I started doing the Lo & Behold Scrap Bash to keep me busy after being laid off. I got to the part where we sorted our scraps by color, found I had an absolute shedload of orange and pink and woopsies they go really nice together, so I abandoned the rest of the weeks and got straight to piecing. I did end up having to buy a few small additions to balance everything out. I started by picking an orange/pink, then doing one bear paw, then one hovering hawk, and alternating which color was the background color (so if my bear paw had an orange background, the hawk would have a pink background). The bear paws were a great venue for fussy cutting that 1in square in the center. I also used this as my first solo longarm attempt, which was _mostly_ successful. Not great, but I'm sure there have been worse quilts. I learned a lot! I've been binding like it's my job in order to finish in time to submit to my local quilt show. Here's hoping the committee likes my nice subdued colorway.

This showed up in my tik tok feed and I immediately clocked what pattern she used, Abby Maeds Peter pumpkin tote. People were begging her for a pattern, so instead of linking the pattern she used, (I have proof of which she used on slide 3), she said she is going to write a pattern and offer a tutorial. What is wrong with people? She jumped on the opportunity to make money off of another woman’s work, and not even give the original designer credit. I called her out, but she blocked me after I showed up with screenshots of her past posts referencing the designers pattern. She said she’s never heard of that person or seen their work 🙄. She literally posted their picture for inspo (in screenshot page 2). Then screen shot 3 shows she used the exact pattern to make her samples as I accused her of. As of a couple hours ago, she is offering a quilt pattern to make them, from outward appearance it looks AI generated. Why do I care so much? Not only do we have to worry about AI or theft abroad, now it’s happening by others in our own back yard. I hate to see a thief profit.

Thank you so much. A lovely long arm quilter named Pat backed and quilted this based on an intricate pattern. My grandma had done the front stitching by hand, but didn't finish it before she passed. I'm so glad it's not longer sitting unfinished in a box!

Is there anything that looks off and should be moved or replaced? I tried to balance the darks/lights using the black and white photo filter, but I keep second guessing myself.

I rarely look at the million emails I get about pattern releases and sales but for some reason I did today and OMFG you guys, I can't take my eyes off this mockup.

I bought the pattern and it looks great with comprehensive instructions for each block and overall finishing. There's a fabric calculator spreadsheet if you want to mix and match your own layout.

The only thing that be a downside is it looks like each FPP is in a slightly different format so going from one to another may take a minute to adjust. It shouldn't be an issue, though, because everything is clearly labeled.

I'm in no way associated with this sampler but wanted to share because I know I'm not the only "Halloween is year round" quilter. I think there's an associated QAL but I'm too impatient, when my fabrics arrive, it's showtime.

They’re all just piled on top of each other, so difficult to parse in this context.. but yeah. This is my kinship project. I’m about 60 blocks in out of 100.

I would do things differently next time around. Mostly just the fabric collection choice. I do like it, but i think it would benefit from some other fabrics…

Suppose I could add, but I probably won’t. Committed hard to the collection for this quilt and I’m gonna see it through. If I end up disliking it, I’ll give it to my uncle whose favorite color is blue. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I finished the quilt top on a day that was 95+ outside and now two days later it’s 72!

I am struggling with planning how to quilt this - I’ve never made a quilt before that has “pictures” as the design. I’m comfortable with basic FMQ and would prefer that over straight line quilting for this specific quilt. Should I do a special design for each icon? Or all over meander and something unique on the borders? I’d love to hear how you would handle this!

Pattern is “Hello Autumn” by Nancy Halvorsen, I bought the kit and backing from Shabby Fabrics to make my life easier. The kit actually has a robust amount of leftovers so I can make a few matching throw pillows or table runner.

I finally finished this quilt top and will be getting ready to baste her this weekend. I was thinking of using dense free motion quilting in the darkest shadow areas but that would leave a lot of space unquilted. Please send me your ideas!! TIA 🩷

Hi, I am looking for a quilt that had this same message for my sister named Bethany. It was a yellow and blue quilt made by our grandma that she lost when her ex-girlfriend took it from her years ago when we were teens. If anyone has seen it at a thrift store or something please message me! It's been a long time since then and they still think about it. They were only 6 when they got it as a Christmas gift. I want to give it back to its rightful owner who it was made for with love. Edit to add Bethany's memory of it "It said the same thing but with my name on it. It was like rectangular strips instead of squares. Blue was the main color with water and shapes." The back of it was all blue. A picture of mine is in the comments if needed. They're the same size, enough to cover a twin bed.

Looking for opinions on the layout! I’m going for an autumnal theme. Nothing’s sewn together yet. I went for a slightly random order because I thought it would look better but I’m open to changing if it doesn’t look good. The pattern I’m very loosely following has a border but I’m unsure if I want to add one, thoughts? I’d also love suggestions for the backing and binding I should use!

I just finished this quilt and I’m really happy with it. I’m a beginner and this is the largest and most complicated quilt I’ve made so far. I messed up the pattern a little, but I’m not too upset about it. I think it turned out cute anyway.

While on the hunt for a small curio for my latest obsession of Uranium Glass, I stumbled onto this quilting frame unopened, with pieces of gift wrap still stuck to it, circa 1990-1994, shipped COD directly to So Fro, with their price tag still on it for $79.99. I got it for $25.

What’s really interesting, is thrift store I got it at is in the same strip center as the old So Fro, sandwiched between a Joann location on the opposite end. Obviously they lived nearby but still. I’m glad I could rescue it and give it a good home.

Hi! First time poster and brand new quilter!

My assistant and I (dog tax provided) were wondering if anyone had any feedback on the layout before I actually start putting this thing together. It’s going to be a very straightforward patchwork project for a longtime friend who loves everything bees and pollinators.

Planning on border to be yellow with black edges or vice versa, unsure yet (colors off to the side) and the backing fabric is a cream colored honeycomb.

I inherited a quilt top that was hand sewn by my great grandmother. I’d like to finish it. It has some darkening in places, I’m not sure if the background is supposed to be cream or white. I’m leaning towards cream as there is actual white in the patterns. How do I safely clean it? It also has scalloped edges so I think I’d need to add a piece of fabric to have straight edges to make it easier for binding. Any advice would be appreciated.
