⚠️ MOD NEWS ⚠️ Hey LiArs! Want more Memes and Games? Head to r/Pretty_Little_Liars for that :) and as a general reminder, daily games are not allowed here!

r/Pretty_Little_Liars is a great place to share memes, do some games, share Tiktoks. Check it out for more.

And as a reminder Rule #5, as described in the 'About' section of our subreddit:

r/PrettyLittleLiars, like other TV Show subs, fell victim to Daily Game spam. After complaints of the spam, the low quality, and karma farming concerns, the Mod Team has decided they are not allowed here. If you have a Game, make it ONE post only. If it is going to be longer you must post it on r/Pretty_Little_Liars. Initial post and results posted on r/Pretty_Little_Liars can be crossposted here for more engagement.

Don't know what a daily game is? Here are some examples.

Going through each character having people comment worst/best/smartest/stupidest thing each of them did

Daily posts doing "who's most likely to"

Individual posts for each square of a character alignment chart

If you're going to do any of those above they must be limited to one post!

⚠️ MOD NEWS ⚠️ OUR NUMBER ONE RULE

Are you a new member? You should check out our number one rule.

RULE #1 - Follow Basic Reddiquette

We do not condone the attacking or mistreatment of users— this includes DMs!

Aggressive fighting, name-calling, hate speech, or repeated targeting of a user is not permissible. Disagreement must be civil and respectful. The Mod Team deems passive aggressive remarks and attitude as instigating. Therefore, it falls under basic reddiquette.

Name-calling of characters or actors does not result in content removal unless attacking their appearance.

Overall, any rudeness will be taken down. You can call us sensitive, but our lack of leniency on this rule is why so many people consider this sub a positive environment compared to others. You are allowed to have disagreements in discussions, but once it gets hostile the comments will be shut down.

This rule aims to maintain a respectful and pleasant environment by discouraging personal attacks, insults, or inflammatory comments. Instead, users are encouraged to engage in discussions calmly and respectfully, focusing on constructive dialogue rather than arguments or conflicts.

Anything fighting should be reported immediately as it breaks "Rule #1 - Basic Reddiquette". When reporting, click "Breaks r/PrettyLittleLiars rules" then click the first option, rule number one.

...

TL;DR? Don't be an asshole

It’s September 1st and it’s Tuesday so I’m bringing back the Pretty Little Liars Tuesday that ABC Family was doing to relive my childhood but I go on Disney Plus and I’m reminded of this weird description for the pilot they have up lol

Trying to remember if the show creators actually wanted to do something along these lines

Show Discussion On PLL Day, I decided to look back at some of the very first reviews of the show and… this one is genuinely the harshest thing I’ve ever read 😭

jeez i know they’re looking at it objectively but could they have been any meaner 😭 the way most of these reviews went on to be completely flipped is insane. no wonder troian talked about the imposter syndrome and insecurity she had when she first got cast as spencer, because imagine getting cast on a brand new show and then seeing reviews like this ,,, the fact that they judged her the harshest when she went on to be considered one of the best actresses on the show is so ironic. i also think they did a little too much with shay 😭 i get on her sometimes too, but people really failed to realize this was one of her first acting jobs. what do you guys think about the reviews though? do you agree or disagree with any of them?

Show Discussion Some S7 Moments That Sent Me Into Orbit (spoilers ahead!)

I’m an OG watcher, and have seen s1 - s6 (first half) many times. I never watched s7. It just never caught on for me.

I finally finished it, and I gotta say…not bad! I mean, “bad”, yes, but in like a fun way lol.

Anyways, here are just a few of the many moments from the time jump onwards that cracked me up I rewound them to experience again. Enjoy!

1) This line from Jenna
2) Headless Noel (I love how falling on that old axe sliced right through his bone
3) Not funny, just caught a typo in the last sentence (“here” instead of “her”)
4) Hanna going full Dexter on a lifelike doll of herself
5) I caught a crew member’s reflection in the iPad screen behind aria
6) The cursed fake Aria
7) Dream-sequence Ezra absolutely beat to sh*t
8) Beard Toby
9) British Evil Twin Spencer (“eLLo SiStAh!”)
10) This horrid wig on Ali

Question❔ If you made PLL, what would your Top 5 plot points be?

