Wait, his staff too? And they have benefits and most of us (Americans) don't?

Yes, and it's his staff that I blame for all of this cause they want to make sure they get paid to the end of the year.

That staff is making $4 million a year. Plus benefits.

But there's a hard cap of 200k by law

"Law"

u/Har539 3h ago

It's spelt "Phshaw"

I think they mean 4 mil total

The word staff is plural. So, 40 people make a total of $4m. They have made $400k since he died.

when have they let something silly like law stop them from grifting?

Can’t blame Mitch (for once) cause he’s dead,

7

u/BonnaconCharioteer 4h ago

I mean, he picked his staff. So yeah, I feel comfortable still blaming him.

It's not like th GOP hasn't abused the laws or rules when it favors them before now or anything.

and this post is itself guerilla anti-universal-healthcare propaganda

we are supposed to be outraged that we're EVEN PAYING THEIR BENEFITS. when everyone, including republican congressional staffers, deserve a living wage and medical care.

this is how they operate - the capital class sneaks into your brain even when they're pretending to be on the same side as you, and gets you to think that good things are actually bad in this sort of sideways way. it's insidious.

You know damn well that has nothing to do with the intent of this post. You're using terms alllll wrong.

Why do you think they're so adamant that he's alive?

I mean it does make sense for his staff to get paid. They will still be working, and I doubt some secretaries and copy boys and whatever are responsible for whatever is going on with this coverup

u/Prestigious_Code6605 5h ago

I think his whole staff is complicit in the cover-up.

5

u/rest0re 5h ago

No. It doesn’t makes sense. He is unfit to serve his constituents and should have resigned well over a month ago

3

u/Prestigious_Code6605 5h ago

You mean a year ago when he started napping during sessions. I remember hearing his speech and he stumbled and slowed his words.

u/rest0re 3h ago

I suppose that falls into the “well over a month ago” camp. But yes, and probably like 10 years prior to that too. #agelimits

The staff needs to go to jail for the crime of covering this up.

Setting aside the cover up, yes when a senator dies the staff stays to answer emails and keep track of goings on and wait for the next senator to come in and take over. The constituents will still have concerns.

That said, those covering up whatevers going on should be handled.
