This is when you can actually blame Obama for. His go-along to get along approach is what set up the lawlessness that we’re now seeing. Whether you want to have a beer with Bush or not, war crimes should’ve been addressed. Telecos should not have been give immunity for their Patriot Act shenanigans.
Obama also committed war crimes so that would be a bit hypocritical.
He should have slammed through single payer, and he should have been more aggressive with getting older justices off the court so he could replace them.
All the safeguards have failed. Congress, media, Constitution, Scotus. In just a few months.
So for former allies, this means one thing: not a trustable partner. Alliances mean nothing, trade agreements mean nothing. Trade poison.
How could any country trust you short to medium term?
We would need to see prosecutions, imprisonments, justice system reforms. There is no appeasement with autoritarian caricatural dumb dictatorship enablers.

Very true. Americans don't realize that the damage that 47 did is generational. They think that things will return to normal once he's gone. But, no dice.
It is not giving up to acknowledge the depth of the damage that has been done.
Those lives aren't undead or unabused once we get a Dem presidency. Those people and their families are forever scarred and changed. There are programs that will never come back because the window to start them is past; the number of things that need to align for any given program to get approval and kick off is staggering.
The lost lives I unfortunately have to agree.
But the programs? Fuck time windows.
They can start anything up they want, given the powers the court now allows a president. To approval I say pffffft.
