Every time someone posts from Utah, everyone asks where they went. Here are the two areas I’ve found the best gold. They are: The Henry Mountains up crescent creek. There is an old log cabin up the creek. Just west of that up the creek bed there is a gravel and cobbles layer above a clay hard pack layer like 2-4ft above the creek bottom. Good gold but hard to get enough water to run it in a sluice or high banker. The other area I know of is Amasa Valley east of Notch Peak. This is where the prospector clubs have claims. Both areas are desert and water is scarce but they have gold. I’ve heard that there are placers in the La Sals but I haven’t investigated. About 2 hours west of Notch Peak is Oceola in Nevada which does have good gold but no water and mostly claimed up. These are the only places I’ve found a coupe grams but with a lot of work. Always fun to get out and explore though. Good luck guys. Also these places are very far from any services or towns so plan accordingly. Hope this helps.

Haven't found much in the LaSals, but you can get alright flour from the beaches along the San Juan near bluff, as it's all flood gold. If you like flour, that is

This has gotta be from the west desert, right? I’m lucky if I get enough to make the scale move .01 on most of my excursions here in northern Utah. Congrats!

Ive been busting my ass trying to make Utah work. Like going out every single weekend type of thing all year. I have .00001% of what you got. I need help brother.
