I know Bob is a telling of a true story so maybe it is too insensitive but I thought the matter-of-fact vibe I got from the lyrics reminded me of this meme template.
the song feels like it's supposed to communicate a sort of dead inside reaction instead of any significant grief, just pure grey depression. I get a similar feeling from the resigned acceptance of something awful that you see in this meme.

awh man i remember bob.. he once shaved his head and put his Doctor Martens on. He always drew such wonderous pictures in the apartment where he lived!
