This showed up in my tik tok feed and I immediately clocked what pattern she used, Abby Maeds Peter pumpkin tote. People were begging her for a pattern, so instead of linking the pattern she used, (I have proof of which she used on slide 3), she said she is going to write a pattern and offer a tutorial. What is wrong with people? She jumped on the opportunity to make money off of another woman’s work, and not even give the original designer credit. I called her out, but she blocked me after I showed up with screenshots of her past posts referencing the designers pattern. She said she’s never heard of that person or seen their work 🙄. She literally posted their picture for inspo (in screenshot page 2). Then screen shot 3 shows she used the exact pattern to make her samples as I accused her of. As of a couple hours ago, she is offering a quilt pattern to make them, from outward appearance it looks AI generated. Why do I care so much? Not only do we have to worry about AI or theft abroad, now it’s happening by others in our own back yard. I hate to see a thief profit.

Thank you so much. A lovely long arm quilter named Pat backed and quilted this based on an intricate pattern. My grandma had done the front stitching by hand, but didn't finish it before she passed. I'm so glad it's not longer sitting unfinished in a box!

I finished the quilt top on a day that was 95+ outside and now two days later it’s 72!

I am struggling with planning how to quilt this - I’ve never made a quilt before that has “pictures” as the design. I’m comfortable with basic FMQ and would prefer that over straight line quilting for this specific quilt. Should I do a special design for each icon? Or all over meander and something unique on the borders? I’d love to hear how you would handle this!

Pattern is “Hello Autumn” by Nancy Halvorsen, I bought the kit and backing from Shabby Fabrics to make my life easier. The kit actually has a robust amount of leftovers so I can make a few matching throw pillows or table runner.

Looking for opinions on the layout! I’m going for an autumnal theme. Nothing’s sewn together yet. I went for a slightly random order because I thought it would look better but I’m open to changing if it doesn’t look good. The pattern I’m very loosely following has a border but I’m unsure if I want to add one, thoughts? I’d also love suggestions for the backing and binding I should use!

I rarely look at the million emails I get about pattern releases and sales but for some reason I did today and OMFG you guys, I can't take my eyes off this mockup.

I bought the pattern and it looks great with comprehensive instructions for each block and overall finishing. There's a fabric calculator spreadsheet if you want to mix and match your own layout.

The only thing that be a downside is it looks like each FPP is in a slightly different format so going from one to another may take a minute to adjust. It shouldn't be an issue, though, because everything is clearly labeled.

I'm in no way associated with this sampler but wanted to share because I know I'm not the only "Halloween is year round" quilter. I think there's an associated QAL but I'm too impatient, when my fabrics arrive, it's showtime.

Is there anything that looks off and should be moved or replaced? I tried to balance the darks/lights using the black and white photo filter, but I keep second guessing myself.

I inherited a quilt top that was hand sewn by my great grandmother. I’d like to finish it. It has some darkening in places, I’m not sure if the background is supposed to be cream or white. I’m leaning towards cream as there is actual white in the patterns. How do I safely clean it? It also has scalloped edges so I think I’d need to add a piece of fabric to have straight edges to make it easier for binding. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi! First time poster and brand new quilter!

My assistant and I (dog tax provided) were wondering if anyone had any feedback on the layout before I actually start putting this thing together. It’s going to be a very straightforward patchwork project for a longtime friend who loves everything bees and pollinators.

Planning on border to be yellow with black edges or vice versa, unsure yet (colors off to the side) and the backing fabric is a cream colored honeycomb.

Yesterday (I think) about works in progress and I didn’t have a chance to respond then, but here is mine! I’m at the block trimming phase for my floral Irish chain ( the second, for my mother) and then I shall be able to put the top together. I also made a scrappy log cabin accent pillow cover to go along with the quilt set.

Please share pics of the hardworking supervisors making sure every stitch is perfect and points line up correctly. They generously donate fur to each and every project.

Since the question was asked on my trimming post, and Reddit isn’t being picture comment friendly for me today, here is the answer.
This is an after and before pic . Left is after trimming, right is before. While the right looks fine at a glance, it is slightly off, just a touch over the 6.5 inches it needs to be and has a little bit of a overage on at least one of the rows. While not a HUGE deal, it will show up in your rows when you’re putting things together. All of the slightly over bits will add up to rows not being equal when putting the quilt top together.
Obviously no one is going to MAKE you trim your blocks, but if you’re going for precision and ease of putting things together, trimming (or squaring up) is a necessary step. It shows in your finished flimsy.

Literally years in the making. Hand pieced and hand quilted. Actually submitting it in a show. Never thought I would do that.

I am working on a Halloween quilt and after getting everything cut out this past weekend I realized it's too dark and not what I was going for. I ordered some orange fabric for the big square next to the 4 square, but now I am worrying the purple squares are too dark to use. I will probably end up getting a brighter purple fabric to replace the mostly black square there as well. I tried a few other layouts including removing the big squares all together, but I am in love with the big ghost squares and want to keep this pattern so I have enough to make a twin size quilt. Any suggestions? (This is not the whole quilt, I was laying it out to test the look).

This was supposed to be a stashbuster quilt but I ended up buying new fabric for a third of it.

Finished up this one this morning. Image two is a quilt I made many years ago. The pattern came out of a book that is lost somewhere in the ether or I would credit it. Apparently I cut enough to make two, but never made the other one. I rarely like making the same thing twice because it feels too much like production work.

I got all my triangles cut and started organizing them and just happened to make a hexagon. I liked it so just went with it. No pattern, just pure yolo. I am sure it's not the first time it has been done before, though.

I like this because it comes together pretty quick and it's a good way to practice getting points more accurate. If they aren't, it's busy enough where it has to be really off or you have to look real close to tell. I do think it would look better four times bigger. Heh.

Not sure how I am going to quilt it yet, but I am going to bind it with pieces of the leftover fabric from the top. Fun project and a nice break from piecing the other top with tiny triangles.

I read about the 1980’s and that quilts were being mass produced in china (unethical labor wages). I found a quilt today while thrifting and think this may be one of them. I thought handmade heirloom at first because of the hand stitching, but these reproductions were also hand quilted..

Any advice how to tell? Just curious is all

I am sewing a puff quilt and this is the design I chose for the front... I don't know what color fabric to use for the back. Something plain or with a pattern ? I plan on putting it on my olive green colored couch. Any thoughts ?

I FINALLY used the coldest daily high colour in my temperature quilt this month (9 degrees C - which is the dark blue Kona Royal fabric). I don't think it'll make an appearance again as we are now in Spring! Can't believe I've already completed 8 blocks - only 4 more to go before I can start joining them together!

Pattern: Koru Geese Block by Sublime Stitchery

My practice stitches look very different from my quilted stitches. Both runs are on sandwiches made of the same manufacturer fabric and batting. The only thing I can think of is that for my quilt, I do a couple of stitches at 0 stitch length to bury my thread before beginning. Could that be messing with my bobbin tension?

I’m using a Juki TL 2010-Q.

Send me your best ideas for these 2 1/2” squares. Have plenty of additional fabric but want to use these up as well!! Any and all suggestions welcome!
