One (1) last post. I’ve been President Curtis obsessed I even made a server LOL

I'm not looking for speculation, I can make stuff up on my own. I am curious whether there's been any indication of how the show is doing ratings-wise or audience-wise?

I'm watching episodes at least twice because I find there's always dialogue I'm not catching and the episodes are funny enough that I enjoy a rewatch. But my gut is telling me it's not connecting with "general audiences" the way R&M would. So I have wondered how its ratings are (and its piracy uptake, which can be a measure of how much attention it's getting and whether it's making a cultural impact)​​.

I'm pessimistic about it getting a S3 although its S2 pickup signals to me that S1 is strong and S2 gives it room to grow and/or course-correct. But my pessimism might be from a lifetime of watching African-American supporting characters and actors not winning over mainstream audiences (The Cleveland Show, The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore).

Anyone have any legit word?

That statue of liberty robot from R&M S5E6 looks very similar in design to the french armour in the episode "Purchase".

The character design looks like an older gentleman but the voice actor sounds like a bubbly young woman. Just thought it was an interesting detail.

Does this show remind you of Mike Tyson mysteries? Anyway, if you had a mystery you needed solving who would you call? (PS I know the president and his team don’t technically solve mysteries, but they kind of do.)

I have 2 Theories here:

1. O'Doyle is the one who shot Banks and felt bad about it
2. Banks was something more from the past, but due to the bullet wound, she just doesn't remember. From the picture it shows she was in this state for 10 years (Because if it was 1 year, wouldnt the 0 be before the 1? Also it could have been 10 tens or months, whose to say) so it is possible for them to erase her memories and for the government to create an entirely new person. She doesn't have access to all protocols, and maybe there is a deeper reasoning for that.

Like how her personality switched up so quick was interesting, was that her old self resurfacing?

Because I am sitting here wonder, why does O'Doyle have this picture of Banks in his weapon room? I find that odd that he has a copy, its clear that they haven't met before, as the show is stating (AKA, As far as we the audience knows), but maybe that is a lie. And I know O'Doyle can't lie but he doesn't have to tell the truth automatically unless asked, so there is loophole for him to keep secrets.

So what's going on there? Also he made special bullets for her, I understand that she is dangerous when she switches all protocols off, but bullets would work just as well since she's flesh.

There is something here, and I cannot wait for the big reveal.

I love these dorks, utterly fantastic character development. I liked Inside Job but felt Reagan was too far of a copy of Rick. A lot of the personality quirks of being a haughty genius just do not play as well for a chick (I am one btw). Whereas Banks is striking that perfect balance. There’s still the haughty behavior but it’s softened with a believable personality. And O’Doyle is just hilarious. From the first episode I wanted them to have a romantic dynamic and now with the camp David O’Doyle plot where he’s stressed that banks is worried about Trent because he might be hotter than him? As President Curtis has already been greenlit for season two I hope we can see
these two actually developing into something.

Side note, whoever is in the writers rooms is clearly suffering from a mommy fetish. Why are the words mom and orgasm in the same sentence in this show? Specifically O’Doyle. Rick and Morty has the infamous fortune cookie episode which I still think is still the craziest thing I’ve ever watched. I know writers enjoy barely containing their fetish so I guess I’m more curious why all the mommy stuff? Recession indicator?
