Remember Ukraine would be resolved in 24 hours during the campaign but wouldn’t say what the solution was? Or Putin would have never attacked if he was president? I wonder why Putin didn’t slink back to Russia with his tail between his legs on day one. I guess the solution was “give Ukraine to Russia”.

u/dabblesest 8d ago
Ok in Trump’s defense, gross, he thought he could use the USA’s leverage to force Ukraine to yield to Putin and give up territory.
Thank fucking god Ukraine was able to push back, despite JD Vance’s best efforts to be a fucking twat.

Trump's plan was to tell Ukraine to surrender and give Putin everything he wanted which would have ended the war. Unfortunately (for Trump) Ukraine didn't go for it

By "fix", you mean reversing the 16 million jobs created (6 million more than before COVID), or the 19.2% wage increase (largely counteracting the inflation caused by a mismanaged pandemic), or the record low unemployment? Or are you talking about reversing the Inflation Reduction Act or the enormous investment made in the Infrastructure Investment Act?

Jill has trotted him out on a leash now and again, but his mind is all but gone. She keeps changing her story about what she thought happened to Joe during the debate.

Jill and Joes White House staff committed elder abuse, along with treason via Autopen.

First off, ALL politicians suck. I genuinely believe that, regardless of the letter next to their name. Too many enter politics with good intentions and eventually get influenced by power, money, donors, lobbying, or simply protecting their own political careers. At some point, the interests of the American people seem to become secondary.
I’m not going to pretend President Biden was some great president or that I believe he did a lot to make America better. I don’t. But I also don’t think it’s intellectually honest to blame every problem we have today on the previous administration.
From my personal experience, I will give the Biden administration credit for one thing: they largely let me do my job. I was able to work with our allies, build relationships, and garner international support without feeling like political interference was constantly undermining what we were trying to accomplish. That matters to me because I saw firsthand how much can be accomplished when the people actually doing the work are allowed to do it.
The United States has always been strongest when we have both the economic and military power to protect our interests and the relationships and credibility to bring other nations alongside us. Biden’s administration certainly had its failures, but maintaining those relationships was one area where I personally saw value.
Then the administration changed, and from my perspective, some of the things we had worked hard to build started moving in a direction I didn’t recognize. Good times.
And honestly?
I’m tired of the two-party bullshit.
I want a political movement that isn’t primarily concerned with winning the next election, enriching politicians, or keeping Americans fighting with each other.
I want a genuinely nonpartisan party focused on the majority of Americans, strengthening our economy, maintaining a strong national defense, fixing infrastructure, reducing poverty, addressing the problems that actually affect working families, and taking care of people who genuinely need help.
We can be fiscally responsible and compassionate. We can have a strong military and strong alliances. We can demand personal responsibility and recognize that sometimes people genuinely need a hand getting back on their feet.
Maybe I’m naive, but I’d rather have politicians arguing over how to make America better than spending all their time arguing over which side gets credit or blame.
At this point, I don’t want a red America or a blue America. I want an America that works for Americans.

u/orangebakery 9d ago
Typical magat spamming narrative now is “both sides bad, politics bad” after seeing their dear leader burning down the country lmao
1
u/Ok_Caterpillar7059 9d ago edited 9d ago
I’ve never taken a side politically. In the end, I’ve had to vote for the person I believed would do the most good, because I’m not an idiot, I understand the game (I’m also part of the problem because I didn’t vote last election because I hated the choices given). I know sometimes you have to make a choice, but that doesn’t mean you have to blindly defend that choice or suddenly become part of a team.
None of us can fix the system by ourselves. But maybe if enough people actually paid attention, stepped back from the constant political noise, and recognized the game being played, the division, the distractions, and the deliberate effort to keep us fighting each other the narrative could eventually change.
Because that’s the part that bothers me most. While we’re busy arguing with each other, we’re not paying attention to what’s actually happening around us.
I’ve done more than most people will ever know, and at the end of the day, I’m still just trying to be a good human being. I don’t always get it right, but I try.
Maybe that’s the key.
Stop worrying so much about which side someone is on and start worrying about whether we’re being good people to each other.
Give it a shot instead or trolling, It might actually make a difference.3
u/Flat-Injury-5013 7d ago
Take a side next time. It's fascism or democracy. Shouldn't be a tough choice.

How are you so incapable of accepting individual thought that you immediately assume someone is maga for hating all politicians? The world isn't black and white, left or right. That's a frighteningly closeminded thought process completely devoid of critical thinking.

