Never knew this was a thing, very cool! I can see how you could do some cool stuff with it as a EE.

My expertise is centered around mega scale plant DCS, so every icon was essentially a DCS vendor system or an IEC-61131-3 language.

Haha well PlantPax is certainly a thing but Rockwell are the small time player in DCS. They are UBIQUITOUS for everything PLC though, and I have seen people chain control logix PLCs together and make a DCS without PlantPax, and that implementation looked better the PlantPax? Anyway.

Neither are as good as something like DeltaV, but they are very competitive on price and over time will improve and Emerson will have a tougher and tougher time justifying the premium, as will all DCS OEMs.
