sticker with whatever I draw from it!

Originally had planned to give the food to a local stray cat, but I got a different type of neighborhood friend instead. Is the wet cat food safe for him? It's not a whole lot since it's pre-portioned for one serving. I'm also not sure if I should be worried about the bald spots, as I want the best for the little guy.

Although they’re wrongly deemed dirty and evil and even persecuted for it, we still see them as their true soft selves. They’re such sweet little creatures. They’re like a perfect mix of a cat and a mouse/rat. I just adore them. I really admire their perseverance and the way they stay true to themselves. I’ve always held “Stay Soft” close to my heart and I really feel possums do too. Don’t let the world make you hard or mean, stay soft. I’d love to know how you all feel about possums as well. Do you also feel a bond or kinship with them? Or with another animal? 💞
