RX100 VII photo from my morning dog walk.
Walking the dog and snapping shots around town with my dog taking me to cool little places that look great through the lens. What're your thoughts? Absolutely no editing.

Zv-1 II aperture range.
I’m looking to switch over to the zv-1 II, but I haven’t been able to find any documentation on the aperture range. The lens is an 18-50mm equivalent f1.8-4.0, and I’m just wondering at what point in the range do you start being limited to f2.0, f2.8, and f4.0?
Just got RX100 mk5
Hi, I just got myself mk5 and Im curious, any tips for beginners? I have zero clue about photography and what mode is mostly point and shoot? And is it possible to add somehow some fujifilm vibes?

What picture profile are you using?
Still yet to experiment with the video setting.
Be handy if the menu actually told you what each picture profile was instead of labelling then pp1/2 etc

On the run Video settings?
Now im not looking to be the next Christopher Nolan, nor spend hours colour grading so....
Say your out (be it walking the dog/whetever) amd some wildlife catches your attention that you want to film...
What do you leave your video settings at to get a reasonably nice looking video with no grading?

Rx100 V internal battery not holding date
Has anyone in the U.S. had the internal rechargeable backup battery replaced on a Sony RX100 V / RX100M5?
Mine is no longer keeping the date/time, and I’m looking into having the internal battery replaced — not the regular removable NP-BX1 battery.
If you’ve had this repair done:
How much did it cost?
Did you go through Sony or an independent camera repair shop?
Any repair shop you would recommend?
Did they replace just the internal battery, or did Sony charge a flat repair fee?
I’m based in Los Angeles, so local recommendations would be especially helpful.
Thanks!

A mix of Program Auto and Shutter priority. Full Res JPGs (FLAT profile) beamed to my Galaxy Fold 8 and edited in Lightroom mobile. I love this workflow. Wish I had a polarizer but the ring adapter arrives tomorrow.

Buy Sony RX100 VII Now or Wait for RX100 VIII?
I’m seriously considering buying the RX100 VII, but it’s already around 7 years old. With flagship phones like the iPhone 17 Pro Max getting so capable, I’m hesitant to invest in such an old camera generation.
I understand a dedicated camera still has major advantages, especially optical zoom and controls. But has anyone heard any credible leaks or rumours about an RX100 VIII or a possible release date?
Would you buy the RX100 VII now or wait?

Is the RX100 VII still worth ~$1,150 in 2026 as a one-stop travel camera?
Hi everyone,
I’m considering buying an RX100 VII from India, where it currently costs around ₹1 lakh (~US$1,150), and I’m having a hard time deciding whether it makes sense at this price in 2026 as a one-stop-shop travel camera.
I don't call myself a photographer and don't see myself as one in the near future. I’m primarily a travel enthusiast, and I spend substantial time doing things like motorcycling, hiking, etc. I love taking photos on the go. So far, I've mostly used my smartphones (e.g. S23), and I may also print or post some of my photos. I'm now considering a proper camera as a step up.
That’s also why a full-sized mirrorless camera isn't very practical for me. On a regular basis, I don't want to carry a separate camera bag or worry about protecting and carrying a large camera. In reality, I feel I'd often end up leaving it at home—which defeats the purpose.
What attracts me to the RX100 is that it's small enough to carry naturally, so I could have it with me all the time and actually take photographs whenever I see something interesting.
I also love telephoto lenses, and the RX100 VII's 24–200mm equivalent lens is therefore a huge attraction for me. Having that kind of optical reach in something genuinely pocketable is probably the biggest reason I'm considering it.
I'm also wondering whether something like the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro could make more sense, but I'm not convinced a phone can give me the kind of photography experience and optical reach I'm looking for.
My biggest hesitation is the age of the RX100 VII. It was released in 2019, and I'm wondering whether it's sensible to spend ~$1,150 on it in 2026 when it feels like the model is overdue for an update. There also seems to be some recent speculation about a possible successor.
So, if you were in my position, would you buy the RX100 VII now, or would you wait?
I'd especially love to hear from people who have actually owned and used the RX100 VII for a while. Is it still a camera you'd happily buy and carry in 2026?
Thanks!
