SEASON 1 SPOILER! "I'm breaking out"
Okay so just finished watching the S1 ep 20 and ohh mannnn.
So you just show the pope a frickin' dagger, tell him "I'm breaking out" , and that you want your brother to break with you and just expect the pope to let you do it casually?!!
Ohhhh holyyy shii what's it turning to man i really can't express 😭

That's true. Given Pope's character, I feel like he would've told the officers they had runners rather than just doing exactly what Scofield told him to. Especially since he knew Michael so well and knew he wasn't the type to actually kill anyone. Pope would've realized Michael was bluffing with the shank and raised the alarm

Exactly man like he even had a chance to alert the guard when he called to inform about Bellick's truck being present at the lot. But instead, he just goes on to say what scofield wanted him to say. Like can't really digest that happened, the way they built the pope's character throughout the season

while I agree 100%, if someone is in that situation and you have a knife to your neck, would you gamble ? schofield also says “i don’t think you know how bad i want to get my brother out of here” hinting that he’s willing to do whatever it takes
