Really provo?

I came here from southern California over 5 years ago to seek a better life, and all I have seen is people in positions of "power" trying to get away with what ever they can. Which they are because it seems there is no oversight for any of them, and if there is those people ( who are supposed to oversee) pretend like they don't see anything, or just ignore, or just give people the run around until you have no other choice but to move on.

No offense but this is the impression I have gotten over and over again!

Well for one, they got rid of the budget for disabled people and for daycare, food stamps, subsidies, but they built a gigantic baseball field for a millionaire that we don’t profit from. They don’t let us vote or they change the bill after it was already voted on because “the church didn’t like it” look up prop 2, medical marijuana.

But they are building a 16 acre labor camp for the mental ill, and homeless though, just like the righteous Germans used to do in the 1940s!

How about defrauding the federal government, welfare fraud, Sherriff officer exposing himself to a teenager, lying, manipulating police officers, along with court judges doing exactly the same, while only using the law for profit, while acting like the law doesn't apply to them, cops being pulled over drunk, but only being reassigned, instead of thrown in jail like everyone else would be. Forcing mental health patients to work in labor camp in Salt Lake City.
To name a few that I got from local KSL news

There’s no labor camp in Salt Lake. Plan was scrapped…. They tried tho which is really bad. I guess the fact that they even tried pretty much validates the OP point huh?

Yeah super weird “hate Provo with me guys” post. CA has nice weather, but is like the worst run state in the country—interesting comparison.

Do as they say, not as they do. Corruption from the top. Case in point- do a quick search on how many companies moved in to Utah in the past five years vs how many left. How many new build low income apartments have been publicly announced by state leaders and funding acquired in the last ten years vs how many projects have been completed.
Funding for homeless services received in the past 5 years. Homeless numbers up or down?
I can think of so many issues that are continually swept under the rug but are life threatening to everyone living here. Did you know that our public water system was hacked and was taken over by an enemy country for some time last week?

While police make up reasons to harass and ticket, jail, or any other way to keep them homeless they can! But when called on it, they pretend they don't know exactly what they are doing! Wonderful! That's exactly what it says in the Bible to treat people like that!

He’s from California. That’s the complaint we hear from ALOT of transplants because California is nearly unlivable in some parts and the politicians running the state are mentally ill so people are leaving and coming here. My question is, how long before Utah starts feeling like California? Seems inevitable at this point.

Please keep pointing out the corruption! Sooner or later maybe Utah folks will get off their lazy fat asses and do something about it instead of voting for those the Mormon church asks them to vote for. Only the simple minded would come back with “if you don’t like it here than move back to California “.

Yeah, the politicians here in the valley are something else. Backstabbing, scandals, etc.

My favorite is to listen to all the scandals the local police have. Springville police are particularly interesting to hear about
