I feel like that line goes deeper than Trump. Looking at Kitty History (Wkuk) Bush was corrupt. So was his dad. Ties back to Isreal.
Idk man. Seems.... odd. Like this has been a long time coming and the orange man just happened to be the right pawn for the job.
Anyway. I hope it blows over. I'll see you at the voting booth for midterms and beyond.

I am hopeful that in the next few months, before he leaves office, a majority of American voters will understand how important it is to marginalize those hateful, greedy elements of our society and leave them seething on the fringe in future elections. May we never have another situation where all branched of our government are held by such dangerous people.

A study by PBS shows the people who didn't vote, would have voted for Trump. If they voted, he would have won by a larger margin.
This is America. America is Trump, Trump is America. I'm so sick of both.

6
2
u/Esoteric_Derailed 2h ago
Nah. Not just the GOP.
Some Democrats are playing the system for personal gain as well.
It's not just the voting system, but the entire legal system that needs more than just an update.
(And that's not just in the USA. As the first modern democracy much of your design was copied by many other countries, and while that might have been perfectly good at the time, we can all see that our societal operating system is serious need of an upgrade.)
2
u/VirtualPercentage737 1h ago
We have made the Federal government way too powerful. Something like 1-4 - 1/3rd of the national income gets filtered through one city. People line up at the trough to get a taste. Then they lobby to get a piece, or to get regulation cut their way or against their competitor.
The founding fathers knew this could be an issue and empowered the states to prevent federalism. The parties don't matter.
We would be better off getting the feds out of everything except defense and a national court. Throw all social programs down to the states. States can't print money and have to balance budgets. It is also harder to lobby 50 individual states. Undoubtably it will still go one, but it would certainly deter it.
1
u/Esoteric_Derailed 1h ago
IDK. You could be right. Or maybe not? I'm in Europe. Not a big fan of the EU, but I do believe that we stand stronger together. You know the saying, 'divide and conquer'. Individual states will not have the same kind of power as large corporations / some individual billionaires.
It might even be easier to sway local/state politicians than federal ones. (edit: but yes, lobbyists will first focus on the highest political level)
IDK how, but money (edit: commercial lobbying?) needs to be taken out of the political power equation.

2
u/rampart1012 2h ago
You do realize that the GOP is the Blue and the Dems are they Greys in that war, yes? I am not saying the political parties haven't been a problem since... John Adams. The REAL culprit in USAs "problems" are the 9 old men sitting on a bench. (yes there's now women but the tally is like 99% men in the total count). Those 9 people have held the USA back Soooooo many times. 9was fine when population was like a million. We've grown a bit since then. More Justices for more justice.
1
u/Sir_SquirrelNutz 1h ago
1
u/rampart1012 1h ago
Did you gloss over that I don't like either party? Did the dems stop taking corporate money when they shifted their policies to be more inclusive and betray the Dixiecrats? No. Did the GOP become "better" when they enacted the Southern Strategy? Hell no. My point was that BOTH parties are corrupt. Two parties is a HUGE problem and a parliamentary system would go a long way to helping USA fix itself.
1
u/Sir_SquirrelNutz 1h ago
Why? You openwd at the BS colors of uniform ties to party was enough...get informed and stop the bs.
1
u/SoloRemy 1h ago
Thatās why I wrote āpeopleā not āpartiesā. Team sports time is long over. The US has a significant bloc of voters that will support some pretty unsupportable stuff.
The Supremes are a problem, yes. But you had a significant bloc of people elect Mitch McConnell who held up the vote to GET that majority. And they were super cool with him doing it too.
The root problem is that bloc. They support Fox News, institutionalized racism and destroying any social support that they, themselves, donāt need.
George Carlin said, āWhere do people think these politicians come from? They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do, folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces: garbage in, garbage out.ā
I would not agree with his speaking in absolutes like that but his general premise of people supporting this nonsense over and over again is legitimate1
u/Sir_SquirrelNutz 2h ago
Yeah, you're right. But trickle down is the precursor to the wealth gap today.

Whether Trump dies or leaves office, America remains diminished in the eyes of the world. If your people can elect Bozo the Evil Clown TWICE, the world needs to find a way to avoid America as much as possible. America will not recover from this debacle. The world is creating interconnects that leave America out.
Go bomb an ocean. Go bomb yourself. Preferably bomb the evil regime of Israel. Just stop bombing and threatening the rest of us.

Trump is where he is because certain very wealthy people saw, in 2015, someone who is so amoral, and obsessed with acquiring everyone else's wealth for his own, that they could give him the riches he wanted in exchange for enormous back-room power. Once Trump is gone, those people still exist. They will need to be rooted out and destroyed, one way or another.

Unfortunately he is not the cause of the corruption merely the result and the fact he's openly stealing while destroying the white house and Constitution, severing NATO and all of our allies doesn't give me much hope going forward even without him at the helm. There needs to be a lot of trials and everyone held accountable for their part either passive or aggressively in helping him accomplish what he has because the safties definitely failed. We also need to rework the supreme court and changes implemented immediately with prison terms handed out then we can start working through the politicians, I would say both parties but they've been working as one for a long time. That's the only way corruption could reach this level.

Trump leaving office won't trigger everything going back to normal. There will be a lot of damage to undo and, let's face it, even if the Dems control both the legislative and executive branches, it will take decades. Another self-serving moron will come into office during that time and either slow down the repairs or redo some of the damage.