Thumbnail

I’ll start!

  1. I’d give Alison a mentally ill twin like in the books.
Peter would be their father, having had an affair with Jessica, making Melissa and Spencer their half sisters. Jason would be Kenneth’s son.

  2. The N.A.T club would be an integral storyline to the plot, with Jason, Ian and Garrett being predators.

  3. Ezra would be Alison’s yes-man (because she’d be the 2nd A in my version) and would be in love with her; he would eventually be caught and sent to prison, taking the fall for Ali while she gets away.

  4. CeCe would also be Alison’s helper but Alison and her would actually be a duo and like each other like true sisters. CeCe would have mental health issues and would die the a house fire (like the Liars believed Alison did in the 8th PLL book)

  5. Mona’s death would be the driving cause for the last two seasons of my show, the timeline being 8 years in the future. She would be sucked back into the game, killed by Ali to lure the others back home.

We often talk about the plot holes, questionable writing and annoying storylines, but for PLL Day, let’s give the writers some credit 🤓

What’s one storyline they executed really well and that you genuinely enjoyed?

Who’s with me?

I always re-start PLL on the 1st September every year with cosy socks, big mug of coffee, fairy lights. Candles lit. Perfect show to welcome Fall 🍂

How long does it take you to get through the whole series?

Character Discussion Emily is underrated!!

I feel like people always find Emily the ‘boring’ one or the one who has no character growth throughout the show. I’m on my MILLIONTH rewatch (i genuinely have lost count at this point) and am on the episode with the father daughter dance. She is genuinely so sweet and genuine. I don’t see how people find that boring. She just doesn’t do any wrong really, i think that’s why people find her boring.
The whole narrative that she went through nothing and that A was easy on her is stupid too.
Did everyone forget she literally got drugged with a steroid by A and got stomach ulcers?? Maya??? Being IMPREGNATED unwillingly?? like wow. imo she was put through the most by far.
Maybe i’m wrong and this isn’t as big of a narrative as I thought- but i’ve seen too many comments made about Emily’s character being pointless!

Question❔ Spencer’s Adderall Addiction

So Spencer’s Adderall addiction is something I can never shake from the show. Does anyone feel it was immensely over dramatic? I am definitely open to being wrong but would want to understand why it wasn’t or was overly dramatic from other perspectives.

It seemed like right away she was regularly taking extra which I don’t buy in to that much because after just starting up the medication I would think she’d already be plenty wired and not adjusted to the medication at all so unless she had a particularly low response I think it would already be pretty strong for her not something she’d so suddenly be taking extra doses of. (I know some people may be more prone to do that though and Spencer does show some addictive traits for sure.

But would she really be waking up at places she didn’t go to bed at? That’s gotta be pretty rare.

Her dream in that black and white episode was also pretty bizarre.

They wrote her to be so intense during that time which I also find hard to believe.

How long was she even taking them for when she went back on them also? (since we know she had been on them that summer Allison went missing) I could be wrong but it seems she wasn’t on them long at all for her to have gone to rehab and had what seemed like such strong withdrawal after like she seemed exhausted, but your brain and natural baseline from my understanding would not change that quickly in the short span she was even taking the medication? I could be wrong.

& since she wasn’t on them very long at all as far as I can tell wouldn’t her not getting enough sleep not be such a huge factor making her act so intense and erratic as she wouldn’t have been sleep deprived for that long? She was sleeping some.

Can anyone offer their opinion on the whole thing and how realistic or unrealistic they think it was? I just think it was really overdramatic for the plot but I’ve always wondered how realistic it could have actually been or if that’s also still extremely unlikely.

Question❔ What storylines would pll had done had it been on a different more adult network like the OC

I saw a comment earlier today that said they gave spencer an adderal addiction and not a coke one bc it’s abc family. And it got me thinking. They toned down a lot of the early seasons bc it’s on a family friendly network. Now I started to wonder what kind of storylines would they have done had it been on a more adult network.? Like OC or gossip girl (same network I think not sure) or OTh. Would there have been a teen pregnancy storyline , a car crash? A SEVERE drug addiction like Coke instead of adderal, maybe A could be more Gory. Idk. What kind of storylines do you think would have been created had this show not been on a family friendly network ?