On another note but along the same lines at what point do we stop accepting that Congress simply isn’t doing the job we elected them to do?
I’m not talking about Republicans or Democrats. I’m talking about Congress as a whole.
The average full-time American is working roughly 43 hours a week, trying to pay a mortgage or rent, keep the lights on, raise a family, and somehow find time to live a life. Meanwhile, the people we elected to represent us make $174,000 a year, with leadership making even more. And Congress routinely spends large portions of the year away from Washington in scheduled recess and state-work periods.
Before someone jumps in with “they still work in their districts,” yes, I understand that. I’m not saying they literally do nothing when they aren’t on the House or Senate floor.
What I am saying is this: we have elected them to solve problems, pass legislation, fund the government, oversee the agencies we pay for, and actually move this country forward.
Instead, we constantly watch important issues get kicked down the road.
Bill after bill gets delayed. Funding gets delayed. Budgets get delayed. Problems that have been sitting in front of them for months or years suddenly become an “emergency” when there’s a political advantage to doing something about them.
And I’m sorry, but I don’t buy that all of this is incompetence.
A lot of it is politics.
They have figured out that sometimes it is more valuable politically to keep a problem alive than to actually solve it. If Republicans can blame Democrats and Democrats can blame Republicans, both sides can spend the next election cycle telling us why we need to vote for them again.
Meanwhile, Americans are still dealing with the same problems.
I don’t care if you’re Republican, Democrat, Independent, conservative, liberal, or somewhere in the middle. If you are elected to represent me, your job is to represent ME and the American people, not your political party.
I want to see Congress held to the same basic standard most of us live under:
Show up.
Do your job.
Get your work done.
Stop making excuses.
And stop getting paid while intentionally dragging important issues out because it benefits your party politically.
And if you genuinely can’t reach an agreement, fine. That’s part of the job. But “we couldn’t agree” shouldn’t mean “let’s do absolutely nothing and keep collecting our paycheck.”
I’m not asking for perfection. I’m asking for people in Washington to actually act like they understand that they work for us.
Because the longer this continues, the more I believe neither party is actually interested in fixing the system.
They’re interested in controlling it.
And that’s exactly why I keep saying I want something different, not Republican, not Democrat, but people willing to put the damn country and its people ahead of the political party.
Vent done and good day to you America!

President houseplant printed alot of money. Its impressive for a houseplant
2
u/Flat-Injury-5013 7d ago
But he never started a war (actually ended the Afghanistan war started by Bush), added 16 million jobs (6 million more than before COVID), had historically low unemployment, increased the GDP, and saw wages increase 19.2% (countering nearly all inflation caused by a mismanaged pandemic and a war started by trump's pal Putin). And the stock market significantly outperformed compared to the rest of the world. He also regularly exercised and had a higher IQ. If that's what you call a houseplant, we will take that any day. Trump has failed miserably.
1
u/NarsilFreeForge 9d ago
People blamed trump while Biden was in office. No one will ever take accountability regardless of politics. People need to realize that what is happening now has happened before and will happen again. They (both sides of the political spectrum) want you to forget the past and feel like everything happening now is some big thing so they can continue to radicalize everyone for their own cause to eventually destroy the other. The moment people stop and look back they will see just how meaningless, empty, and regurgitative our government is and will stop believing that anyone up there is trying to help anyone. The politicians will be revealed as selfish old hags desperately throwing the same ball to distract the wild dogs they themselves breed to feel powerful. Political news is just a show, always has been.

I hope you guys understand you’re being taken over by communist who ruin everything they touch and socialism is just communism light until it takes hold and then it becomes full communism. If you’re liberal professors and teachers would’ve taught this in school, people would know the facts. But do yourselves a favor go learn something go do some research into history and Carr Marks himself who was a freeloader and a deadbeat husband and father railed against the Rich, but yet got most all of the money he ever did get through inheritance from a rich uncle. See when you follow Marxism you really do show people how unintelligent you are.

I mean, they've been blaming lefties since before in office. Lefties do the same in return. They're simply not making good on the promises, as always and no matter which side they're on. As long as half of congress and the senate are against you, it's very difficult to achieve much of anything.

You can argue that this was a simple matter of politics in Trump’s first term but his lying, grift and subversion of Democracy goes far beyond politics and party at this point.
This starts with J6, the fake electors and his threats against election officials in 2020 for me. I can understand why folks voted for him in both elections… certainly less so in 2024, but there’s objectively no defending his actions and his track record from J6 on.

No, both sides make promises.
The democrats swore they'd keep their slaves!
Then they swore they'd rise again!
They promised the blacks to improve their communities while pushing more arrests on blacks for crime.
To which blacks were forced to more crime to survive, and cops arrested more blacks.
To think the republicans are better means you're not paying attention.
Because both sides make promises, they don't keep.
The only authority we need, is the constitution. And the constitution limited the governments powers over citizens.
Our founders said at its completion, we have given you a constitutional republic, for as long as you can keep it.
We are the only reason the government gets away with its crime.
And to think it's one man, one party is ignorance.
The government itself has swayed you into leniency, fearing reprisals from the government.
1776 taught us, it's the government that should fear reprisals from the citizens of OUR country.
The government is the custodian, not the owner.
