Hi, I'm 19 M Freshman and I have a really free schedule this fall. Most days I'm done by 10 am and the latest class I have is 11 am which leaves the entire afternoon for me to either study or do something else. My classes are pretty chill so I don't really need alot of time to study for them.

In the past I have backed out of interviews because the working environment didn't seem pleasant for me. Not to be picky, but the ideal workplace I am looking for is somewhere with people around my age instead of older people (my part-time work now is with people twice my age). I really want it to not only be a place of work but also make friends and have fun.

I have been to apply to almost every listing I see everywhere. Any tips to actually get hired? and whereee???

I'm a Freshman taking pre-reqs for Nursing. I really want to take my Science classes on time to have them all done for CalState applications. My dumbass ignored the Promise Agreement email back in May so now I do not have priority registration.

The science classes I still need to take are AnaPhy I, AnaPhy II, Intro to Chem, GenChem, Microbiology. I still have Winter 2027, Spring 2027, Summer 2027, and Fall 2027 to get them all done in time for CalState application. All these classes fit well on my Education Plan if all goes well.

Do you guys know any tips to atleast have a good shot at securing a slot? Does keeping in touch with the professor work just in case I end up on a waitlist?

I also do not qualify for any other ways of priority registration like EOPS/Student-Parent/Veteran.

[P.S. I did not come here to get the scary "no you will not get in, everybody needs that class too" kind of reply. Quite frankly, I am already aware of how fucked up my situation is. I need genuine advise and tips]

Does anybody have any recommendation for which Professor I should target getting into for the following classes:

Anatomy and Physiology I, Anatomy and Physiology II, Introductory Chemistry, General Chemistry, Microbiology.

I know who you take it matters a lot. I fortunately took Biology with an amazing Prof. over the summer semester and he made the accelerated course so much easier.

Do you guys have any recommended Profs who make the class fun and easy?

I just got here to rcc & I’m a freshman 18F & I’m black (if that mattters lmfao) , I’m rlly nice to everyone and enjoy talking to people about anything and I tend to b kinda nervous and  jittery at first but I’m literally down for whatever . I’ve been wanting to socialize but everyone seems to be doing their own thing & I don’t wanna be a pest yk? . I like to do a little bit of everything or try new stuff no matter what it is 🙈 I just got into raving and partying and I love it hella , I’m a film , anime  & music junkie & I’m highly into yoga lol , just to name some of my favorite things  . but thats me ! if u wanna get to know eachother or plan a hang out we can follow eachother by exchanging socials in msgs 🥹. 

Anyone wanna be friends that would be interested in playing along with me or make music together? I play guitar and would like to put more time into it and see where it goes. I’m inspired by musicians/bands like elliott smith, the strokes, alex g, dead calm id be open to making really anything. Just wanna meet new people and create anything

It’s my second year at RCC & I usually keep to myself but I’ve been wanting to venture out of my comfort zone this year. I take classes at RCC & norco! I enjoy various things such as hiking, reading , raving, larping, & drinking matcha. I’m also interested in cars & learning new things. If you’d like to be friends lmk ! :) 21F

I just read that applicants with in progress prerequisite classes receive lower priority for consideration to the program. I took Microbiology, Sociology, and Developmental Psychology over the summer. I think that the reason I wasn't invited to take the TEAS was due to my classes being in progress. I finished with a 4.0 in my prerequisites and GE, and scored an 87% on the TEAS. I just have no idea what my 78 points mean now that I know I'm considered low priority. Has anyone else applied with in progress classes?

Do you guys think we are getting the sscg this semester?

for my sociology class my professor wants us to have the ninth edition of "You May Ask Yourself: An Introduction to Thinking Like a Sociologist". I couldn't find it online but she said the eighth edition would do just fine. Does anyone have the PDF or know where I COULDN'T find the book online if I just so happened to NOT be looking for it. The professor for a class gave me an add code around like 10pm. I tried to input it around 11pm and it wasnt working at all. Do I need to go in person and have the staff manually do it at records&admission? Or is this some kinda glitch?

Hi everyone! I am aware of the disbursement schedule that is provided but there are different dates ranging from August to October for the first half of the drop. Is there a way to determine which date I will get?

I had a question so I was only enrolled in 8 credits but I added a class on Tuesday that I was waitlisted on bringing me to 12. Has anyone received their full half disbursement when adding a class this soon to the disbursement date. Or am I likely to get a second payment for that class.

I recently had my SAP appeal approved for maximum units exceeded. The email got sent out to me last Thursday but I am still yet to receive any updated financial aid award letters. Does anyone know typically how long it takes for them to send out your award letter after your SAP has been approved? I’m currently enrolled in units for the sole purpose of financial aid, and I would like to get news from them sooner than later, so I know if it’s worth it for me to stay enrolled in my classes.

Hi everyone! I’m a first year student at RCC and I’m majoring in Computer Science. I’m trying to register for my Fall 2026 classes, but I keep getting an error when I search/register for courses and I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong 😭 I know it’s late in August, but I haven’t had time to register earlier.

I also can’t attend the student orientation this week because I’m currently outside of the U.S. If there are any current RCC students, especially first year students, who could help me figure out what classes I should take and how to, I would really appreciate it! Also, if anyone knows of a group chat/Discord for RCC students, I’d love to join. 🥹
